Dear Fellow Nassau Democrats,
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! As you know, the role call vote was stopped tonight after cherry picking votes in those areas where the ”powers that be” thought they had complete control and before any areas where they expected to find support for me were given a chance to be heard. The zones they counted were almost entirely zones where the prevailing wisdom said I would find ZERO committee people willing to vote for me,
Boy, were they wrong.
I cannot believe how much unexpected and unsolicited support I received tonight—and in areas where everyone predicted otherwise. I got votes I never saw coming. The fact that there were so many of you willing to vote your conscience and vote for your principles was nothing short of inspiring. The outpouring of affection and the words of encouragement I received in person tonight and the warmth with which you received me will sustain me throughout the primary and on into the general election.
I know Democrats want to elect Democrats. We don’t want to cross endorse Republicans—not Denis Dillon, not a Republican imported from Pennsylvania.
I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart and tell you that you make me proud that I have always been a lifelong Democrat, and to stay in your company, I will always remain a Democrat. I look forward to campaigning side by side with you again this cycle. With your help we can put a real, honest to gosh, Democrat in the DA’s Office.
