I agree. I have never seen a room turn like that. Fiore had him dead to rights with the committee, But after he spoke, they would have nominated him for Governor

It wasn't Marsha's decision. She wishes a primary could be avoided but unfortunately it can't. The committee was going to choose Fiore-Rosenfeld 3-1 in a roll call vote.

Why is she going with that Dud in the 1st Ward when she has a star like Hahn. That was the best political speech I ever saw a local candidate make. He will clean up in the Primary. Laufer should end this now

The committee was packed w/ Engelbright's people. It was a crass power play. I was there and I have to tell you, the look on their faces spelled defeat. Hahn will romp in the primary. Laufer and Schafer could probably still avoid a primary. Did anyone see that ridiculous poster?

I agree, I too was surprised at the amount of Englebright people there..Hahn gave a great speecah as always and tho I dont live in his district, he can count on my support anyway I can..He fired the room up for sure.

What do you mean by Englebright people? You mean committee people that support Fiore over Hahn?

Yes, Engelbright has got to back off. His aid should back off. It was clear that he was trying to capitalize on Engelbright's popularity. His entire speech was engelbright this Engelbright that. All his supporters had Engelbirghts picture on there buttons. Hahn, who works for a much more popular elected official hardly mentioned his boss except to say he was leaving his job to pursue this seat. Hahn has Fisher's support as well... and he doesn't work for her.

I don't know....Hahn sounded like he was saying something important...but what exactly did he say of any substance? Fiore-Rosenfeld is a person of character and integrity, a far cry from whatever Hahn is. Outside of his few years with the Senator what has he done for our community.... except promote himself....run and run and lose. What did Hahn have to do with Council Districts? We should elect the one who actually did some work to make it happen. A primary is such a waste of resources. Hahn should get out before he embarrasses himself anymore.

if you're going to elect the person who made council districts happen in crookhaven, you've got to bring back manganielli

No one person is responsible for Council Districts.

People who spearheaded this were people like Rich Johanassen, Lori Baldassare, Steve Fiore-Rosenfeld, Dr. Don Garber, Steve Englebright, Christina Lombardi, Camille Johnson, and Marsha Z. Laufer.

All of these people including others are responsible as well as the residents of Brookhaven who passed the referendum by 829 votes.

Its amazing... I remeber when we were all on the same team.... I am confident I saw Hahn work on the Council Districts issue way back in the early 1990's. I am pretty sure he wasn't on anyones payroll when he VOLUNTEERED. Fiore was always the hired help.

How do you figure we should thank Manginelli? The guy can't get out of his basement.

To my knowledge, Fiore-Rosenfeld was always a volunteer when it came to the work he did with councildistricts. He didnt get paid a dime for his work on the petition drives, the meetings with the ABCO task force, the meetings with the Councildistrict legal defense team, the lawsuit research and writing, or his constant, nearly round-the-clock involvment during the actual referendum campaign in January 2002.

Hahn is like those birds who watch from a far off branch while another bird builds the nest and then the Hahn-like bird comes in at the last minute to take another birds work and kill all the eggs.

Fiore-Rosenfeld knows his stuff inside and out. He's a public servant in the true sense, bright and committed too. Hahn doesn't know how much he doesn't know.

Just because Fiore-Rosenfeld got credit for the council districts..means he should given the slot automatically?
If Hahn wants to run, he has every right to run, and I think Hahn would be a better candidate anyway.
Chris didnt need a large blowup picture of a Politician
to get his message across. he did with with a paaionate speech that I thought was much better then the "I can do everything Englebright has done" speech from SR-F.
Its gonna be tight and cause alot of friction but I thin Hahn will definiatly get in.

Although the original panel laid the groundwork for council districts..it was not until Laufer came aboard and many, many old and new committee people did the footwork to get it passed....they should get as much credit as anyone else..and Christopher Hahn was one of those "foot soldiers"

Guys like Chris Hahn are exactly what this party and this county needs. He is young, smart, articulate, hard-working and has some good connections. Marsha should be ashamed of herself for not sitting back and allowing a primary to showcase these two candidates and instead trying to squash Hahn. His convention speech was terrific and I have been impressed with him every time i've met him. We should be encouraghing people like that instead of trying to shut them down. What's marsha so afraid of? T
