Now that Suozzi is done, lets really start talking of what dems are on the horizon to push him out, so its not another 30 years before the dems are in control.
Suozzi really gives the dems a bad reputation!

Sidney P - no pizzaz in your list. Unfortunately, pizzaz is what wins. And is Roger now going to turn against Suozzi?

Tom's not dead yet, but to speculate:
Roger wants to be a State Senator. Watch the lawsuit.

Don't be so smug, wiseguys. You were probably all working for Tom DiNapoli and still don't understand why Suozzi cleaned your clocks. He's done a great job and has been dealt a double-cross by Mondello, Skelos & Pataki. But he will persevere and get things done. He is not your usual Democratic milquetoast. Just watch.

Now, I am a competitive person and enjoy a good fight as much as the next guy. I love to win and am a terrible loser.
But can someone please answer this question -
Have you ever heard anyone complain so much about WINNING as the Suozzi supporters? Have you even see a bigger bunch of SORE WINNERS?
I guess it really sucks when you have to KEEP all those campaign promises.
....and its those lies, oops I meant campaign promises, that got him elected in the first place.

Woodrow, you're so right, everybody that Suozzi comes in contact with has something so wrong with them that they are the cause of the problem. DiNapoli has been in Albany for 17 years and has accomplished so much - why, brains and demeanor. Everytime you talk with Suozzi someone is screwing him, why, no brains and a punk. The truth is Suozzi does not have what it takes and never will. Won 1 big election, and it was big, but now is at the end of the political road. Remember when you burn your bridges, there is no way to get back home. Suozzi is done and worse he knows it.

Doctor: What do the people think? They know it was the Republicans who sank Nassau County into the patronage muck and they know we're in tough economic times (helped by Bush and Pataki). And now a creative approach is stymied by the Republican Senate. Let's see Suozzi handle this. Seems to me he'll have to fight obstructionist senators, county legislators and political bosses.
Doctor, wasn't it a Republican who said you can't fool all of the people all of the time?
nice try

Calm down fellas. Don't ever underestimate Suozzi's ability and certainly don't forget that the county this year is projected to run a 21 million dollar surplus with less employess, none through layoffs, and a bond rating increased by three bond houses. You'd have a hard time making a case that things haven't gotten better.

Sure looked like Newsday properly slammed the Republicans for knocking down Tom's sewer plan. Crystal clear who the obstructionists are. So why should anyone want to challenge him? Actually, it might be interesting to speculate who the Republicans would put up against him. Unless things really slip, Tom will be unchallenged for re-election in his own party.

also hearing from Repubs that no Rep is even interested in running against Suozzi in 2005. That is one reason they had to get NIFA extended. They know Suozzi will be around till at least 2009 and want to have some say in things.

OK, let's see if Tom can get the Home Rule message Bruno wants and if the people will support him. I think they will. They saw how Communist Party-style government ruined the County and know you can't repair everything overnight. Tom S said he could do it because he'd done it. Don't forget how he blew away DiNapoli and Bent and still enjoys popular support. The Nassau Republicans are idiots being obstructionist; it's just like reading about communists in the Russian Duma. Until they wake up, Democrats are going to look great because they are treating the patient, not trying to keep killing it.

Tom Suozzi won't face a primary challenge. He will be an overwhelming favorite. The Republicans will have a worthless primary to see who gets slaughtered in 2005. Voters like honest politicians who get things done, which is why they don't vote GOP.

How about Suozzi's new labor contract with county workers? Isn't this another successful conclusion to a thorny problem? The guy gets things done isn tough circumstances. He ought to get credit.
Gulotta, Mondello & Co. fiddled around for years and let the county go to pieces. The people remember.

You are criticizing Suozzi. What do think is wrong with him? What is he doing wrong? You say he is giving us Dems bad rep, what exactly are you criticizing him about? He has gargantuan task ahed of him if wants to win reeelection. But why do you feel he has let the Democrats down so badly?

...is a mean spirited rich boy who decent people dont want to work for anymore. Many of his staff members left or will leave after this november elections because they just (a) dont like him or (b) dont like being yelled at by him. He does not have the cretibility or humility to get legislation passed in Albany or deal civilly with state officials. His own Democrats on the County Legilature hate him for breaking numerous promises to them over the last 18 months. HE IS NOT A LIKABLE GUY!! People are even looking back with fondness on Gulotta ; not for TG"S aptitude but for his attitude. Noone ever attacked Gulotta for being mean or bullying .This is not the kind of resume for someone with "ambitions" statewide; just ask Richie Schaeffer; he is spreading the work on this arrogant bully to the other county chairs statewide.
That Settles it.......

In response to INDY...HE IS NOT A LIKABLE GUY
I have to admit, the first time I met him I was ready to support anyone running against him.. First impression sucks and maybe his ambition pushes him to act as brash as he does, but...
I will take an ambitious CE with state-wide interest over a CE who just sits in his "Ivory Tower" puffing cigars and milking the public trust like years past. Thank goodness for some fire from a DEM...We need more DEMS willing to Yell and scream to get what they want and most importantly get what the county needs....
