View Full Version : Loose Lips Sink the Wicked Witch
Embarassed Dem
06-25-2003, 08:23 PM
Well, I'm changing my view that Her Majesty, Miz Personality should not run for councilwoman. She should RESIGN instead. Never in 30 years that I can recall has any Democrat been such an utter and total embarrassment to the Party and to the public.
The Wicked Witch of the North hit the lowest of lows Tuesday evening at a town board hearing regarding an application for town homes in Oyster Bay. As I sat in the back of the room, I watched this elected Democrat describe in detail what was wrong with the project and tick off the reasons she and she alone voted against an earlier approved development plan for the site, which was approved in a 6-1 vote. The room roared in applause at Her Majesty's display and she smiled at the adoring public.
One thing was wrong, though. She wasn't smiling at her adoring public, she was laughing at them. As Miz Personality was basking in her self-righteous self-promotion, Council Macagnone asked for a point of order. He said that the prior vote had indeed been 6-1, but that HE and not Miz Personality had cast the lone "No" vote. Even Supervisor Venditto was stunned and he told Macagnone he "must be mistaken, the Councilwoman just stated to the whole room, on the record that she cast the "No" vote."
Well, Macagnone handed Venditto a copy of the official record and asked the Supervisor to read the votes, which he did: "Supervisor Venditto, Aye - Councilman Delligatti, Aye - Councilman Symons, Aye - Councilman Muscarella, Aye - Councilwoman Preston, Aye - COUNCILWOMAN EISLER, AYE - Councilman Macagnone, NO."
I've only been to a few town board meetings and I've never heard a room as quiet as it was after that. Venditto was diplomatic and called a recess and most of the board members left the podium but Her Majesty sat there frantically leafing through a pile of papers. She had been caught lying to a packed room and the entire town board.
This woman is a disgrace to her Party, a disgrace to the position she holds and a disgrace to the public. Imagine, if Macagnone had been absent she actually would have gotten away with it!! How many other times has she flat out lied when no one thought to check the record?? How on earth can we tolerate an elected official who makes us pull out official records to verify whether she is telling the truth or just saying what the thinks people want to hear?
Every Democrat should pick up a pen and write to Councilwoman Bonnie Eisler and DEMAND that she RESIGN. She has been publicly exposed as a complete fraud by none other than herself. She cannot possibly sink any lower. BUT she can and will drag the rest of the Democrats down with her if she remains on the ballot.

It shouldn't surprise anyone that Eisler is a two-faced liar who laughs when the public believes her. When one of her big developer buddies wanted to put in a luxury health club in Woodbury she voted for the environmental approval, saying it was ok, including traffic. But, when the application came up for a vote and more people were around to watch, she voted no saying it would create too much traffic. It was approved any way and guess who has been a customer? Yep, Bonnie Eisler. She is a liar, a fraud and a disgrace who will do or say anything for a vote. I agree with you that people should write to her and let her know she has exposed herself and should resign, but not just Democrats should write, everyone should.

Why would anyone be surprised at Democrats lying to get votes? During the 2001 campaign the Dems had to issue a public apology to Venditto when their lies were exposed.
They dont' give a rat's behind about anything or anyone except themselves and getting votes. Not long ago Eisler was yelling "deficit" all over the Town of Oyster Bay and Newsday gladly reported it. Now that every park has been redone and the Town's bond rating is still A-1 Newsday won't go back and ask her "how the heck did Venditto do all this stuff if there was a deficit?"
It sounds like just more of the same from Eisler. Maybe the one difference here is that she lied in front of the town board at an official meeting and on the record, rather than in a campaign speech. But the real point is, anyone who believes anything she says is just playing the fool, just the way Eisler expects them to.

Nice article in Newsday on Sunday for the Wicked Councilwoman of the North. Of course, her antics at Tuesday's meeting were not mentioned. Also forgotten was the fact that the TOB already took Twin County to court about 5-10 years ago and lost twice. Guess Newsday forgets the facts, like Eisler.

Are you surprised at NoozDay helping a Democrat? The local paper in Oyster Bay reported the Wicked Witch's lies and attempt at deception.
Who needs another do-nothing hotline? Does she think that's news? Call and complain, but what does she DO with the complaints? Nothing! She's collecting them. Well, thanks, but no thanks. Tear the plant down and put senior housing there like they want to, that's the solution she should be working on.

The site is not good for senior housing!!
Go look at the site!
It's one thing to hate Eisler and other not to know what you are talking about.
There would still be the other plant with the senior housing being built, and it would be doing the work of the two.

So, my guess is that Hicksville just wants asphalt plants. Sounds like a great place to live. The plant is still open because of court orders and it will stay open. Or, it can be developped into senior housing in two stages. While one is being built one plant will stay open. When phase one is complete, phase two will be started. Plus, the Town Board can use Covenants and Restrictions to require that the plant close once seniors move in. Think! Think! Or, Hicksville can still have asphalt plants.

Bonnie Eisler should mind her own business and go back to her $1 million home in Woodbury. All of a sudden she's interested in us here in Hicksville. Then, she'll disappear for four years after being elected.

One of my neighbors was at that meeting and told us what happened. Most of us think it is not the whole truth. We've known Bonnie Eisler and believe she's honest. Personally, I want to make the Republicans eat their words. But, if it turns out they are right, then Bonnie Eisler will be hearing from us. Does anyone know if there is a way we can get a transcript of what was said that night? How do we go about doing that and what would it cost? Thanks.

You can get the transcript from the Town Clerk. You may have to file a FOIL (Freedom of Information Law) request first. Most municipalities usually charge 25 cents a page, so ask to examine it first and then ask for copies of the pages you want.

Thank you for the information, Investigator, but a friend showed me the Oyster Bay Guardian article last night. I didn't realize it was reported in the newspaper or I would have looked there first. It was pretty clear that what people say Eisler did is what actually happened. She made up a story and then lied about her vote in front of a room full of people, including a reporter. What is really scary is what someone else said here, if that other Councilman hadn't questioned her comments, people would have believed her. She would have gotten away with it. I just can't get over that fact and wonder if she has done it before. It is a very unsettling feeling.

This thread has been going on for weeks. There is no doubt the incident took place as described. What is even more disturbing, though, is that Eisler has not said a single word about it. No apology, no explanation, nothing. If Eisler continues her silence, I hope the press follows up on it and holds her accountable for her actions. NoozDae sure won't, but let's hope the local press does. Community Minded is right, the disturbing thing is that Eisler almost got away with it and we'll never know for sure how many other times she actually did get away with it.

As usual, lying is a non-issue for Democrats. Even President Clinton just said recently (defending Bush on Iraq) that presidents will make mistakes. Lying -- I'm sorry too harsh -- conveniently making a mistake about one's voting record to a room full of likely voters without standing correct is not an issue. So, what is an issue with regard to Bonnie Eisler? Is the Equinox Gym application an issue? Probably not, she just voted for the E.I. statement, no on the application because the traffic which wasn't an environmental issue would be too great to have the gym, but in the end joining it because its high-end. Hypocrisy? Nah... But you know what, let's not be negative; let's be positive. Wait... I need some help here.

After reading todays Newsday it is obvious that everyone who has posted something about Ms. Eisler has been mistaken. Even Superv. Venditto was embaressed about the theft in Ms. Eisler's office. Now you are hurting innocent Republican officials with your irrational vendetta against Ms. Eisler. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Sorry DT, the alleged "lying in a public forum" episode didnt make it to Newsday, but this "non-issue" theft incident did. I'm sure Venditto knew "nothing" about it. Actually, he was shocked!! Shocked!!!

From listening to many accounts of what happened at the June 24 Board Hearing, Eisler lied big time. It's not the first time she has lied and it won't be the last. No comparison to the so called theft. Just because Newsday didn't print it does not mean it wasn't bad. Get real, since when is Newsday the only factor in determining the truth of something. Maybe Eisler's PR people were able to quash the story. It certainly is worthy of being published. Telling the truth is number one for a public official. Eisler wouldn't know the word truth if it was printed on her forehead.

That break-in at Watergate was ridiculous and so is this break-in at TOBAY's town hall. What do any of these two blips in the news have to do with anything? Who cared if Nixon and Mitchell were in charge when the break-in at Watergate occurred? Today, who cares if Venditto and his lackey Peter Guardino are in charge of town hall when Eisler's office was broken into? An investigation is (and was) a waste of government money.
