Ok, after the Jim Garner slaying, it is time for your republicans to listen up. You have problems, big problems and they are not going away anytime soon.

You guys never learn from your own mistakes. If you think you are going to run the same tired lines that the people haven't been buying since 1999, you are very mistaken.

Rule 1. - If you think you are going to win by running negative against Suozzi, you are wrong. His positives are around 75%. Hate to tell you, the people of Nassua like him.

Rule 2. - Have a point. What does Peterson plan to do other than "not be Suozzi." Get out of your club meetings and actually talk to your neighbors again.

Rule 3. - Recognize that in 1999 you lost the trust of the people of Nassau. You have to earn it back. Bull***t posts about "NYC Hacks" are not the way to regain that trust.

Rule 4. - Come to grips with the fact that it was the GOP that brought Nassau to ruin. Accept it, take reposnsibility for it and explain to the voters how you will do it differently if elected to power again. And try to do it without saying "Suozzi."

Rule 5. - You are going to have to sacrafice some of your sacred cows. The reason that Nassau is in this mess is largely due to the police contracts negotiated by Gulotta and the unfunded state mandates negotiated by Dean Skelos.

If you feel the absolute need to attack Suozzi, why don't you talk about his getting driven around by a full-time detective. Remember "Driving Mr. Gulotta." Turn it back on him. FOIL about the use of photographers. He has used it as much as Gullota. Ask about the trips upstate. Did the detective go with him? How much time has he spent out of county. And of course the big question that should be on everyone's lips are "You are asking the voters of Nassau for their committment. Are you committed to finishing a 4 year term?"

I see your point

What I want to know is whether or not Suozzi forced the police drivers to drive him on all his trips into Queens and Upstate New York and into Pennsylvania while campaigning for himself for Governor and for Lavine and for Bush's opposition and all his other campaigning activities which had nothing to do with his work for Nassau County. I'd also like to know how he handles those trips - I mean - does he call in sick or take a vacation day or does he consider a regular day in the course of his work as county executive. They go after Larry Schaeffer in the Sheriff's Department and they attack welfare people for using housing money to buy food but who goes after the County Executive when he's stealing time?
