Islip On My Mind
05-18-2005, 01:15 PM
Seems like the Islip GOP machine (according to Pete McGowan, the strongest committee in the county) is turning its back on Chris Bodkin. The stumbling block seems to be over Bodkin's principled stance on term limits for McGowan who can't run again if the public referendum demanding term limits isn't overrturned by McGowan's hand picked flunkies on the town board. Goo for you, Chris! Stick to your guns! That hasn't stopped McGowan from staging fundraisers for his reelection regardless of the current law. Ginny Fields, a reformist and maverick, has suggested that Bodkin consider switching to the Dems and running on their line. Why not? Everybody else would rather switch than fight. It is all the rage in Suffolk politics and we all know party affiliation is meaningless on the local county level. There is one problem that Ginny has forgotten about and she may need to discuss with veritas. There are credible rumors (which I believe) that McGowan is a closet political ally of Rich Schaffer, Dem county chair. McGowan is plotting with Schaffer on how to defeat "bimbo" Pat Acampora, current county GOP chair with his boytoy Harry Withers of Babylon. Oh! The backroom intrigue! How beguiling! Word I got, it was McGowan (not Acampora) who was the drivng force to cross endorse Spota and in return, Spota would leave him and his Islip cronies out of the grand jury room. I know that the GOP screened William Ferris for DA. Ferris is about as honorable, ethical, moral and squeaky clean as any practising attorney could be (honest attorney is an oxymoron). Ferris was booted by Spota with the defeat of James Catterson. I have followed Ferris's career for a long time and I can never think of a time when he made a prosecutorial decision based soley on political expediency (face it! political considerations are always going to be present to some degree) or as some sort of smoke filled back room weasel deal to protect a corrupt politico or to go after someone's political enemy. Bill, you may want to reconsider! Do you really want to subject your family and you to this corrupt beyond measure county political cesspool? I don't know if an A-bomb would clean up this mess.

The deals are done!!!
yes schaeffer will act in concert with mcgoon(all credits to JY) and clear the deck. schaeffer will gaurentee mcgoon and the gang stay free from the long arm of the law namely mr spota 's office!! In return for a cake walk election for the DA, this nov. Ginny Fields was denied the dem nom for levy's seat by the mcgoon to schaeffer connection, until she muscled the two prom queens into a corner by filing to run as a independant. Hey Ginny, remember when I cornered steve levy in his office the day after you lost to mcgoon, and mr. levy said there was nothing he could do about Mr. Margo getting the dem. nom for levy's seat? Hey Ginny Fields you must know how you drive the pink lace irish mafia boys crazy, their playing checkers but the game is chess and they can't stand that a woman with bigger brass ones then them, is manuvering them around the board.
Ginny back up bodkin, and lets role him in as a democrat on the Islip BOard. Hey Darren lets get Bodkin on the Integrity line whadaya say.
Finally to Junkyard Willie we gots to sit down for some vitils or something some time soon boy!!!
Charles Houser Is laughin

Can Bodkin run his primary as a republican and get a cross endorsement from the democrats? On a second note. Is Charles Houser at home right now laughing his butt off at all the spineless hacks on government payrolls that said he was crazy when he said if he didnt get elected against Trunzo the town republican party would fall apart because of all the old dinosaur ego driven maniacs in Islip. Newsflash Islip Republican Party is divide and conquer on themselves. Way to go guys! Trunzo is such a great leader. Most people when they turn 65 they look to retire not try to run for Islip Council. Trunzo swore in the Islip Bulletion last week that the search committee was not interested in just people looking to end term limits. LIAR! Newsday today showed the truth. The Democrats don't need to beat Islip Republicans. The Islip Republicans beat themselves!

I can't wait to help Chris Bodkin beat the pants off McGoon. He'll see that Chris has a lot of support from both sides of the aisle and there will be a lot of people helping him. McGoon will try to stop everyone from supporting Chris financially but all you need is a vote in the ballot booth on Primary Day and then again on Election Day and Chris will be in Town Hall without the strong arm of McGoon because he'll finally be "born free". :D

Go Chris Go!!! There will be so many people willing to help you out. Unlike others going agaisnt McGowan - Councilman Bodkin has a few things going for him: 1- Anti McGowan 2- He is so well liked. It is going to be a pleasure walking the pavement for such a stand-up guy. The Republican Town picked Puppet to run against him should show some class and bow out. How dare McGowan and his goons try to do this and to all of your Islip Republicans How dare you let him. Lets keep up the good fight and fix this mess. Go Chris Go!!!

Chris Bodkin is ready for the fight, mcgoon has lashed out at the wrong person for the wrong reason once again. This is too heavy handed and unwarranted based on Bodkins public service and decency. Mcgoon can not possibly be paying off and coercing enough people to over come the backlash this will engender in the people. Lets stand up for Chris Bodkin, may the force be with us!

Let stand up for Chris from both the Dem side and Rep side. I was never a big Bodkin fan but to be thrown out for doing the right thing is just not right.
It goes against the moral and ethical fiber of which this country was built. The founding fathers of this country had to stand up for what they believed in although not popular with the rulers of the time. Chris is doing just that, and we need to stand behind him and support him against the pompus dictator - McGowan. If we allow McGowan to get away with this, we should all be ashamed of ourselves.
Talk to your friends and neighbors. Get them out to vote for Bodkin when the time comes. They will be voting for domcracy and against local dictatorship. The time to take a stand is now!

I will be out there working like a dog to help Chris Bodkin. I can't wait to see him win the Primary. This is the beginning of the demise of McGowan and it isn't a day too soon. How long has this animal been getting away with intimidating, badgering, threatening, and simply trying to ruin the lives of other people. Hopefully, that time is now up! No more back room deals that hurt good people with good moral fiber. Hopefully the rest of the Town Board won't be yellow bellied as Chris starts to show his independence from this dictator!

This whole deal with =Bodkin is a fisaco. I think McGowan has finally gone too far and Bodkin will win. It won't matter whether he has money or not...the people will FINALLY get it that McGowan has pushed over the line and Bodkin will win. Everyone I talk to is willing to go the extra mile for him. Good bye McGowan and Thank God!

Look reality is this. Bodkin is gonna try to play the hero but the question everyone is gonna ask is why didn't he push for term limits on his job? If he did, I never read it anywhere. Did Bodkin ever call a press conference or get up at town meetings and call for term limits on his job? Council jobs are immune aren't they? So come on their sounds like their is alot of hypocracy and everyone knows it. I am a total believer in term limits. However, I also believe that what is right for one is right for all.

Chris Bodkin is speaking to the will of the people twice confirmed by referendums, one of which mcgoon spearheaded himself when he first got elected. You talk about not being able to follow the flow or thread of a thought in it's logical course, for christs sake.
It's not about term limits boys and girls, it's about the fact that the people have spoken twice clearly and convincengly but yet the only people who want a third vote are the mcgooniacs never to be mistaken for mensa members.
Hey Ginny Fields you lost to mcgoon in the T.O.I. supervisors race how about a do over again, and again and again!!!
Mcgoon wins no do overs, he loses wait a minute lets try it again and again until he gets the outcome he likes you know like in those third world countrys we hear so much about,

Your point is irrelevent.
We were told the trade off for giving the Supervisor a 4 year term was term limits. I happen to oppose them but the public has spoken loud & clear.
And if your kid is in Iraq demand his/her return immediatly! Why should they risk their lives for Iraqi freedom when it's denied to them by the Islip Republican Party?

Thank you Islipdem3, exactly 2 referendums with a 70% voter affirmation and we going to this a third time!!! Danny Andrews are you saying that Bodkin staged this whole thing so he could be a hero? are you kidding the whol;e world on this . Do you really believe that Bodkin wants any part of this.
Mcgoon will overturn the will of the people by executive fiat, there will be another lawsuit and mcgoon will lose. This will be delayed and drawn out by the T.O.I. attorneys, who knows maybe it will be heard by judge emily pines and she will rule that mcgoon is really in fact the king of the town of islip. In the mean time mcgoon gets to plunder Macarthur Airport and force people into Tellers for overpriced steaks and chops in return for "special favors". He can continue to run his criminal empire as if this is the way things should be.
Danny you should be ashamed of yourself,or at least embarassed

Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away…
Episode I
The Scamming Menace
Turmoil has engulfed the Town of Islip. The discovery of pornographic holograms on Lord Waldron’s office computer has the outlying star systems in dispute.
Hoping to resolve the matter with a blockade of power, the Town Board has terminated Lord Waldron.
While the Department of Public Safety debates this alarming chain of events, two Jedi Knights, the guardians of peace and justice, infiltrate the branches of the town board to monitor the outcome…
Chapter One
Qui Gon and Obi Wan approached the building with trepidation. They had been here before, but they knew that the two viceroys, Nute Charlie and Rune Chief, were attempting to spread the dark side. The Jedi Knights knew that it was a sensitive situation. Qui and Obi had their hands full with trying to restore balance to The Force.
“I have a bad feeling about this,” Obi Wan said to Qui Gon as they pressed the button to the third floor in the elevator.
“I know not what you mean,” Qui Gon replied. “Yes, there is a great disturbance in the force, but balance will be restored soon.”
“Yes, Master,” Obi Wan replied.
The doors of the elevator opened with a swish and the two Jedi Knights stepped into the hallway. Their heavy footsteps echoed on the linoleum as they made their way to the droid sitting behind the desk.
“How may I be of service to you?” she asked.
“We are here to speak with Viceroys Chief and Charlie,” Qui Gon replied. “We are ambassadors from the Teamsters Republic, and we would like to welcome them to our building.”
“Very well,” the droid answered. She pressed a button on the intercom. “Viceroy? Ambassadors from the Republic are here to speak with you.”
“Have them wait in the conference room,” came the reply from the box.
“Very well.” The droid rose and approached the two Jedi Knights. “Follow me, please.” She led them down another hallway and seated them at a conference table. “Viceroy Chief and Viceroy Charlie will be in shortly.
***
Minutes turned into hours as the Jedis waited for the Viceroys to appear. “I do have a bad feeling about this, Master,” Obi Wan warned. “Does it usually take this long for them to make an appearance?”
“I know not, Obi Wan,” Qui Gon replied. “I must agree that this is indeed a strange situation.”
***
Viceroy Chief and Viceroy Gallo watched the two waiting ambassadors on closed circuit television. “I think we have kept them waiting long enough,” Viceroy Gallo said. “Let us go and see what they want from us.”
“They want a treaty,” Viceroy Chief answered. “They want to ensure that we are not going to harm them, nor any other employee in this department.”
The intercom buzzed. “Viceroy? The Jedis have been waiting for over two hours,” the droid said. “I just wanted to remind you that they are waiting in the conference room.
“Jedi?” Viceroy Charlie looked to Viceroy Chief with a hint of panic.
“Yes, Viceroy. I thought you were aware of that.” Viceroy Charlie snapped off the intercom.
“What are we supposed to do? The Jedi are very powerful!”
“Send a droid,” Viceroy Chief replied.

Chris Bodkin has chosen to forsake the 3rd party lines, and bare knuckle his way into the republican nod for his seat on the board. Good look Chris Bodkin and may the force be with you. His success will depend on the media and mr.spota, and their willingness to do their job in protecting the public trust. Now Bodkin knows how difficult it is to be the only "virgin" in the whore house, principled stands as a memeber of the mcgoon administration is an invitation to this kind of malicious treatment.

You got five? That's a lot. Of the sixty-three signatures I've gotten, only one person even mentioned anything. She signed anyway when it was explained that, if terms were extended, McGowan would have to be on the ballot again and she could vote against him if he did.

When I walked Chris Bodkin's election district only about 4 people knew anything or even questioned what was going on. One of course being his literal next door neighbor. Reality I got is this. Nobody really knows nobody really cares except for people who come to this board and get the local papers like babylon beacon suffolk life or islip bulletion. I mean these people in bodkins election district many didnt even know who bodkin was. Dont get me wrong many knew who he was but had no clue of primary or anything. Reality is probably going to be this. People are going into the polls on election day and saying hey taxes are low things are good ok vote republican. Oh and yes I will save you the time and energy my notary public lic number is in effect till 2007 for Nassau and Suffolk county (cert of official character is filed in Nassau and I went to the clerks office to personally confirm it)

You claim that Bodkin "forsake" the third party lines? You clueless political neophyte. They would not give it to him on a dime. People are talking about his refusal to extend the term limits. Well that makes for a nice campaign theme but reality is that he was NOT getting third party support. The insiders (Islip Executive Committe) made a difficult decision. When all is said and done it was the only decision to be made. Otherwise they would have risked giving up the seat to the D's They would have definitly cut a deal to get the third party lines. This non aggression pact that people talk about between McGowan and Schaefer, well thats nice but given the opportunity and I mean REAL opportunity at getting a seat that pact would disolve in a NY minute. Oh and one more thing, I thought you were quoted on this board or the other one claiming to have multiple lawsuits against the Islip Town Board, INCLUDING Chris Bodkin. At the very least you supported the Airport suit that names Bodkin and the Town. Since when did you become his fan. It is quite apparent that you are not only a political neophyte but one without any integrety. You want to know what I think? Tough I'm gonna tll you anyway. You probably did not get a variance that you applied for, or maybe your street was not swept, or maybe your garbage wasn't picked up. Whatever, you are a disgruntled resident who controls maybe one or two votes (and you never know what your wife may do when she gets behind the curtain) Neverthe less go away. You know the party that screened dennis dillion last week. Pretty good for a neophyte! Next schaeffer and mcgowan could have concieved a child by now except for the biological fact that mcgoon is post menapausal, it goes with being79 years old. Onward, I have one federal lawsuit agaist this crime ring which includes the newsday documented double dealing judge emily pines amongst others. She who pays off messina who pays off sinn...reich her husband I might add, who burns documents out at macarthur with messina concerning the sweat heart deal for the parking concession, also well documented. Bodkin got double signatures needed but somehow I cannot fathom that 7,000 pro pete and 4000 against pete signatures I wonder how many people signed twice. My call is this is gonna get ugly
read todays newsday
Bodkins petitions are full of holes.
He dosen't want to play by the rules so now he claims the the lawfull existing democratic process is being misused.
well if he had revied his petition signatures he would have seen the glaring mistakes and fraud.
but this is the same bodkin who for years never looked close at anything he put his signature to anyway.
Bodkin is a sham who was put up to this by outside mainstream Islip repuplicans to do their dirty work.
