Time for a change. McCarthy has been there for ten years. In that time she has gone from a Practical Nurse to Congresswomen and has become a millionaire. She really doesn't respond to her constituants and votes with Pelosi 99 % of the time. We need someone that has Nassau's 4th CD in their heart rather then a clone of someone from San Francisco.

Fran Becker is certainly more in-touch with the constituents of the 4th CD. The 7 terms, 14 years, served by McCarthy have seen government growth and spending skyrocket. McCarthy's aversion to being seen out in public, within her district, is inexplicable. Her devotion to the eradication of the 2nd Amendment should have been a clear sign to us all, just how much she thinks of the founders of this country. McCarthy's argument that as a nurse she knows just how much our healthcare system needed to be overhauled should say it all. SO now, we're stuck with an incumbent indian that believes she understands how to be a Chief. End the insanity and vote her out of office. Of 500 or so elected officials serving in the House, McCarthy stands as the lackey for Nancy Pelosi and the progressive movement's radical hit lists! If you're happy with the job Congress has done then vote for McCarthy; however, polls indicate that nearly 82% of Americans are displeased with their representatives. I am one of those 82%ers and I'm voting for Fran Becker, born and raised in the 4th CD and happy spending time there as well. Retire McCarthy this November, she'll enjoy the autumn and winter out in the Hamptons which is where she'd rather spend time!

Becker only wins if the Republicans win 90 to 100 seats nationwide. It will take a wave not seen in this Country FDR won in 1932 . Considering that Fran has no money and a tiny organization an 8 percent loss is not all that terrible. Could have done better? I think so but it still would have been a tough race.

Don't get me wrong, McCarthy is useless as a representative for this district. She only wins by sheer inertia. She can be beaten but Fran was just not the right candidate.

These are national experts. I doubt they would miss a 1% race anywhere in the Country.

Those that are undecided if they see a plurality of signs in their area, may be inclined to vote that particular way because there appears to be greater support for that candidate. Sort of like a "mob" mentality.

I will be supporting Becker because I think that even though her husband suffered an unfortunate event, it does not and never will qualify McCarthy for Congress. Its about time people woke up and realized that this woman has not done a single thing for her own district since she became a Congresswoman. Additionally, you only see her in the district when its election/re-election time. She moved her offices twice since she has been in office. I think all she does is re-decorate.

signs are put up for name recognition. Most people don't even pay attention to races other then the governorship or senate. If you see enough signs subliminally you have a higher chance of voting for them

Last night on Fox News Channel, they announced that incredibely NY's 4th Congressional District is now 'Up for Grabs" and McCarhty (D) seat is in question.

This is amazing considering McCarthy (D) has over $800,000 from Lobbyists and contributions to her campaign from people who got stimulus money.

The Republican Becker has almost no money and is running a Grass ROOTS campaign of people who are tired of being TAXED.

In Washington, they call Nassau County, Pelosi's 4th District. Because McCarthy is too tired to fight Pelosi/Obama and represent her people. She just votes with Pelosi 97% of the time.

It's not Frank, Silly. I had seen Dan at a number of Fran's events. I just can't comprehend the animosity. Believe it or not, the majority of Frank's team are/were Republicans. Go figure! It wasn't the Democratic Primary we ran in, afterall. End the bitterness, reassess the situtation here in NY-4, and come up with a candidate that can invigorate Republicans, Independents, Conservatives, etc... Put someone in the batters box that has the skills to hit whatever is thrown at them. The tool I'm speaking about is the Constitution. No one in the Nassau GOP understands it better than Frank . There's no other way to break it down! If the plan of the leadership is to run Don Clavin, Tony Santino, Kate Murray, or whoever they have in mind in 2012 they're doomed to the same results as the 3 Becker campaigns, the Martins campaign, Jim Garner's campaign, etc... The folks that are most concerned with the policies coming out of Washington see through the TOH pretty clear! Afterall, it isn't too hard to point out their minions and it was pretty embarrassing to hear some of them try to convince folks to vote for Becker during their walk-throughs. The idea of going out to campaign for a Republican in a "wife-beater" and denim jean shorts was particularly compelling. That might not have anything to do with the overall results, never mind that they were non-existent for the volunteering once the primary had been decided. I suppose they had protected their boss' boy and had done their part. What sayeth you?
