View Full Version : What has Mangano done for you?
Bleeding Out

Since getting Mangano - ie - the GOP - elected to run Nassau County -
what has he done for you?
What has become of the GOP solidarity that once existed?
Are the continued remaining holdovers the reason for the tea party meetings - the runs to the conservative party ?
Do you feel screwed?

That just because you run around campaigning for someone, it doesn't mean he's greatful. That just because you elect a new party into the highest office in the County, will it get rid of the previous administration's appointed goons to create jobs for the campaigners. That the only people fired will be the ones where there were personal grudges being held - within your own party. And never, ever to stick your neck out campaigning for another republican again because you just wind up looking like a pathetic loser when you're left out in the cold.

You are self center bit@hes....... Mangano ran on doing what was best for the county NOT YOU. Who to say you are even qualitfiied and if he hired you it would be the same as what had been done in the past. He is trying to change the way things have been done Give him a chance
Narcisist

Mangano's crew are the ones that are self centered. We worked to get him his job & now he and his crew forget all about us & keep the democrats in jobs we thought would be ours.
They hire a dozen people for the county attorney's office, instead of the 4 dozen jobs there we thought we'd have - should have. He's got the republicans working for the democrats again - they were lousy bitches to us when they got rid of us - except for the few republicans they allowed to stay because of democrat ties or ties to rebublican legislators - like Mangano - and now we're back where we were then with him in charge. That's the office that is all appointed. They still have all the civil service jobs that should be going through the agencies too because he didn't switch out half the agencies or civil service either.
If we can't win with our own party in charge - we'll just have to vote for the democrat next time.
He isn't new to the county - he's been a legislator for a long time. He should have known exactly what he was walking into & what he needed to do from the moment he ran for office. Unless he was a joke as a legislator.
Suozzi conceded Dec 1st. Its 7 months to the day today. 7 months is a lifetime. He died his hair for his photos - started online media blitz - and you call us self centered because we want a piece of what we gave to him?

Politics is... well, politics.
Even with trimming the county budget there's more than enough room for R party loyalists who worked for Ed. NO APPOINTED exempt Democrat has any right to expect that he or she would still be there, as they came in on the heals of someone that Suozzi threw out, ruthlessly, and to the victor goes the spoils.
Ed can do right by the county AND the party at the same time. He has not done so yet, but maybe he will.
Dumb-ass Democrats who cry about loss of patronage jobs are pissing in the wind. If you take one of those jobs, it is with the full knowledge that you'll one day lose it if the other side comes in.

My sentiments exactly. At this point, I'm starting to hate the GOP in office as much as I hated the freaks Suozzi brought in.

Don't forget the appointed republicans under Suozzi who threw their own people under a bus to save themselves --- and still are. Look at who is running the office with Ciampoli? I mean, are you kidding me? What the hell has either one of them ever accomplished ---- hacks.
mangano suksit

I'll say it :: He suks it
Big time
Lets let things run their natural course
He'll end up in jail like Baboon from Westburt
Next election
07-03-2010, 02:53 PM
Next election will be harder - there was nothing negative thrown out last year because Suozzi's people didn't even warn him he was in trouble.
Next time they'll be gunning for Mangano & the angry people posting on here because he picked Suozzi's people over them & listened to the holdovers over his Executive Leaders - they won't have his back this time.
Laughing at Eddie

Lunch at the Bar Association & sat near the County Attorney table. They did nothing but make fun of Eddie, John & the republicans. They have no respect for Lisa or Sami. They are taking all they can get. Its a disgrace.

I think I know the lawyer who started this thread, and he should take himself off the NC payroll. What a complete hypocrite!
Hypocrite
07-05-2010, 09:17 AM
I'd say the only hypocrites are the ones who got elected by our sweat, and their inner circle who got appointed with our support & then turned to the holdovers for advice & counsel and left the party people out in the cold. Its especially true for the ordinance people and for people who don't even live in Nassau and worked for NYC for 10 years previously. We were promised, literally promised - that they would be gone. And they are not only not gone, but still in management level jobs. You don't get what you want and then dismiss the people who put you there.
Hating him

He can't send the democrats packing but he can make room for his brother? Is this the one who doesn't pay taxes - how many of those people are on the payroll now?

What did any of you do for Mangano?
Sure. Many of you claimed you "campaigned" for him, but whenever I saw Eddie on the trail, he had the same rotating cast of four or five people with him. Did you really "campaign" for him? I rescued three EDs worth of campaign literature sitting in the basement of a local GOP lawyer's office and destined for the dumpster because the local "executive leader" wouldn't ask his committee "men" to distribute them. I had my kids out the weekend before with those glossy brochures. I don't expect a pat on the back or gratitude. Nobody knows I did it. I thought Ed had a shot and having actually worked on campaigns I hate to see good printing go to waste. What did you do? Showing up at a "rally" doesn't count. You didn't see me there. Going to train stations, getting out "do me a favors," making phone calls. Those things count.
So Eddie wins. He's a Republican. You're a GOPer or TOB Conservative. Now you're entitled?
Ed knows whom he owes. Probably not you. He offered nice jobs to several town employees. Ask Joe Ra or Charlie Milone. They couldn't afford the pay cuts or short term prospects of going to the county. What did Eddie get in resumes from Post Avenue? A bunch of second-rate losers without the juice to land town jobs who didn't really "campaign" for him.
Basically, Post Avenue sent over a list. If Mondello or Santino called personally, the person on that list got a job. Otherwise, some well-qualified folks got jobs with significant cuts from Suozzi's budget line salary, but most didn't. Many well-qualified Dems got to stay because Walker judged that they did their jobs better than their would-be replacements would do. Good for him. Better for the taxpayer. Remember them?
OK. You "campaigned" for Eddie in '09, didn't get a job in '10 and won't campaign for him in '13. Think he'll really miss you?

And while those 4 or 5 people were soaking up the glory, the rest of us were sending emails informing the public of who the hell this guy was & what his platform was, keeping people informed on social media pages, knocking on doors & getting signatures, establishing the tax revolt line that actually won him the election by getting enough signatures, putting up signs, going to rally's, making phone calls - tons and tons of phone calls from headquarters, from our clubs, from our houses, having fundraising & contributing money, putting up signs & riding around with bumper stickers.
Yeah - he'll miss us. And he'll miss the republican majority legislature next year when we aren't there.
Those 4 or 5 - lets see - Walker (also running his mother's legislator's campaign), Jeremy - very well taken care of, Mangano's wife, Gatto & Eldia - both realtors gonna make out real nice with this assessment plan of his & doing pretty well now. Not alot of realtors get to run agencies without any training or experience.
Walker Decided?
07-11-2010, 12:15 AM
Who is Walker to decide the democrats are better than the republicans for those jobs?
How many bills did he get passed during his years in the assembly?
So he thinks the hacks that suozzi had running the county were doing a great job?
Than he's a bigger moron than I thought he was.
And we know Mangano went running around trying to steal employees from the towns. He only got the jackass who was rescued from a long beach scandal. How stupid is he thinking these people would leave the town for the county. People from the county try to get into the towns.
They made their camp & they are becoming more hated than Suozzi - by their own people.
Oh and FYI - Mondello & Santino were ignored. They played to the conservatives, the hispanics & the hempstead set who lost their jobs 10 years ago.

How stupid are they? The reason they have their jobs is because we wanted the people they kept working out. Yeah, everyone saying Mangano was a good idea was the bonus but he's proving very quickly that he's got no integrityl And give me a fucking break. The democrats outspent the money they got in by 4 times - they did the work with twice the staff they needed & there's not a bureau in the county that did a decent job. These are the people they like? THis is good government? Then what they hell do we need them for - we should have kept Suozzi. They didn't change anyone - or anything.
Oh yes - sorry - I forgot. They put people in charge of agencies who were arrested for stealing from their own clients. People who thought they were too good to pay their taxes. People running agencies they know nothing about, nor had any management experience. Even people running agencies who didn['t even go to college. With a bunch like that - one would think the rest of the people on their list that they fucked would look good.
And if the democrats did their job well, Suozzi would still be in office.
If they are choosing the democrats who are bastards over the republicans to do the work of the county - they better be switching parties because little eddie & little robbie are in for a rocky, rocky ride.

What are you - another relative? NO, he won't miss anyone because for some reason they bought into this whole bit & think who they are. They think they can send out flyers & internet updates & win over the public without doing anything.
They are fools if they can't see how angry people are. The days of foolery are over. Suozzi couldn't see past his own head either but at least he had character. These guys don't.
The county was completely mismanaged completely and totally & if this administration thinks any appointee working for the county over the past 8 years did a good job for the taxpayers - they are dumb as bricks.
Don't hide behind the line its good for the taxpayers when the truth is they don't know what the hell they're doing & they put all the wrong people into the few jobs they did fill so they're scared to death to change out anybody else.
Don't you dare say the democrats they kept did a good job when the truth is they wouldn't know a good job if they tripped over it. We know how those people lie, manipulate & operate & the fact that the very worst of suozzi's appointees were allowed to remain shows us just what a disaster this new administration is and how very stupid and naive they really are.
Mondello never should let this team run. It wouldn't have matter who run - they would have won in the political climate they ran in & we would have worked just as hard for whoever it was running. But at least someone better would have done the right thing by us AND for the taxpayers by cleaning house & starting over.
Voting Taxpayer

The people hired & promoted over the last 2 terms did not have anywhere near the experience of the people they replaced. They are getting paid twice what their replacements earned - people with dedicated careers to nassau county & in the specific area that they had been working.
Titles were created to give promotional responsibility and increased pay to people who played nicely with the managers who sat around all day taking advantage of the county and the taxpayers.
They are nasty, arrogant frauds who fake everything from their knowledge to their personality.
The disasterous mess that became the county is proof. The increased caseload despite a tripled work staff proves not that there is more work now - but that the people now working there do less work every day and make more unnecessary work for everyone for no other reason than to justify their existence, their large staffs & their friend's huge salaries.
Keeping them employed is not doing the taxpayers any favors and don't you dare try to say that keeping the holdovers in jobs - especially at the cost of not rehiring the republicans who never deserved to be replaced by them - is good management.
Don't you dare try to sell that story.
Don't dare.

Poor judgment
07-12-2010, 02:40 PM
They have no business sense - none of them.
Management 101 - start at the top. First to go - department heads. Then the middle managers. Keep the line workers in place to carry on until your own managers are in place & up to speed THEN get rid of the line workers.
These people are taking advice from holdovers they left in the management jobs & filled some of the senior jobs with people who have the wrong qualifications or suspect backgrounds and tried getting rid of line workers who are loyal to the middle managers who hired them and vice versa
They couldn't even manage to do that without drama
2013 .... the best hope now

What's funnier is that the republican holdovers he demoted and the bastard democrats have been job hunting and one by one will leave him in a lurch because they only pretend to be helpful - they're leading them up a creak with a leaky boat instead. And the people running things are too damned stupid to know bad advice when they get it.
First hand knowledge
07-29-2010, 08:52 PM
Mangano sent people that got fired under Suozzi over to Ciampoli who has 3 holdovers on the interview committee and 1 of them is the managing attorney who participated in everyone's firing. Ciampoli doesn't even involve himself. Then they ask - do you want to go back and work in the same department you got fired from? Meanwhile, the same bureau chief, deputy bureau chief & the buddies they hired are all still working there. I mean, are they stupid or just don't really give a damn? To add insult to injury, they are asking those same suozzi era people whether or not they'd take back the republicans they fired.

Mangano gave the tax revolt party a bad rap. He ran on the line for the first time and has done nothing - the people know his plan was bull shit and his supporters aren't defending him anymore because the holdovers are still in their jobs while the campaigners are out in the cold.
Nobody would sign the petitions & people are really pissed off. They equate Mangano with the line and spit at the front door.

Mangano is making alot of money now running around posing for pictures with people he thinks will vote for him again. Don't you think he should invest in a good tailor to take the hem on his pants? I mean his suits are clearly off the rack and he's got such a beer belly yet he's so short that his pants are always dragging on the floor. He looks like he should be cleaning floors with them.

One single question
09-29-2011, 01:28 AM
When it comes time to vote there will be one single question on the voter's mind. What did Ed do for you? He screwed me and I make sure to tell every single person I ever come across precisely how. And since he did nothing for them either - aloha Eddie. And let's start this November by putting in a legislature that can keep tabs on you.
what had ed done?
10-02-2011, 07:08 PM
He's held the line on spending, reduced payroll, and is a friend to the Nassau County taxpayer.
are you nuts?
10-02-2011, 08:50 PM
He's held the line on spending, reduced payroll, and is a friend to the Nassau County taxpayer.
You should really read more than the news network mangano put together which includes 5 or 6 media people with all different job titles that he basically hired to lie to the taxpayers too. His spending habits were so bad that the State had to put an oversite committee in charge of him. And they have declined to approve every single budget he has submitted yet. The only payroll he reduced was the union workers - the low level, low paid, front line nonpolitical test taking civil servants while padding the payroll with felons, unqualified and inexperienced kids just out of college, high school educated real estate salespeople who sell real estate while also being put in charge of agencies that are bloated with hacks and perform no tangible benefits to the general taxpayer. He cost the taxpayers millions and millions in stupid lawsuits that he lost, in a referendum that he lost, in personal service contracts for his friends that he bypassed even the republican run legislature to get passed, lost the MTA service contract because he doesn't know how to negotiate, can't negotiate with the unions, told the people that campaigned for him their was a hiring freeze while piling his family and walker's family with jobs and perks - like cars. Now he's spending $25 million dollars on grass for a baseball field. Property taxes have gone up. School taxes have gone up because he ignored the guarantee and destroyed their budget and tried to get the schools and the towns to pay for the county's debts. He is being sued by 56 school districts - a lawsuit he will lose - tried to shove redistricting down the voters throats - lost that too - showing no respect for the voters themselves and chastised the taxpayers for refusing to let him borrow millions of dollars for a sports complex while doing nothing about taxes or jobs. While suffolk and queens and manhattan have eliminated or lowered their sales taxes, he wants to raise it. It is so easy to trash him because his administration has been nothing but a disgrace since the day he walked into his inaguration and starting thanking his latinos for putting him in office calling them "his people" (what's casa's budget incidentally? and what do they do?) and talking big about how he was going to partner up with north shore long island jewish. Meanwhile - he's done nothing, nothing with the medical center. Yes, I was there. And in 2013 - I'll be at the one for the democrat we are going to elect instead.

Schools have 2 separate lawsuits against the freaks. 1 because he tried pawning off the tax assessment refunds onto them and 2 because he tried stufffing their budgets with water and sewer tax charges. Either way the taxpayers keep paying. He said he had a plan to fix things. That's not a fix.

I have no problem with either of these moves.
Why should the county refund the tax overassessments? The money went to the schools, let the school district pay for it. Why should the entire county subsidize individual school districts.
I pay for my water & sewer. Why shouldn't the schools?
This way we get a truer picture of how much we are actually spending on running the schools.
If the county picks up the tab for these things it just makes the school budget look smaller than it is.

Right on brother. Mangano has done nothing for anyone but Mangano & his sidekick. He can ram all the bull he wants down everyone's throat but the voters aren't fooled and the democrats aren't going to stay quiet. His record now speaks for itself. And it aint good.

Because it's the county that's doing the assessments and screwing them up, that's why. If they just did their job right there wouldn't be refunds, would there?
