Making a huge mistake by putting CO's on the street carrying Democrat petitions to run a primary against Demarco.

Don't pick that fight.

what mistake?? the c/o union as well as the majority of c/o's are not backing demarco. the few c/o's who are backing him are all the old players from the mahoney years who are only in it for themselves. Look you can say all you want about tisch and what he didn't do for corrections, but look at what he did do.........................numerous convictions of inmate assaults on c/o's, k-9, new uniforms (well even though the uniform sucks but we still got it) , more officers are carrying o.c spray, defensive tactics refreasher course, first aid every year(under mahoney i heard people did not go for several years), more investagator spots, the old wheely desks from the tiers are dissapearing and we actually have real desks in the blocks to do paperwork, last but not least district court. And to throw afew curves out there, there is talk of county court and an outside slap program that will be manned by c/o's. but don't take the wrong way i only belive stuff when it happens. so why would the average c/o want to vote for a deputy sheriff that would take everything away that he can. the only negative i can say about this administration is the way the pipe was implemented. but i will say this, the pipe will save somebody's job one day. i don't agree with some of the procedures, like yard and the pods, but like i said when somebody finds an inmate hanging on a mo tier after 15 minutes, they will be saying thank god for the pipe. So yes as a correction officer nice job vito lets walk the street against demarco, we don't want you.........................................

Same circus- different clowns. Only a suck-arse and a fool would give up his/her own time to politic for their boss. Losers all. No wonder they all rant and rave when their boy reneges on his promises. It's pathetic.

Don't worry about Vito. His personal aspirations speak for themselves. He's a lame duck. We're just whittling away the time before the next union election.

If it wasn't for Denzler I could probably just take a shower after voting for Tisch. But that guy requires some serious Fear Factor-like overcoming of one's gag reflex in order to tolerate. Give an ice cream man a badge and turn him into supercop- puh-leez.

Wake me up when it's over......

His ineptitude has been well documented here. Let's just say he has no clue what it takes to run a jail(s). His preoccupation with his newfound badge, gun and uniform has impaired his ability to run the place.

His comment about Officer's seniority only meaning how long they've been there will go down as one of the classic dumb comments of all time.....

A buff. Plain and simple.

so now we play the game of who's here longer. how about you grow up spunky. yes iv'e been on the job three years, but i have made friends with many officers who have been on for 10-15 years, the majority of them agree that demarco would not be good for us. obviously spunky your a deputy, or a former mahoney boy, if your a dep i understand your position, if your a former mahoney boy then you obviously have no friends besides the ones you wrote checks to. see where it got you last time, you had the good life for 8 years, then the real life for the last 4. why do it, why be hated by the rest of your co workers, in the long run you will just get burned again.

I am a C/O and I have known DeMarco for 11 yrs. I worked close to him when he did the farm perimeter. We asked him to come and have a beer with us. It wasn't a secret meeting it was friends getting together to ask him why he was running. He is a solid guy and if you got to know him you would be supporting him too.

Actually it sounds like this meeting was probably set up by some disgruntled former investigator who lost his job under the new administration and got his pee pee smacked.

It's funny how under the Mahoney tenure when he walked around as a snobby investigator who stepped all over seniority and he didn't have a thing to say especially to any lowly C/Os.

.....That goes for most of my fellow co-workers on here. Not only are you embarrassing yourselves with your pathetic ramblings, but for the love of God, at least have the courtesy to write a cohesive thought with proper grammar and spelling. You better hope I never make Sergeant, because I'll never sign off on that garbage.

For the record:

1) Not all Farm guys supported the Bruno's Cocktail/ Rhetoric get together. Please reserve your judgement for those who actually went.

2) To C/O of 3 years. You come off here as someone who is highly impressionable and completely naive, as well as near-illiterate. Read closely- it doesn't matter who the Sheriff is, there will always be patronage, whether it's right or not. Ask one of those senior friends you have if they would turn down an opportunity to improve their career and help their family. They'll say no. But oddly enough, I don't see too many happy rs around, because the next guy who took the spot is usually the happy one, while no one remembers the r.

3) Hated by your coworkers? Huh? The same guys who went to all those functions are the same ones playing basketball, golf, and eating at the same tables in the OM with those that opposed them. That senior guy friend you have today with all those stories could be an Investigator tommorrow.

4) The rest of the county reads this with amusement. We sound almost as vicious as the PD on their threads.

05-14-2005, 12:33 AM
to c/o 3 years: for your information tisch is anti-seniority. he wants to be able to give overtime to those that will cost the least. and he wants to move all superior officers at his will, he wants the seniority clause out of deps contract and im sure yours as well. as far as writing checks, most investigaors made under tisch were politically chosen. his "im taking the politics out of the sheriff's office" campaign last time lasted all of 6 months, maybe!

Farm C/O

I have been a C/O for over sixteen years. I work at the farm and yes I went to that gathering for Demarco. The venue was picked by one of our guys because it was centrally located, so all the flack about Morris used to go their etc. is just BS. they have good pizza and cold beer guys. What should we do avoid the place because dumb azz Morris used to go there? STOP. The guy who said he has three years on and 22 to go asked what Demarco intends to do for him - had you shown up you would know. He intends to make it possible for you to retire in 17 years not 22. Since you write like a fourth grader I'll make it simple for you, he intends to get us a twenty year bill. He intends on giving us another K-9 dog and handler, he intends to explore every idea you and I have to automate the jails and improve officer safety- including adding manpower to shifts as response teams to emergencies etc. The guy has done the job for years, knows what it entails and wants to make this place right for everyone - not just the Deps. It is true he worked the booth at the farm for years, he was and is a regular guy. He is well liked by anyone who knows him from working that booth and he will get our support. I am not afraid of some punk with three years on, I respect his right to post on this web and express his opinion about this Sheriff's election. I do not however respect his lies about a guy I personally know to be a rightious individual without the usual political agendas. So the next time you hear about a get together of this nature with C/O's and Demarco - show up and listen to what he has to say. The beer was good, the pizza was good and the guy is for real. So all the posers, (MURPHY - DENZLER LOVERS), and fake C/O's should just shut up. Do what is good for all of us, not twenty of us. K-9 =01, 1st District Court = maybe twnety five of us. Thats less than 30 C/O's affected by all the GOOD tisch has done, and he only did it to beat back the Deps and their union from running Demarco. If it was a bandwagon at Brunos then I jumped onto it with both feet. If I get taken for a ride then my years as a C/O haven't made me the good judge of charactor I always thought they have!

farm c/o thank you for the answer i was looking for, except the bashing on my behalf. fellas i apoligize if i am not a typist, but now personal attacks????? listen to yourselves (or read for that matter) we will not go anywhere with this nonsense. i want whats best for the dept. and my family. bash my opinions but not me personally that my friends is childish, my 6 year old has more manners than that. Once again i put out a few opinons of the current sheriff and asked what would demarco do for us, mr. farm c/o you made alot of sense but i'm still not convinced, anybody else care elaborated on what farm c/o had to say???

I am a Deputy Sergeant, I like most facets of my job, I don't want to be a Suffolk Cop, I don't want to be a C/O, I like MY job. I have been around for over 16 years, I've worked the station 15 and 16 booths, I know a lot of C/O's from both facilities. When I worked the booth years ago at Yaphank I would take off my gear and eat my lunch in the C/O's cafeteria with many C/O's that I still call friends. I played deck hockey and basketball with the C/O's in the Farm Gym, and I played poker at C/O's houses on Friday nights - in short these are good guys and many are my friends. I don't know why I have to endure posts from idiots on both jobs that cant see the forest for the trees. Grow up guys - this is a public forum, everyone sees it. Part of being professional and having some pride in your job includes taking the high road and not participating in this constant bickering. This is what the administration wants - they want to see both sides of this Department at odds with each other. It is to their advantage that we have this rift between us, it is to everyones advantage but ours. I really think there are guys out there who just want to get along and do their own jobs. As a group it seems every administration re - defines what our jobs are, and this one is no exception. I've lived through Dooley with his axe carrying henchman, (Layton), who kicked the Deputy side any chance he got. Where are they now? Dooley is in and out of jails since then, and his "AID" was afraid to work the tiers so he quit - Layton.
Then we had Mahoney and Morris - they beat the living crap out of the Corrections side of the job every chance they got. All in response to a pissing contest between Canatella and Morris. Then came the trials and indictments and the deals etc. so where are they now? Mahoney hasn't been heard from since, Morris took pleas and is retired in obscurity. Now we have Tisch, he reacts to an article in Newsday where the Demarco made comments about him by giving the C/O's 1 DC, he takes away the overnight trips from Deputies and gives it to THE STATE C/O's, (not Suffolk C/O's), then he continues with illegal contract busting and union busting ploys. Guess what, I'll be here when he's gone too! This is my career, this isn't just some stopover on a long line of political jobs. This is it for me, and frankly I'm not going to sit back and let him rip apart the Sheriff's Department any more. I can understand if C/O's are happy with getting 1 DC, I really do, but at what cost to your own dignity did you get those twenty some odd jobs? How long will both sides sit back and take this back and forth crap until we stand together and throw the POLITICIANS out of OUR JOBS. I am supporting Vin Demarco, he has always been a decent and trustworthy person. He tells me he wants a better job for both C/O's and Deps and I firmly believe that he is sincere. I understand that a lot of C/O's will be aprehensive about supporting him, but the alternative is to sit back and let the current administration run OUR jobs into the dirt. Lets face it, next year they might be pissed off at the C/O's then what?

Sorry this post was so long but I have sat back and read all this crap for quite a while without responding.

That was a no win for the board, Bennett was going to leave anyway, (due to his incompetence) who better to blame it on. You don't think he would be man enough to step down on his own, much better to make it look like sour grapes then to admit he got in over his head!!!!

06-01-2005, 04:12 PM
Bennett apparently tried working a deal with Vito in which Bennett would be named an investigator and then would step down. Vito apparently told Bennett to go scratch his azz. It's obvious that Bennett is out for himself as always and had some C/Os hood winked into voting for him. He has always had a good line of sh*t. It's amazing how these puzzy's cry now that they don't have things their way. They didn't mind stepping all over their fellow C/Os under the Mahoney regime. Everything was hunkydory back then. What a bunch of cry baby morons. Does Jr. develop a lisp like his old man yet? And that female SERT member who has done nothing her whole career but complain and be lazy and now she feels she is entitled to a investigators badge. What a joke! Half of these nimwits are lucky they still have jobs. Don't fall for their line of sh*t. They are looking out only for themselves.
Vito and the union are not the enemies. These scabby scum bags are the real enemy. They will not be happy until they completely destroy the union and the job. All because they feel they are entitled to something that they don't have. Smarten up my fellow C/Os. These guys and girl will take you all down faster than a brick in water and than laugh in your face when they're done.

My opinion comes from 16 years of getting screwed many times by a Deputy. Not once during the Mahoney days when we were getting f8cked with at every turn did DeMarco or any other Dep stand up and say it was wrong. In fact they took full advantage of our relationship (or lack of) with Mahoney and Morris.

A TIGER DOESN'T CHANGE ITS STRIPES. Talking about small minded, you actually believe all the sh*t this candidate throws at you? Now that is small minded!
