A ward system will give equal representation to the various areas of the Town.

It will make running for town board less dependent of party affiliation

It will open up the list of candidates

It will reduce the dependency on fundraising and reduce the influence of money donators

It will allow a "regular" person to run for office and have a real understanding of the needs of their area.

It will bring government closer to home.

The candidate will have to meet the people of the area not just run ads, since most advertising will be wasted money (only 1/6 of the area)

However, the most important part of this process is that all we want is to put it up to a vote. Let the people decide. Drop your lawsuit and convince people to vote no if you believe, which I think you do, that this is not good for Huntington. Let us convince the people that this is right. The "various" areas of the town now have equal representation. More so than with a ward system. With a ward system the only person who will listen to you, if he or she likes you, is the person who needs your vote. The at large system means that all of the Board members had best listen, or lose your interests votes.

Anyone who is a resident of the Town of Huntington can and has in the past run for Town Board without major party support, it is surprisingly easy to do.

It will open up the list of candidates for some districts, other districts will have to draft candidates therefore putting the power into the hands of our wonderful full time political boss.

Most money for candidates comes from business, attorneys and developers. Those are the people with the most to gain and therefore want to be recognized as a contributor. I can, but will not cite several who contribute to both sides, therefore insuring a "win". Try to go door to door and get donations from the average family, you will have more doors slammed in your face and meet a rudeness that you never knew existed in Huntington. A district that is almost all residential will demand a self funding candidate, now look what we have done. Only those with enough of their own expendable money will run. Could you afford to run a campaign?

"Regular " people populate the Town Board now. How much more "regular can you get? They are family people raising children paying outrageous school taxes, just like us.

Bringing Government closer to home is the last thing in the world you want. Show me one thing the government does more efficiently and more economically than private industry? Good governments across this country are trying to privatize as many services as possible. Government closer to home is the last thing you want!

Successful candidates usually walk the Town to meet the people, the more they walk the better they do. They must now pledge themselves to be centrist candidates and not ones of special interests. That is what the ward system does, it brings to government a group of special interest people. Let us presume that a recycling plant is proposed for East Northport and all five members fearing that it might be moved to their district vote yes. What can you do to remove those who voted the plant on the property next to your home? Admittedly the scenario is far feched, but not impossible.. I guess Thury was wrong when he said the petitions were illegal? He posts his name and calls you every vile name he can think of, yet you continue to hide. I am a Main St. republican and I think he has the qualities to be up front and not afraid of you "COWARDS" as he says. He takes his party where it can be best served. If we had had a leader with half his guts we would still be in the game. Zucky always thought that he had control over the Conservatives, Thury forced him to give him a judgeship nomination and at that point he should have realized that he could not control the Conservatives. Cappodanno had the Cons. endorsement two years ago. I guess Thury was wrong when he said the petitions were illegal? He posts his name and calls you every vile name he can think of, yet you continue to hide. I am a Main St. republican and I think he has the qualities to be up front and not afraid of you "COWARDS" as he says. He takes his party where it can be best served. If we had had a leader with half his guts we would still be in the game. Zucky always thought that he had control over the Conservatives, Thury forced him to give him a judgeship nomination and at that point he should have realized that he could not control the Conservatives. Cappodanno had the Cons. endorsement two years ago. One day with any luck the New Rep. party will mend fences with the Cons. and retake Huntington.The Conservatives showed their colors a year ago when they gave the line to Cappodanno at his first beach fund raiser. They would have worked with us. I know that TM tried every thing to get Thury to back his lame ticket. Thrury and Sullivan have taken a derelict party and turned it into something of real power in Huntington. After the Main St Republicans take over it will only be a matter of time before Thury and Sullivan will be on our side again. Just watch!

In an article by David Ambro in the Observer he states that a private investigating company found at least 57 forged signatures on Conservative petitions and that as many as 150 are questionable. The investigator has given all his information and affidavits from affected voters who had their names forged, to the Suffolk County District Attorny's Office. If the DA doesn't look into the criminality of this, it will certainly be a travesty of justice. The individuals who apparently forged the signatures work for the Petrone administration and are Conservative Party Officials under Dick Thury the Conservative Party leader in Huntington.

I don't know where you can get off saying its all about conservative jobs and power and then excuse the bilking of the dead and disabled for the money by the republicans. Its hypocritical.

The Huntington republican party is dead and it is because of a small group that can't give up the reins of power and court patronage. You excuse and rationalize the 'take-no-prisoners' attitude of Park Ave. and complain loudly that the Main streeters are out for themselves. But when all is said and done, it is all about a small group in Park Ave holding on to power for the money and power. Until the current republican leadership go and the divisions they have brought about for thier own gain are healed, there won't be another republican administration in Huntington.

I have mixed feelings about being readmitted to this site. It is in my case somewhat addictive and I have much more important things to do with my time. I apologise for my language in prior posts, I was trying to see just how much insulting would be needed to cause some cowards to reveal their true identity. Some are so low that they would put up with my insults and still back down. It shows you the caliber of the people who lurk here. Gives me the chills to think that these same

The Black family has done nothing to me. I think I only am acquainted
with Bronwyn, I have met her husband at a fund raiser, but I do not know her brother and I am not a habitue of the Nags Head tavern.
I have no dislike or hatred for any of them. Remember with the exception of the posts that I lay claim to anyone can post under anyone elses name. I do not make excuses if I said it, in retrospect some of the things I said were distasteful, but I do not deny that I said them. I bear no malice to the Black family. These words by Dick Thury are the reasons the Huntington Conservative Party is in deep trouble. Bad enough to cozy up to the Democrat political bosses who hand feed the Huntington Conservative Leadership but to make those kinds of insinuations that Thury does in his statement is beyond over the top. He is truly a despicable person. Even more despicable that other political leaders have colluded with him.

The town actually sponsors a tax payer funded work site for these illegals to gather in the morning and solicit illegal work! If I buy a house and want to make an improvement to better my neighborhood I will have to go through a ton of red tape, costly fees, and exorbitant taxes- then why is it I can drive anywhere in Huntington station and find every other house overflowing with Mexicans and illegals living in dangerous conditions while the landlords continue to pad the pockets of dirty politicians? As a child I remember the beauty of driving down pinelawn road during the fall and seeing the beautiful sod farms, now all I see is low income housing-Need a place to jame more of these illegals in. Do the politicians think this is a joke? Do they care about their constituents, or are we voting to make the builders and developers of slums rich and boosting the popularity of terrorist leaders like the Rev. Ramirez? Can anyone tell me a good reason I would want to stay on Long Island? Pretty soon the politicians will all get theirs though, while their pockets get fat now in a couple of years my generation will all see the light and leave LI also. These politicians will pay the price when the voting booths are all in spanish, their kids are forced to go to school with scum, and their beautiful neighborhoods are filled with scum and renamed little mexico. Those of us in the private sector realize that very few people within the parties really want to change anything. It is more important to keep budgets bloated, no-show (or very little show) jobs in place to guarantee votes and people to work on a campaign, and the same tired diatribes in order to make people think you are doing something. Take a look at some resumes that have been put out there. Top 25 universities (per US News & World, not the AP vote), working for Fortune 500 companies. But the old cronies don't want anything to do with us. It is the people in power who have very little real world experience outside of the political offices they have held or their experience with town or county jobs. Why don't you really review their resumes and see how much of their life has been spent outside of a government position? For the majority of them, it is not much.



Binder's wife Monet Binder, an attorney, receives plenty of work from judges on real estate forclosures and other matters. But his wife does not work for the town. She just steals from the County pocket. Check it out!!

Huntington is a joke, our elected officials- Republican and Democrat alike complete sell outs. I chuckle everytime i see the TOH sign that says "Huntington, a great place to live work and raise a family"- By who's standards? Do you think we are all stupid?? My wife stops at 7-11 for a pack of cigarettes and a cup of coffee and gets accosted by these mexican animals, The gym that my wife goes to had to put up dark tint on the windows because the mexicans would stand at the window and peer in at the woman doing aerobics, and then harrass them in the parking lot coming out. I drive an SUV, while waiting at a stop light these third world uneducated savages thought I was a contractor and tried jumping in! The town actually sponsors a tax payer funded work site for these illegals to gather in the morning and solicit illegal work! If I buy a house and want to make an improvement to better my neighborhood I will have to go through a ton of red tape, costly fees, and exorbitant taxes- then why is it I can drive anywhere in Huntington station and find every other house overflowing with Mexicans and illegals living in dangerous conditions while the landlords continue to pad the pockets of dirty politicians? As a child I remember the beauty of driving down pinelawn road during the fall and seeing the beautiful sod farms, now all I see is low income housing-Need a place to jame more of these illegals in. Do the politicians think this is a joke? Do they care about their constituents, or are we voting to make the builders and developers of slums rich and boosting the popularity of terrorist leaders like the Rev. Ramirez? Can anyone tell me a good reason I would want to stay on Long Island? Pretty soon the politicians will all get theirs though, while their pockets get fat now in a couple of years my generation will all see the light and leave LI also. These politicians will pay the price when the voting booths are all in spanish, their kids are forced to go to school with scum, and their beautiful neighborhoods are filled with scum and renamed little mexico. Their daughters raped and their sons beaten by gang members that are slowly taking over the streets of Huntington, and soon all of Long Island. I am not even bothering to vote this year, wont make any difference- corruption knows no party lines- when they change the laws to make the maximum political contribution $20, maybe I would vote. But hopefully by then my family and I will be in another state and I can look back at Long Island and say "I told you so"!

Those of us in the private sector realize that very few people within the parties really want to change anything. It is more important to keep budgets bloated, no-show (or very little show) jobs in place to guarantee votes and people to work on a campaign, and the same tired diatribes in order to make people think you are doing something. Take a look at some resumes that have been put out there. Top 25 universities (per US News & World, not the AP vote), working for Fortune 500 companies. But the old cronies don't want anything to do with us. It is the people in power who have very little real world experience outside of the political offices they have held or their experience with town or county jobs. Why don't you really review their resumes and see how much of their life has been spent outside of a government position? For the majority of them, it is not much.



Binder's wife Monet Binder, an attorney, receives plenty of work from judges on real estate forclosures and other matters. But his wife does not work for the town. She just steals from the County pocket. Check it out!!


ARE CZYGIER AND TINARI SUPPORTING THE PARK AVENUE CROWD WITH MORE APPOINTMENTS TO MAKE UP FOR THE LACK OF THIER ABILITY TO FUNDRAISE? CAN ANYONE ANSWER THIS? ARE THEY BUILDING UP THE PARK AVE WAR CHEST. We must have an investigation of the Republican lawyers and judges that strip the dead and steal the inheritances of the poor to give to political functionaries.
