Why does Oceanside's mechanic send every thing out for repairs

When are we all going to wake up and stop the insanity of our mechanic sending everything out. The money that could be saved if he did the repairs could be used for fire fighting equipment

I have one better our mechanic is related to the commissioner who is responsible for truck purchases. He also sends things out because he is too busy working on his familys dump trucks with the district truck. The mechanic is also allowed to use this truck to go camping out to the beach

maybe, just maybe, the rig he sent out was under warantee? so actually it's not costing anyone anything.

He's Right this guy doesn't fix a thing. Everything gets sent out and trucks are out of service for simple things for days at a time he doesnt even do oil changes on the trucks. Never has a truck been PM'd either to help prevent problems he is simply stealing money from the district and they are fine with that because his bosses are also family. Sad
