Like him or hate him, my opinion has not been made up yet as it's too early, you got to give Ed Mangano credit. He inherited Suozzi's problems, mainly the disasterous budget problems, and he has the class not to continualy place the blame where it is deserved.

He's about as classy as Suozzi is for not second-guessing, nor commenting on his successor's actions. Same with G.W. Bush.

But, here we are 5 months into his term and what has he done to solve the financial problems he "inherited?" Not much.

I mean, how much "credit" can a politician claim for cutting a heating oil tax (Reagan's & Bush's tax cuts were popular too) that exploded the deficit? Propose a gambling operation (without mentioning the certainty of organized crime, prostitution, gambling addiction, etc.) is no cause for celebration either.

Besides that, what has he done to address the structural budget gap? Maybe he could ask his Comptroller for some help, except that guy is so full of himself for pulling off a surprise win in November that he thinks he's U.S. Senate material!

Mangano? Not very impressive so far.

So far, Mangano is doing a good job. It amkes you wonder with his casino plan, which one of his GOP friends will stand to benefit from the real estate transaction? Did Steady Eddy need to mail his 100 day color brochure with Kate Murray to every resident? That must have cost a pretty penny.
