View Full Version : Dormer does it again
SC Resident
03-21-2005, 10:42 AM
As most people have heard - Extreme Makeover is helping out John Vitale - a St. James resident, SCPD officer who lost his wife to leukemia last year.
Well, when Dick Dormer heard that it would require a police presence to control traffic due to curious onlookers - he ordered the 4th PCT. to back off and not send any patrol cars. Word got out of this and suddenly D.D. changed his mind and decided to send cars to control traffic.
1. I'm sure Levy or someone else got wind of his decision and ordered him to send in the police to help out - which I think everyone would agree is the right thing to do.
2. This is a Suffolk County PO. Dormer initial unwillingness to help out really shows his true colors of how he has no idea how to be the leader of the SCPD.
Levy should take his lumps like a man and fire Dormer and admit he has made a colossal mistake in judgment by appointing him.
If Levy got involved and I agree he most likely did - its only because of his need and ego for press coverage. Also I'm not sure which one it is , but either his (Levy's) sister or sister in law lives on the same block that the house is being redone and they most likely bitched to him to help out too!
Hes probably jeaulous they did redo his haircut.....I mean house

There but for the grace of God go you and others !! Get a friggin grip. You want the makeover, APPLY!! I cannot believe I'm actually reading that garbage. I truly don't believe those posters were on the job. Have just a bit of common decency, John lost his wife to cancer at a young age with 3 little ones. He's a damn good man, father and cop! God Bless him and his family! The rest of you go bitch elsewhere

I have long respected your views and opinions. But I still stand behind my statements. yes he is a Good father and a very good officer. [ as his record shows].
But again I say at what point does it stop. How does a sod lawn, and a FREE 23 foot boat benenfit his children ?
Now if those gifts do help, why then don't other single Parent officers receive the same gifts.
I would like to ask a serious question??? OK ??
I was under the impression that Police officers were not allowed to receive FREE gifts. [Remember the free coffee thing?] 825K is a big jump.
At what point would YOU the person in charge draw the LINE?

He won a contest fair and square. Nothing to do with his job. Police arent allowed to receive free gifts on duty. Off duty they can win a contest, a raffle a drawing, lotto, or whatever.
He won a contest, I dont know if he entered it or a family member entered it for him, anyone could have won. He deserves a good break, like anyone else, forget what kind of job he has. He has 3 kids under the age of 6(?), he is probably around 30 years old, and he buried his 28 year old wife, think he would trade the house to have her back?

Good for him. He deserves whatever he gets. Boat sod etc. I'm sure the guy would live in a damn shack to have his wife back. So grow up people!!!!

Blue not mean , you are mean . and an asshole too ! Like the other posters stated this has nothing to do with accepting unlawful gratuities. It's like a contest. Someone submitted him and they chose him from probably hundreds of other applicants. Shows you how much they felt for him. If you watch the show on a regular basis you will see that they really do give more than just a new house renovation. They always lavish gifts upon the families. Another thing , you have no idea how much a catastrophic illness can set back a family . Both financially , and emotionally . Even with good health plans you can still run up 100 K or more easily. So why don't you just shut up. you sound alot like our asshole of a PC with your stupid comments.
what a bunch of aholes. i can not believ im reading htis crap. go to hell u bastards. somethign good happens to someone cant we just be happy. but no. cop hatin bastardds wanna make a bittch. god bless john and his family, and his new home. rot in hell the rest of u.

Your line of questioning makes it clear, you arent a cop. We know the difference between a free cup of coffee on duty or a gift or prize off duty.
This isnt about being a SINGLE parent, this is about a FAMILY that lost a member. Anyone can choose to be a single parent, either by not getting married and having children, or unprotected sex, or by getting a divorce.
People in that situation should not say a word, that is a choice you made, losing your wife to cancer isnt a choice. Anyone who bitches and moans about what a shit their ex is or how he or she doesnt support you or your kids, or how abusive he or she was to either you or your kids, it still was your choice to get involved with that person. Its the children that should complain, not the parents.
The only people who I would understand complaining are others who lost a spouse, that is completely normal.
But, I am not suprised, it is so typical LONG ISLAND attitude, what about me, how come he got it and not me,wah wah wah. No fair, wheres mine? Who's going to do for me? Bitch and Moan

Great point. You can always find a new boy or girlfriend, a new wife or husband, the old one still pays child support, and can be a parent to the kids, unless he or she is trash and then you are better off without them anyway.
How do you replace a mother? How do these 3 little boys deal with their mom dying before they even got to know her, their whole life she was probably sick, and they will remember her that way, if they even can remember her.
all po's should stop responding to this piece of shiit. this thread should be closed. its a disgrace. god bless john and his family.

I agree lets close this . The question that is going to come back and bite us in the butt is.
Should every officer who has lost a spouse get a $800,000 house ?
I know John ,although not very well. I hope he can get passed the loss of his wife. I feel the media and front office should have played this matter in a different light.
gotta be in it to win it

This has nothing to do with being a cop, he entered a contest, he won stop being jealous.
Out of all the jealous minions crying in this forum, how many entered the contest?
Can anyone truthfully say they entered the contest?
I doubt it, in fact I know no one did.He won the makeover, he deserved it. Get over it, move on with your life.

First of all he did not enter this contest. Many people who know him and saw a need entered him into this contest. Blue not mean is dangerously stupid!!! Like many on this thread have stated be happy for him, and do not give in to your jeaslousy moron!!!!

Even better, he didnt even ask for it, all you ''single parents'' had the same opportunity he did, but no one cared to enter you, go suck a lemon
Next weeks show has a couple who adopted 11 children. They won the renovation, I suppose all who adopted 11 kids would be upset that they werent picked. I also suppose not 1 of the people who didnt get picked is from l.i. Adopting 11 kids is far too selfless a act. No lier would do it.
It was his mother in law who got the ball rolling to help him and her grandchildren. So grow up!
