Any politician who allows his petittions to be gathered at a paint store, over the counter, is either ignorant or arrogant of the election law requirements.
In either case such an elcted politician should not be returned to public office.
Bodkin speaks out of both sides of his mouth,has no credibility amongst the majority of town wide Islip Republicans and lacks the gravitas for the position.

Bodkin in a dither he knows he does not have enough good petition signatures and knows the people who said they would support him are fadeing away.
People are afraid to support him with donations because they also will listed for public scrutiny when he files his disclousre forms.

Wow it looks like a lot of the people who based Bodkin and the other guy on here will be eating crow. To make matters even worse, people didn't even know Bodkins sidekick, to be completely honest when you remove yourself from the situation because Flotterton received such convincing numbers over Boyle; Bodkin was not only powerfull, but had huge coat tails as well.

You want to talk about big mouths? take a look at your egocentric idol. He FINALLY got what was coming to him. As far as the party goes...obviously the party is behind Chris Bodkin (see the results). i don't say that only mcgowan was able to do it, but it needs a hell of respect for him.

McGowan was a cranky low-life. Just like LaValle, he thought he was invincible. They can try to run things from "behind the scenes" but their influence has soured. We, as Republicans need to bring the party back and to do that we need to purge the towns of self-serving party bosses who put up candidates that line their pockets. LaValle destroyed the Brookhaven GOP. McGowan was a spiteful, punishing, destructive leader who needed to go. Withers, although a very nice man, is a weak leader I'm afraid, just like Acampora. He all but forgot that we needed to keep that Assembly seat and let it go to the Dems while making Bodkin into a r. LaValle, (a McGowan wannabe) split the Brookhaven GOP into so many factions, it's almost irreparable. Withers, although still loyal to McGowan, needs to do what's best for County Republicans, even though it may tick off his old friend. Brookhaven is a mess. Don't let this happen to Islip. Republican survival depends on it.

The next step for Islip should be to remove trunzo from his position as chair for the town. With that done, then the focus can be shifted to rebuilding the town party. mcgowan isn't talking b/c he is reeling trying to figure out how to save the last of his "fifedom"...oh and how his warchest is going to be spent too I'm sure 'cause he can't take it with him.

The party should then correct mcgowan's claim that he made MacArthur what it is today. REMOVING his name from the terminal would be a good start b/c it NEVER should have been named for him in the first place. that is a tool he is currently using to connect himself to the successes of the airport.

I suggest returning to the tradition of designating that honor to HONORABLE individuals such as Men and Women who serve our country in the armed forces (MacArthur) or dedicating it to those lost on 9/11. Our community lost many good people and THEY deserve to be remebered by our community much much more than the present supervisor.

By the way, do know what percentage the taxes from the town makes up in your total tax biil? 3%. so "WOW!", my 12 cents a day hasn't changed in 13 years. you should be concerned about your taxes, your understanding of of your tax bill is lacking. Learn more so you can speak from an informed perspective.

I am ECSTATIC that the truth is coming out about mcgoon and changing our town for the better!

There are Republicans who want decent and honest men and women holding public office. But I guess if you are concerned about taxes, that view is different huh? You'll vote in the person who keeps your taxes from rising...even if he is not doing things in the best interest of the town right? For instance, what happened to "The Plan...it's working"? Word and recent activites indicate there never was one...oh, except the plan to repeal term limits so he could continue his reign over his fifedom.
