The State is broke, (when budget deficits exceed state income) they have to pay massive retirement pensions.

Oh pleeeease!

The pension fund is well funded.....

The states problems have ZERO to do with pensions.

Remember the states problems came from Wall Street Greed....nice try.

If I didn't mow my lawn the Town of Hempstead would fine me. Why isn't the state subject to the same rules? It is an eyesore and a public health risk.

The state is too proud to hire illegals; plus this would anger contractors by causing a shortage and driving up prices. Although the contractors and their illegal employees don't pay taxes the contractors do buy tickets to political dinners and such.

The rational solution is for the state to contract out all the services it can. This will lower budget costs and make the contributors even happier.

Sorry but this idea is too good to ignore so don't get nasty.

Now here is a big time savings. Although all these guys probably speak English I ask so what?

Young Hispanics from over there could gradually replace all of them; they could move south and work the border.

There are big savings all over. Why exempt only those whose salary is paid by the taxpayers?

Teachers? Forgettaboutit. Most of them can't speak Spanish. What savings.

Seems like lots of chiefs and no Indians on a small job.

How do they justify 2 detective/Lt's?

The same way schools districts justify 20 vice principals and asst superentendents making over $150K each.

That flies-in-the face of every police command structure in the country. Even NYPD detective squads only have one boss (OIC).

NYPD policing is a joke....all they care about it tickets and fighting the previous years felonies. You're lucky if your local pct puts out 1-2 cars on patrol.
