Kathleen Rice’s New Employer

Kathleen Rice, the establishment Democratic candidate for Nassau County District Attorney, is now employed by Steve Schlesinger’s law firm. Ms. Rice has a background in criminal law. Mr. Schlesinger has a distinguished career in handling bankruptcies and the occasional election law matter for the Democratic Party. Shouldn’t Ms. Rice be employed at a criminal law defense firm? I am confused!
