scpd & ncpd college credits

I am fairly sure I will need a 2 year degree for the suffold PD , is that correct ?

with regard to ncpd I was told by different people a 2 and 4 year degree to be hired. Which is it ?

not sure about nassau but when I went through several years ago with suffolk they didn't require any college credits.

Not anytime soo. Nassau took 9 years ...Suffok a few less.

21 years old, a GED or HS diploma and a drivers license. If the requirements were any tougher Levy couldn't appoint his children of the rainbow coalition or the politically connected.

Future applicant: the last post left out something very important as it pertains to SCPD...move into a "high crime neighborhood" (see newsday or call Levy's office for the exact communities. Keep it up Stevie, you'll have this place running like NYPD soon (No offense to my brother and sister POs in NYC)

You speak the truth. The NYPD has lowered its standards. Not that it doesn't attract many highly qualified recruit....but they have let the mutts in as well...just to fill a quota. I'm sure Mr Liberal Levy will do the same with SCPD and destroy that job as well.

32 credits to get hired and 4 years of college in order to reach top pay. not having your 4 years of college is NO reason not to take the job .... the difference between top pay and the second to last pay step is nominal. top pay will take you 8 years to reach anyway, so take the job and get your extra credits while working
