On Tuesday, Republicans selected their candidate for Congress in a primary election. The primary process is a critical part of our democracy, and it was an honor for me to participate.

I congratulate Fran Becker on his victory and wish him all the best in his run to unseat Carolyn McCarthy. Rep. McCarthy has been a rubber stamp for Nancy Pelosi’s agenda and has failed to represent this district. Nassau County cannot afford to give her another term. Now is the time for all Republicans to come together and take back this seat, and I hope that independents and like-minded Democrats join the call for change in Washington.

I am proud of the campaign we ran, focusing on the issues and calling for new leadership to take on the immense challenges our nation faces. I will not stop fighting for the people of this county. We deserve a more open political process that better represents the people.

PLEASE.... The petulant little turd should have ended his comment at the first paragraph. His final sentence is a parting shot at those forces which believes denied him his greater glory. Stop it! Or, if this is in fact McCarthy people, you have been snuffed out, and found out! I wish Frank well in all his endeavors in the future. I will work tirelessly on behalf of Fran Becker, to "retire" our Ms.McCarthy , and return our America to greatness, once again! For my children, and my grandchildren, I stand united behind Fran Becker, Randy Althschuler, Peter King, and Gomez, inorder to take back our Congress and work with Congressman King to Reclaim what this Country stands for! It's pretty funny how the Republicans (and i'm one of them) can't seem to find a viable candidate for the 4thCD. Now another becker is taking a shot at the seat...isn't this where we were 10 years ago when Greg tried for it. Mondello has conceded the seat until Rep. McCarthy retires, so let's accept it and be done with the insanity that gets stirred up every 2 years. Rep. McCarthy is in the House for now...we need to deal with it and focus on other things where we can make a difference.
