Steve Levy was right saying that public employees should fund their own retirement plan. The public employees receive way too many benefits and the taxpayer has to bear this burden.
That's why the Tea party will fight to stop the excessive pay and benefits received by all public employees.
1-Call your county legislators to tell them to end this excessive use of taxpayers money on public employee benefits!
2-We most all vote down every school budget!
3-Call your local town officials and tell them every time and location you see a road crew sitting and doing nothing in their trucks! FIX THE ROADS!
4-We also need to dissolve Social Security these taxes are way to high (nearly 13%) Higher then what most people pay in Income tax.
We all know there is tremendous waste in this country any time you see a public employee sitting around he 's wasting taxpayers money this includes texting, reading a book or newspaper or even surfing the web (This includes shopping, computer games or porn)
This is just a few of the taxes that you can help with the Tea Party to eliminate or reduce

I really hope you dont represent the tea party honestly. Im a public employee, and I dont agree with all the waste either, but im also a human being. Just like you im entitled to a break. Just like you I have a life outside of my job, just because you pay taxes which pay for my salary doesn't mean you own me like a slave and have the right to treat me less than human. Are you perfect? Do you not have down time at work? A bad day where your a little tired? You dont text your kids, wife, husband, etc? So is this the purpose of the tea party to eliminate text messaging by public employees? You sound like your wasting your time going after the little guy.

While im serving you, the mostly unthankful public, I am also working weekends, nights, holidays. Maybe two weeks ago when you saw me texting at 7 pm when most other people are home with their families, I was getting updates from my wife who was at the vet with our family dog that was being put to sleep.

Maybe the next day you saw me doing nothing because i simply wasnt in the fucking mood! And maybe a week later when you saw me sitting on the side of the road on the phone it was to listen to my 9 year old daughter cry about our dog dying, while trying to fight my own tears? Maybe it was my guilt that I cant be there with the family and miss out on soccer practice, homework, and dinner because I dont get to work a 9-5 job like you in your perfect world! As I said if the main focus of a tea party is go after public employees who appear to be acting like human beings then you are all really pathetic!

I dont agree with government either, especially the government that employs me! I would probably agree with you on most issues. You are absolutely right, there is a lot of waste of taxpayers money and we all agree that things could be done more efficiently. But also remember the little guy sitting on the side of the road texting on his cellphone doesn't have much say, and if he tries to speak up how a better job could be done or works too hard he will probably get in trouble. So if you want real progress and you really care about your issues go after the elected officials that walk around like Gestappo's and cause all the waste in the first place!

Actually teabagger is a liberal sexual practice which became a wink wink joke of the sophisticated elite.
I am a public employee and agree with much of the tea party platform.
Opinons on here tend to be a little extreme and don't represent the core of a group.
Debt, government debt must be whittled down, just like your own personal finances must be managed, so should government debt. That is the main thrust of the tea party.

Healthcare is a totally different animal. If The Obama and the Dems wanted to provide healthcare to the 30 million or so without it, they could have done so directly. No, they wanted control of the whole damn system, the health care and insurance you had yesterday will not be there for you in 5 years, guaranteed.
The most important time for the tea party to show up will be in November, I will be there, and so will they, in large numbers. All the college kids and Obama worshippers from 2008 will not be there, there is a change in the air, dare I say, Hope and Change!!

The above quote can also be judged as a racist and bigoted remark by an angry and disturbed person.

Public employees are indeed just like everyone else. Many of us are tired of the higher taxes "they were not lowered" and of the wasteful spending and corrupt practices of many government officials. Both parties were to blame but now it's the Democrats who are running away like crazy causing this astronomical national debt. Most government workers do work hard but some and especially in the 6 figure bracket do not. This should change. Nor should over time be used to pad your retirement or to double triple or quadruple your salary. The Tea party is here to stay. The more politicians and liberals in general attack them, the more the party will grow.

Took a shot at AG Andrew Cuomo’s recent presentations on how overtime in final years systematically boost veteran public employees’ pensions: “Some are going around saying let’s re-identify the problem. I’m saying let’s come up with a solution.” He cited cops in Suffolk sometimes making $200,000 and full-salary disability deals.
- Related Cuomo’s status of being an AG with high polling and flush financing as so similar it is “eerie” to that of Eliot Spitzer in 2006, but insisted again that voters are looking for his fiscal skill-set this time in the governor’s race.
- Challenged Cuomo to say, rather than cite a crackdown “on some charity or something like that,” what in his background qualifies him as a tax-cutter. “These other candidates,” Levy said, are reluctant to “chip away” at special interest support.
- Repeated his warning that the pension system is on the verge of imploding and cited some 401k recipients are guaranteed an 8 percent rate of return regardless of the market, assured by the pension system.

Thatswhat govt is for ,infrastructure,roads,public safety,not to tell me I cant see that dr anymore.

I am already paying for the 30 million, let me keep on paying for them in some format, but do not ever let this government anywhere near control of the health industry. Doctors have spoken, they are leaving the field, will not accept new Medicare and Medicaid patients, health care will be rationed.
Govt set pay rates are forcing Dr's out or they won't cover Medicare and Medicaid.
The 30 million may or may not show up, but the 100 million voters who had their health care plan changed, jeopordized by this law, and premuims increase don't feel the same way. This bill has a 60 - 40 negative approval across the country. You dont mess with the majorities health care, make it worse and more expensive to insure 30 million. You just figure out a way to insure if you must the 30 million without reducing my health coverage.

And in November, I'll be there, and the Obama, he has already put out the call yesterday for the college kids, the minorities, the women, to support the Dems in November. Damn, he left out the white males and Asians!
Well, the college kids ain't voting, without the Obama on the ticket the minorities ain't voting, some Hope and Change is in the air for America!

And to add insult to injury he increased the county portion of the tax bill!

LAst i checked Government was not in the business of saving money but collecting taxes for the benifit of the taxpayers

Rainy day fund was tapped last year fo 30 million, And it will be tapped again this year.
When sales taxes fall far short of their optimistic predictions they will again need to tap the rainy day fund.
The rainy day fund is not increasiing, it is being utilized for exactly the reason it was created, extreme financial emergency!

He is still going after that county nursing! What is wrong with him ? He never knows when to stop ..So that is why he will not make it to albany and he will not make his next term to County Executive!

The County should stick to fixing roads, police, essencial services. NURSING? WTF is the County doing running a hospital? Leave that to the private sector where it belongs.

Certain things do not belong in the private sector and running a nursing home is one of them!!The folks at folely are doing a great job and the residents ae getting the care they deserve..not sub standard!!!!!!!And that is tax dollars really at work!!!!Not contracts that if you are a friend you got the job.....

Sorry Charlie, the County taxpayers shouldn't be supporting a jobs program for a bunch of failed nurses and ordelys who couldn't secure a real job in the private healthcare sector.

If the county can't provide for ALL of those who need to be in a nursing home, it shouldn't provide for ANY. Not fair to those who didn't make the cut.

Speak like an ass? The County has a Community College - iit's called the 13th grade. WHY? We already have SUNY why does Suffolk need to provide an alternative?

We have a County bus system, why? This is suburbia, If you can't afford a car, move to a borough of NYC! When 1/2 the employers in Suffolk hear their employees have to quit, they'll increase wages. As it is now, taxpayers are subsidizing them for cheap labor.

Why will the public be outraged? I don't think so. How many people in the County have relatives in a County nursing home, and how many have relatives in private nursing homes. Thank you.
