who can we run in 12 for senate against Kirsten Gillebrand?
who can we run in 12 for the 4th CD against McCarthy or her replacement?
who can we run in 12 for the 5th CD against Ackerman?

There are plenty of people but what you do not understand is you need an established name to beat an established name you need a guy out of maybe the town of hempstead who is not afraid of a challenge.

How about this. Last time the Republicans had this seat regularly was with Ray Mc Grath. A teacher, a person who was good looking and Irish. There I said it. Find a good looking Irish guy who is a person who is smart and good looking and you will have that seat for 18 years. Perhaps an Irish guy who speaks spanish as well as itlalan. But who knows. Maybe another teacher who is a creature of the repubs, but who is properly supported and marketed, starting now.

You have all the Irish Republicans in Manhasset and Garden City, RVC frozen out of politics they are being turned off or going over to the other side. Add to this the young Bastardi's of the world in west end of Nassau also frozen out and you have losses building up of people who should support party.

Also republicans better start selling the american dream and low taxes to those new central american home owners in Elmont and Hempstead, just like what happened with the italians, how they became republicans.

That is a good thought. He is involved in politics, obviously, he has some success and he is west end savvy with all the other prerequisites for winning and keeping the congressional seat in 4th CD, Irish and good looking. But, why would he want to go for that office? He has a good gig now. But this type of candidate, or a person or persons like him who could start running with support NOW. That is to say, if an 'outsider' get them burnished in their resumes and active so when the time comes to publicly acclaim the candidate, the person or persons who have been working to be acceptable to the public and the party would be supporting a few people who are players and also developing a bench. It would be important to have other positions where these folks could run. Since the idea is to develop a bench, guys want to play in the game as well. SO if it looks like a person being developed cannot run for th econgressional seat or a county or town seat, try to guide them on local seats, water district, library district, village seats, school boards, something that can season a person and help them and the party develop.

It makes a person wonder. I would think that a career politician would naturely look to move on to bigger and more important positions. Term limits would certainly help to move folks along on the bench and sort out the players that could produce on the next level.

that the Post Ave crowd is hoping McCarthy will not seek re-election next term and then their boy Tony Santino can run for the open seat. Tony and his supporters didn't think he was strong enough to run against Carolyn, so they wanted to keep the seat for her and then when she retires he'll be a 'shuwin'.... If Tony couldn't win it this year, If he didn't have enough faith in himself this year, its foolishness for him to think that he can win it in '12!

right now, we have to see how the districts settle out with redistricting... but how long is that supposed to take and get done? I would think it needs to happen before january 2012, so that the congress elections are set up. But what about local elections in 2011?

Franny can do it, so what if it is 0-3 for the Beckers angainst McCarthy. We know he can to it.

Franny should be more worried about keeping his seat on the NC Leg. I guess he forgot that he is the senior member of the DPW committee in NC. That being said I would like to know why Merrick road is still down to 1 lane through his hometown? Snow is still everywhere.

Franny must have been busy planning the Strategic Bombing Mission in Iran!!
