It was a long, hard battle between republican minded Peragine and democrat minded kapsis but the party members showed them where there minds were at and now it's full force toward Peterson. First get rid of Suozzi. Then find viable Independence Party candidates for the next round up - and maybe some cross endorsed judicial candidates too!

Former Conservative

Former Conservative. Former Independence Party. Current Blank. The infighting is still going on. That's why I left the party like many others have over the past few years. Maybe on paper we're still independents but we'ver with other clubs now. This is exactly what's going to happen to the conservatives unless Bogsted can haul in the troublemakers and present a united front because the foot soldiers aren't going to start picking sides within their own party when there's already so much animosity outside the party.

pretty nice words but

This only works if the Conservative Party united behind Greg Peterson for County Executive. Otherwise, that party appears to be a group of political cross dressers who only care about jobs and appointments. Tom Suozzi is no conservative.

And who is Kapsis supporting? Peterson I guess?

Exactly right

If Peterson doesn't get the conservative nod - the conservative party dies. They will have an internal war that will probably lead to lawsuits and years from now they won't have any strong leadership or a sufficient enough membership to make a difference in any political party's election. It will take them that long to start over. Look at the Indies. Nobody belongs anymore - they couldn't even get volunteers to act as committeepeople - they had to designate people who didn't even know they were committeepeople - and by the time they did knew - 1/2 of them had already changed parties and entered one of the 2 major party's they were supporting, or dropped out completely and became a blank to wait it out and see what happens to the party. Bogsted toying with a Suozzi endorsement, or even running his own guy at this point, is leading the local club up the same stream.

If Bogsted runs a loser third party candidate it means his end. Suozzi will not forgive him because after the way he postured himself to get the endorsement - he just looks foolish now to the Democrats in Albany. Peterson will have no use for him because a third party candidate will take votes away from him in a heatedly close race and the public's perception of him will be that he's nothing but a cowardly and morally corrupt politician who put his own job and security ahead of the County and the integrity of his party - especially when all other leaders in the party are rigorously oppose a third party candidate and campaigning to endorse Peterson. If Bogsted goes that way - he may as well keep going and Michael Long should remove him because he's just killed the Conservative party in Nassau County. I hope the Conservative Party members flock back to the GOP and work for Peterson if Bogsted sells out.

Indies overtake Conservs

This could be the Indies open door to overtake the Conservatives as becoming the most influential minor party in Nassau County. If Bogsted is so twisted that he fails to endorse Peterson - and the Indies are shrewd enough to do so - they can take back all the members that flocked to the GOP plus pick up alot of the Conservatives who back Peterson (which are many) plus they will have GOP support forever after. Maybe they can work out a cross endorsement and get a genuine Independence Party member on the bench. Bogsted will be left with his pants down around his ankles and the few remaining party members will be taking over his position and pushing him out the door. He'll get wiped out of his job within the year, and unfortunately will take with him any supporters who rally behind him.

Bungling Bogsted

Has anyone seen this guy lately? His hands are shaky and his eyes are red and his skin is looking alittle yellow. He KNOWS if he doesn't come out and give a media announcement standing aside Greg Peterson and throwing his support behind the Republicans - all the predictions about him and the Conservative Party will come true. If fact, the grapevine has it - there's already alot of people making phone calls to Peragine and Mondello already - and a few of those phone calls are going to Long.

Rog better save his money

He's only got a few more months of employment left and then nobody in this County will touch him for dropping his balls on Peterson like he did. BAD move sh*thead.
