Cop to be

The NYPD just changed the physical to get on the job. Does anyone know what the "physical restraint simulator" is that you have to go through on the new test?
Is this new test hard?
Any thoughts you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

They have a group of inner city "youfs" surround you screaming cracka muthaf'er whatchu nobout daghetto, they will dump full spackle buckets off of the roofs of a 10 story project nearly missing you, cough and spit on you and tell you they have tuberculosis and now so do you, stab you with a needle and tell you its HIV positive then they will give you a night stick (oooops I mean police baton) and then ask you to cuff a non compliant arrestee in a redman suit with biometric sensors built into it. You will be evaluated by a panel comprising white guilt liberals from the ACLU and members of Al Sharptons church. If they deem that you used excessive force they will immediately indict you on the spot with the help of Charlie Hines or Robert Morgenthau and then skip the trial and go right to sentencing. The whole event will be videotaped by the douchewad who posts about videotaping the police on the S Report to be replayed by the criminal coddling media over and over again. THAT is the new physical restraint simulator. Good look and don't drop the soap.
nearly missing you.
HUH? lol!!!!!!!!!

First of all, the first response was hilarious.
Second, Cop To Be: Are you even really worried about it. Nobody wants the city job. If you have a pulse, they will take you. They are hiring people with previous convictions such as DWI's, Assault, etc... It was all over the news a few weeks ago. They are so desperate for people because nobody wants to work on foot patrol in the South Bronx in the middle of the night for $37,000 to start. As long as you haven't raped or murdered anyone, you will get in!!!

It isn't even $37,000 to start, it's a lot less.....

HILARIOUS. Some of these postings only point out
the talents of many of our brothers in arms. I am sure
most posters are pretty much like me when they post,
i.e., they sit at the keyboard and punch this stuff
out without thinking it through....it just flows off
the tip of the brain. Stuff is good.
Talking about the NYPD physical. Don't worry
about it. How else do you think all those chocolate
cows with the fat asses got on. Do you really think
any one of them could have done anything more strenous
that laying a fart?
If you really want the job now is the time if
your resume is marginal. They take everybody, maybe
even me if I was allowed to re-up.
A note on the NYPD. They start you off with a sh@t pay and you then have to lay out over $2K for uniforms they don't provide. You start off behind the 8 Ball in debt and you may not have even got your first paycheck yet. Back in my day at least they put your uniforms on account and it got paid back from your annual uniform allowance. No such luck today.
Listen I did almost 30 with no complaints. I left with LT's pay and it was decent. I pity most cops with the crap pay they get. My advice to you if you hook up is never to take the job serioulsly. Never allow it to intrude in your life or change your personality. Take the meager paycheck each two weeks and study for higher pay. And always keep your eyes open for a better job elsewhere, be it another PD or another walk of life.

April 29, 2005 -- A black cop fired twice by the NYPD filed her second discrimination lawsuit against the city yesterday, accusing the department of bringing trumped-up charges of alcoholism against her.
The suit, filed in Manhattan federal court, claims that Angela Willis was sacked last May, for the second time in 10 years, in retaliation for her having lodged harassment complaints against the department.
Willis was suspended in 2000 after having been accused of several violations:
* Investigators said she impeded a probe into the fatal shooting of a man in Queens. Police said a suspect had used Willis' car in the slaying and that Willis had given evasive answers to the cops about it — including not informing them that she was a police officer.
* Police also accused her of showing up late to work while being on modified duty because of the shooting probe. Willis said she was late because she had taken her son, Malik, who is asthmatic, for treatment.
* Authorities charged her with being for duty because she was an alcoholic and had refused counseling.
Willis — who has also accused the NYPD of race and gender discrimination — joined the force in 1992 and was fired for the first time by the department three years later, after she had racked up 40 days of absences.
The NYPD let her go without an administrative hearing, claiming that she was a probationary employee. It added 40 days to her probationary period to account for her absences.
But a state judge, finding that the department had incorrectly extended her probationary period, ordered the city to reinstate her.
A spokeswoman for the city's Law Department said yesterday that the agency was reviewing the lawsuit.
Item from today's NYPost. This is what you will be facing every day in your career. Nonsense like this with people howling about being discriminated against when it is just the opposite.
I don' t know what color or gender you are, but if you are a decent person of color or female gender you will have to live with the idea others may make you look bad by their antics. And it will only get worse.
the nypd is the joke of law enforcement now. dont worry abuot getting hired they are hiring felons.

Half of the Newbies, on Long Island are from the NYPD. I am, and have to say the NYPD was good to me. I learned alot, how to handle people, and how to handle myself. I feel for our Brothers on the Big job. To be honest, SCPD is a vast improvement over the City. They treat us like people and let the Cops make decisions without a boss breathing down thier neck.
Just because there may be problems on that job doesn't mean the average guy on the job there is bad. It is just the opposite the average guy there is a great guy. We have our Losers here too. It is just that they have 40,000 Cops and we have maybe closing in on 3,000. So there are just that many more But heads on that job. I for one am glad I'm on the Island. We should be thankful we are here and not put down our Brothers in Blue In NYPD or anywhere else.
OH just for the record we don't make too much money the NYPD IS UNDERPAID!

Do not take the NYPD job. I made the mistake of signing up years ago and I am counting the days till I can get out or retire. I did well on the SCPD so I hope that works out.
So I repeat..do not take the job. Its all about numbers and not the co por the crime. Its about writning a little old lady with an unleashed dog so 1 PP can have a number for the month.
Stay in school...get a degree...become a teacher or even a NYC Sanitation worker...they make more then us. The city is full of LIBERALS and the biggest one of them all is BLOOMBERG.
this is great!!! I love when the pigs are arguing amongst each other on whose police dept. is better, and who makes more money, and who has a smaller dick, but compensates for this by stroking his badge. Face it morons 50k, 100k, its all shit. most long islanders make more than any of you anyway. But keep arguing puppies, I get a real kick out of it.

Right, there are many jobs that pay more than police jobs, I cant recall any cops posting childishly(like yours) I make more than you, in fact its mostly dedicated whiny cop groupies like yourself, talking ad infinitum about our paychecks, and some cop taking the bait. Im assuming you yourself are amongst the top salaries on li, otherwise why else would you be trolling here, on a police issues board? right Mr. Gates? ha
By the way, reading over this thread, who's arguing?
Save the k-y, its not really all that exciting

No doubt the hi-lite of your life.Yes it is. I really dont have any relationships with other people, I just like to lurk on web boards, and attempt to feel better about myself by putting those people down. Its as close as I can get to establishing a social life as I'm a sociopath.

It's a dame shame what happened to the big job. I left about 12 years ago for nassau. City cops have never and will never be paid what they should be paid. I still have many friends and family on the big job and its a dam shame what has happened to that department. What used to be the best law enforcement`agency in the world has become a shell of what it once was. There are still many outstanding cops on the NYPD but the way the department treats its cops is a disgrace.
