Rice Should Prosecute Mejias

Punting to a special prosecutor over a conflict is a weak move by DA Rice. Mejias is alleged to have committed several garden variety misdemeanor offenses. DA Rice should investigate this matter and not rely upon the Queens DA to do her job. Wouldn't it be funny though if Paterson nominated Mejias to the Court of Claims where he could sit with the Honorable James Lack and they can exchange road rage stories? Then again, since Rice is so much more righteous than the GOP, she should try the Mejias case herself.

and sooooo what? She could have one of her senior assistants handle this misdemeanor case and never see the file if she is concerned that she would over zealously handle the case. I am sure there are thousands of similiar cases prosecuted a year which never cross the DA's desk. Sounds like she's punting a political case. The conflict is contrived.

Since you have pledged to expose corruption and defend taxpayers against crimes committed against them during your campaign of running for New York Attorney General. I would like to notify you of the crime of fraud that has been committed upon the residents of the Levittown School District. Dr. Herman Sirios and his administrators have purposely inflated budgets for the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 and overtaxed our residents. I am bringing this crime to your attention hoping you will prosecute him and others involved in this conspiracy.Thus bringing them to justice and returning to the victims of the Levittown School District their money which has been stolen from them in these hard economic times. It was revealed that when the books were closed on the 2009-2010 school budget of 182 million that there was 21.8 million in un-spented funds. This cofirming that the school operating costs last year were only 160.2 Million not 182 million frauduately collected from the school district taxpayers. The crime of fraud also continued within the 2010-2011 school budget of 192 Million which was not reduced by 21.8 million as the residents are being forced to pay more additional money unnecessarily.
