An off-the-books Militia Training course is being held at the Brookhaven Town Rifle & Pistol Range this Monday and Tuesday. This appears no where on the books of the Parks & Recreation office. I have confirmed in-person that they thought the range was shut down every Monday & Tuesday. The contract operator of he range, no stranger to criminal activities, is giving the keys to the range to a guy from Brooklyn who is hosting a super-secret paramilitary school featuring out-of-town military-style instructors. There is no notices inside the range office that Town of Brookhaven residents can attend or even sign up. John Burke of Brooklyn has been circulating an Invite on the internet on message boards like "AR15.com" and "LongIslandFirearms.Com" with a warning that it's hush-hush and don't let any non-gun people find out about it. This is an all-cash under the table deal. This is illegal for a Town facility to be used in this way by the contractor.
