Tom Suozzi not only raised taxes, made the assessment a national joke and dipped into the County's Cigarette Settlement to pretend that he balanced the budget. He made Golotta look like a financial wizard. But newsday kept giving him a pass b/c of their relationship with his father and father's law firm. Mangano has a huge mess to clean up.

It was n ice to see that we at least got some improvements under Suozzi we received nothing under Gulotta who presided in rather good times. The corruption under his leadership was lengendary.

Consolidate all the stupid, special interest, do nothing commissions like minority affarirs, casa, sports, arts, youth, seniors - most of the people hired to run those agencies have no real qualifications & they are pure rewards for bringing certain special interest voters to the table. Most of the functions are supposed to be handled through personnel, which doesn't do much either since each agency also has its own hiring & HR people or through human rights & consumer affairs - who nobody is running. Its a waste of county money and their only purpose is to give special people jobs & attention as bribes for votes. I don't see any groups for CAWA & nobody who brought those votes in got any jobs.
