So who's running the recount for the republicans? My understanding is that DeGrace retired. Is Mangano bringing in his team that ran the his recount?

John D is gone retired from the BOE, one of the smartest election operatives to hold the job. He will be the next Repbublican Chairman in Nassau.

The BOE has one job to do the entire year is it asking too much for them to do their job correctly since they are being well compensated. Once a year they need to count votes and they can't even do that right. These positions should be removed from patronage and contracted out, how fdifficult is it to count votes?

Martins lead now down to only 246 with over 3000 absentee ballots to count.

Should Johnson ultimately win, how much grace will the Mineola mayor show in defeat?

5 will get u 10: 0 ! ! ! !

Don't care about grace, degrace or disgrace -- just the numbers.

If they've only counted absentees in Mineola and Manhasset, then Jack's in trouble.
If they've only counted absentees in New Cassel and Great Neck, then Johnson's lost.

Anyone know where they've counted so far?

Haven't started absentees - have only done Emergency and Affadavit ballots

Newsday says Martins lead fell as opened 16th A.D. absentees but that's heavily Democratic. Remainder from 17th and 21st, which are heavily Republican. Looks like Martins will win. Usually, machine count prevails in any recount.

Inside scoup; race is over-Johnson is history. The dems are using the race for fundraising.

PS: This was another race Mondello did nothing.

Anyone notice the deafening silence coming from the dias when that woman got up to address the VOM Board? Apparently she was denied her request to speak even tho she followed the protocol.

First thing the mayor said: "As you know, I wasn't here that night."

Guess that's how he'll be handling his senate business too . . .
