Parks Piel 007

Today's Newsday

"Critics claim Suozzi moving too slow, but Nassau’s top exec says repairing parks remains a key priority"

Very questionable since;

1.) NYC management is spending $18mm to connected Suozzi vendors.
2.) The New golf reservation system failed to install and is running like a mis fit 1960's era computer which is not helpful to the user.
3.) With $2.50 gas, money is being stolen on SUV's going back and forth for NYC residences.
4.) Moral is at an all time low.
5.) Payroll fraud by DCE Klein is at an all time high starting with the Robert Cataldo, the tip of the ice berg.
6.) Huge liabilty will come from the picture in Newsday of a skate boarder using the $2 million dollar Nickerson facility (waste of money project). The skate boarder has NO safety equipment on (helmet etc.).
7.) The bathrooms near the picnic area are the epitomy of this administrations failure.
8.) Flowers don't cut it as the only use of the $18mm capital projects.
9.) Failed to give away parks to the towns, now what????????

Crazy Guy

Give me one of those Tiki Bar cocktails and I won't feel any pain when I take a dive from my skate board in Nickerson beach.

Then I'll file suit so I can hit the skate tour with my winnings. Nickerson Rocks!!!! Get rid off those seniors!

since they got rid of me at the eisenhower gate, low lifes from nyc follow the suozzi nyc people into the park every weekend.

no room for tax payers paying $12,000 a year

business like practices?

Suozzi and Klein's press conference and press release in January (below) was an ENRON type cynical scheme.

First these guys claim they are going to invest big bucks in the parks using "business like practices".

Now we know the truth that a fraud running the project (DCE Klein) has sponored employees (per Celest Robert Cataldo article) to take pay from the county when they didn't work the hours (business like practices?)

Klein has totally mis managed a big investment in a computer program for golf reservations that came up way after the season started with numerous bugs and anything but a user friendly design (business like practices?)

Now we hear from Parc Nassau that the county is merely putting lipstick on the pig. A few flowers here and the grass cut there while paying double overtime (business like practices?)

They told us they were going to re-organize the parks. And now we hear from park Nassau that DCE Klein did an end run on deputy Murphy and stuck a NYC dweeb named Charles McKinney in between him and Murphy. Murphy blew a gut and did his own end run on Klein and had Klein reversed (business like practices?). This is a re-organization?

They waste $2million on a skate board park at Nickerson beach and operate without safety rules encouraging ENRON like liabilities (this is a business like practice?) . See Newsday's skate boarder photo this week.

The full press release claims they will stress accountabilty. They don't have even a minimal accunting for whats going on. Howard you want to get re-elected, check their ENRON style book keeping. (this is a business like practice?)

Where is the blueprint where is the accountability and where is NCPD to arrests these thugs?

Jan 18, 2005

East Meadow, N.Y. -- Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi, joined by Deputy County Executive of Parks, Public Works and Partnerships Michael Klein and members of the Nassau County Legislature, today outlined a $18 million “Nassau County Parks Are Making a Come Back” Campaign detailing his plans to rehabilitate, reorganize and restructure the Nassau County Parks System, which had suffered from more than a decade of neglect and mismanagement.

The County Executive’s State of the Parks presentation, which took place at the Carltun on the Park in Eisenhower Park, offered a comprehensive blueprint for rejuvenating Nassau County’s parks. The plan includes $18 million that will be spent during 2005 on park improvements, and additional funds, some of which will require legislative approval, that will be spent over the next several years on capital investments, renovations and improvements to positively impact all the County’s facilities.

“We are bringing sound business practices to every department in this County, and now we have turned our attention to Nassau County’s parks,”

we hear the nyc guys are wasting $18million without proper accounting in the parks.

well we are going back to the "real books" for the last 6 years and publish revenues and expenses (with and without debt service) to see what really went on in the switch from gulotta to suozzi.

enjoy reading the mailings in support of greg's victorious march to november elections.

OK boys its Memorial day weekend. Suozzi and Klein's press conference in January (good timing!) said they were going to have things humming by Memorial day.

They were going spend $18million on the Parks! With more to come??

Well boys its Time.

We want an accounting on what you guys spent the money on.
We want to know much you spent on the disasterous golf reservation system.
We want to know how much you spent on seasonals, how this compares to prior years and what did they do.
We want to know what captial expenditures were made, for what, and what maintenance $$'s were spent that should not be included in the $18million.

The place doesn't look any different than prior years, the bathrooms near the Eisenhower picnic area are no better than the past, so where did the money go???

We demand an accounting!!!!!!!!

So I went to a few parks on the North Shore yesterday....thsi is what I saw. The parks are clean and painted. The benches are a nice green. New grills and tables. All lawns cut, edged. Trees, shrubs and flowers painted. No liter. Some are in the midst of work being done......looks pretty good to me.

BUT..........
05-29-2005, 06:35 PM
But how much money was spent to do that. Why does it take over-time to get the work done?

Cosmo on drugs
05-29-2005, 06:45 PM
More lies. Exactly WHAT parks do you claim to have gone to - and WHERE precisely in those parks do you claim to see what you saw?

How much you ask?

Well, Tom Suozzi floated a BOND (money Nassau will owe plus interest to do what TOM should have done with the general budget using his TWENTY PLUS % tax increase that he bled out of us) for $50,000 for NORTH SHORE clean-up, repair and preservation of the parks.

THEN Tom Suozzi couldn't handle doing the actual work that required, so he GAVE NASSAU COUNTY TAXPAYER money to Democrat Kaiman to use to manage the NORTH SHORE parks - 9 of them - to the tune of THREE MILLION DOLLARS !!!!!!!!1

THEN his new economic development catastrophe floated ANOTHER BOND to the tune of $1.7 million dollars to build a health science center on LIJ PROPERTY NEAR QUEENS on Lakeville Road in Lake Success which is privately owned property that LIJ-NORTH Shore is planning on building their first outpatient facility. Again NASSAU COUNTY taxpayers get walloped with yet ANOTHER tax bill in 2006 -2007 to pay back money that benefits only LIJ-North Shore (where Suozzi's daddy happens to be a TRUSTEE) and QUEENS.

Who wants to send THIS to the LIPRESS ?????????????

Have you been to Morley? I went to the fireworks on Sat. at Hempstead Harbor and even that park has come back.
Look at Morley...clock tower has a new coat of paint, bences painted, new picnic tables and grilles. There's new plantings around the pond. Staff in great moods.

that food stand down stairs is in mint shape!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wake up Cosmo!!!!!!!
you must be on the nassau county payroll

What $50K Grand
05-31-2005, 04:13 AM
Let's say Cosmo is right - personally - I didn't see any difference at the park myself - it looks pretty much the same as it always did - but let's say Suozzi made an attempt -

You're telling me that at ONE park (and incidentally - Morley is NOT the NORTH shore) for $50,000 we got a can of paint, a few trays of flowers and A park bench ? What a deal.

Suozzi really knows how to handle that budget doesn't he?

Ok so you drive into Morley....guard building has a newly painted green roof. A water fountain for the dog run that serves people and dogs. Main walk way is planted nicely. Clock tower is painted green and repaired. New yellow paint on walls. All bences in park painted. A refurbished snack bar in main room along with exercise equipment. New picnic tables and grills. New trees and shrubs around pond. A fountain to be installed next week in the center. I was told that the courts will be re-surfaced with in two weeks.
The lower hearth room to be re-done in the fall. The park looks pretty damn good to me..............maybe you should really lok at whats being done!

ON BORROWED MONEY
06-01-2005, 03:20 AM
Promise not kept. This is year 4 - election time. Before that the man did nothing. And the only reason he is doing anything now is because it's election time. That and the fact that he couldn't do anything before because he spent his 20% tax increase on patronage instead of the things Nassau County needed. So he took out a $50,000 loan, which is NOT coming interest free, to fix what he should have fixed 3 years ago using money from the general revenue fund, so he can win the election and use the year in Nassau County to run his Governor's campaign.

Hey Cosmo, You are suspect! Since when does an ordinary citizen go around inspecting parks. You are obviously part of the Suozzi fiasco. Go back to where you came from.

I'm not a spy...just after reading all the BS on this board I went to find out myself. I talked to the park director Gerry and some of the old timers that out and about. There are more happy people out there than your grumpy ones here.

lets see the financials

follow the cash, just like woodward and bernstein.

these crooks claimed they spent $18 million.

No way Jose

Lets se the audit Howard.

Suozzi failed in this project and is now sending out four color prees pieces saying the kimg has clothes.

This is why suozzi was panned on the front page of the Metro section of the NY Times.

The Metro section of the times announced in it its headline that Suozzi is great for the state GOP hurting Spitzer.

Well it gets worse for his credibility as a glossy 4 color piece, created by payroll fruad junkie DCE Mike Klein announces, at the cost of $300,000 in NC marketing doillars (not campaign dollars), that Suozzi spent $18 million bringing the parks back.

Guess what guys and gals, Klein and Suozzi are lying to the public and the legislature. The Leg authorized and Suozzi promised $18 million in projects to be spent by Memorial day.

Suozzi lied he didn't even spend $6 million.

The word is out.

Lies Lies and Fraud.

Suozzi is helping the GOP against Spitzer.

Follow the Nassau Parcs cash

Promised and authorized by legislature for Parks expenditure by May 31, 2005 (does not include ordinary maintenance)- $18,000,000

Actually spent

Press Conferences- $300,000
Glossy brochures- $2,700,00
DCE Klein Payroll Fraud - $400,000
Parks improvements (to connected vendors)-$2,500,000

Total Spent----------------------- $5,900,000
Missing ----------------------------- $12,100,000

Was it mis management or no management?, intentional fraud or incompetence?, was $12,100,000 diverted to other connected vendors/lawyers?, Check the marketing material for Suozzi's and Klein's anaswer.!!!!!.

And what's with this guy Murphy? Seems to be yelling and cursing alot at the workers.

Parc Nassau analysis
06-05-2005, 10:54 PM
This weeks parc Nassau analysis is great.

$450,000 for flowers that can't be watered. Suozzzi needs steady rain for the next six weeks to keep the flowers alive.

So these were considered capital improvements?? Where is Howard?

All the overtime used up according to Bruce Piel. He says that the overtime was used for the mundane. Now they have no time left for operations, clean up the prerserves, etc.

Bruce suggests the Legislature should review. Makes sense.

is there an update on Doreen Banks? where is she? i hear she is still trying to run the parks- trying to undercut murphy from her place of banishment... does anyone else think its odd that suozzi has banished one of his top supporters from 2001? Hmm makes you wonder

Bruce Piel is also right on target with his description of Nickerson Beach.

He got the liabilty issue cold ref. the guys on skate boards without helmuts.

Doreen is still technically Commisioner. They actually get along very well and work very well together. He respects her work ethic and she likes his enthusiasm.

It's too bad Suozzi hired James Carraciolo as Deputy when he first took over. He should have brought in Murphy back then.
