Hey Rick Brand

How about an expose about how Levy has raised taxes this year by 3% to hire a class of 200 cops and refuses to hire such cops.
Journalistic credibility....Got any????

I apologize....I thought you meant Levy was doing a good job. Rick Brand is a good man. Unfortunately, he has restrictions placed on him about what is is permitted to say about Levy. The restrictions are imposed by the owners of Newsday, who also own News12. Guess getting that true facts is going to be problematic!!

Levy didn't raise taxes, the legislature did it and had to override his veto to do so. Get your facts straight before shooting your mouth off.

No, if the legislature voted for it, let them investigate it. It was their priority. Ask them first. See what answer you get before throwing stones.

3% only covers the raises they just settled on. The entire force is getting 3% , 3%, and 3% so - there's your increase.

What do you want, the police to get a 3% raise, your property taxes to remain as they were since Levy's 1st election AND get 200 more cops?

Geez, how dumb you Long Islanders are.

Are you suggesting that the an objective media should have no role in keeping government transparent and honest? A politician raised taxes, justified it by promising to hire cops and then didn't. That's called lying and the media should certainly call him to task for it.

Why is it that NewsRag required all of its employees, from editors down to delivery drivers, to sign non-disclosure agreements? Why are the good reporters leaving in droves, while others see their good work get chopped to bits? And they have the nerve to call themselves a newspaper? It's a political newsletter, nothing more.

They can bring it to light, but the first one to hold accountable is the legislature, especially if they did a veto override.
And if that is what really occurred, then that is why Newsday isn't covering it, it isn't detrimental to little Stevie
