Does anyone know the noise ordinance for NC or ToH? I've tried searching both websites but to no avail.

Trying to figure out when its appropriate to call in complaints for partying neighbors.

11pm weekdays---midnight weekends I believe. But unreasonable noise in not permitted. Just call the police and have them warn the neighbors...if they come back a 2nd time they get a summons.

how about you pull your skirt up and ask your neighbors to keep it down instead of calling the police for every little problem in your life.

whenever it becomes unreasonable, use your judgement. If its that bad your neighbors are probably calling also, unless they are at the party. Have to use some judgementbecuse it is summer but sometime after 12 pm the band needs to go off. There is also an ordinance for the level of sound going to your property.

I would recommend calling the desk sargent in your district rather than tieing up 911.

Hispanics think it is New York City and blast the speakers well into the morning of the next day. NCPD wont do anything to upset the voting bloc. The County might get sued - Boo Hoo! Boo Hoo!

The only noise law in this County that works is North Hempstead's. Tell your Town people to look at it.

First - Most lots are 60x100, unless you live in Point Lookout.....

Second - Laws are enacted so they can be enforced. No one should be expected to move out of Nassau County because officials aren't doing their job to keep law and order. People need to have their rights are protected and insist officials do what they are paid to do.

wow 60x100 i better get out my ride on lawnmower.

and get your facts straight they aren't laws they are town ordinances. so stop calling the police for nonsense, call the town and demand a code enforcement officer. think about it cops tied up on b.s. will take longer to get to you or your family if god forbid a real emergency is taking place.

You are right, people SHOULDN'T have to move because Nassau County officials aren't doing their job. But, unfortunately, thats the way it is. Our police department thinks they are beneath helping residents. They are given too much discretion, and they are not handling that authority very well. Their union has given them too big an ego.

So, we now pay for red light cameras, because police were not doing their job, and letting all their friends go unpunished, while putting people's lives in danger. Why is it everyone but the police knew our roads were becoming increasingly dangerous? Everyone seems to have a "near miss" story every day upon coming to work. Lots of these occurences have taken place in front of police cars who then do nothing.

As to the first resident who asked for help, you are better off calling the Town of Hempstead for advice about your problem. You'll get no where with the lazy 8th. I wish Dennis Dunne would speak up to the police commisioner on our behalf and get things to turn around. Here's the number and address:

Public Safety Department
200 North Franklin Street
Hempstead, New York 11550
(516) 538-1900

Kate Murray also has a helpline you can call, or email. The response from her office is quick.

The taxes are too high here to not enjoy your property. Good luck to you!

Dennis Dunne only takes orders from Peter Schmitt and Joe Mondello. Dunne is not an independent thinker. I wouldnt trust him to deliver GOP mail to Post Avenue even if he is standing across the street.

Blower Noise

The gardeners are bad enough and they all show at different times so what should have been a peacefull saturday turns into one continuous noise from 8 to 4PM. That's bad enough but many homeowners pull out their own blowers to get those 10 leaves that fell on their lawn the next day.

Does anyone know what the noise standard is for blowers? I can see why some communities are thinging of banning them.
