Patchogue Wake Up
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello is anyone home???? Right beneath our noses a scandal is apparently brewwing, at P-M Schools, and not a peep from anyone on these boards.
Have we become so numb to these scandals that Millions of our dollars can be pissed away and no one blinks an eye.
Urging all residents to wake up and ask questions at next BOE meeting Its only your money and your kids that are being deprived

Not only is money unaccounted for, with the unauthorized hiring of 24 consultants, and unauthorized bank accounts. But now the board is talking double digit tax increases$$$$$$$$
You have to wonder if they think there is a money tree in every residents back yard. Year after year, and they have no problem doling out huge raises to administrators, and unknown consultants.
They hired an interim buisness manager because they suspended the one they had after scandal broke. They pay interim $600.00 per day, and of course they consider him/her a consultant. This is truely the worst school board this district has ever had.
But alsa they resort to scaring the parents by cutbacks and increasing class size. Of course they blame the state for all of it That always works well for their cause.
It's time to say goodbye

I read in LI Advance that P_M will be paying new Supt. $200,000.00. Plus I assume All the bennies you can cram into a contract.
Life is great. Hopefully we get hit with a 10% tax increase, or more. I love to turn my hard earned money over to these guys who are obviously in desperate need. Maybe we'll even continue to get failing state report cards too. What a country!

I found these threads by accident after reading the entertaining Patchogue what's up thread under villages. I love the new superintendent of schools - I may not agree with him about everything but he's very honest, and he says what he means and means what he says unlike his predecessor who would BS you to death with lies and half truths just so she didn't have to deal with you. Dr. McDermott's final package wound up being over $220k dollars thanks in part to the previous board who voted to give her 3% increase at the top of the year and another 5% increase at Raby and Nett's last meeting. (they also gave the Assis Super for Instruction a 20,000 dollar increase).

Mr. Mostow is over the retirement age so this saves the district money in retirement contributions and he already has his health insurance covered by the district he retired in. Since he's a new employee of the district depending on his contract, he won't be able to buy back the amount of sick days Dr. McDermott did. This decision saves the community A LOT OF MONEY -So what are you talking about merner?

Retired Administrator

As a retired business official and a graduate of Pat-Med, I can't even describe how dysfunctional this district has become.

IT IS NOT the business officials responsiblity (ever!) to file for exemptions for consultants. I have never filed one in my 25 years on the job! Nor do they "typically" keep track of the contracts that special education consultants sign with the special education department! NO WAY! Not in a district this large. Business Officials have little to do with the state and federal money that these contracts are based upon!!

This business official is a good guy! He is the victim of a low level political witch hunt. Also, there are always plently of vacant bank accounts left open in all districts to take advantage of CD rates - always! To not have them is negligent. There is of course ZERO proof of wrong doing. ZERO!

Who would want to work here? You would have to be pretty darn desperate to take an administrative job here. This BOE is self-destructing right before your eyes.

Marran should resign.
01-17-2006, 09:15 AM
Its more than unopened bank accounts and administrators working without waivers.

What retired administrator portrayed Marran's suspension as a low level political witch-hunt I believe maybe one of the only things this BOE has done right.

What I heard that auditor speak of about playing games with paying bills, and the mess the business office created has eroded any confidence I have in Jim and his competence and integrity.

Don,t be suprised if and when the new board .And they make 5 story joe the new boe pres. He will try to have Mostow removed with no regard what it will coast the tax payer. To save his good, honest and great bussiness friends.his only concerns are not the students(he has no kids) or the tax payer (he pays no tax)just his friends the teachers and the people at boces.IF THAT HAPPENS I WILL BE MOVING TO A DISTRICT WHERE PEOPLE WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE STUDENTS GRADES AND SUCCESS

02-01-2006, 06:47 AM

hey bad bad 4 -

the issues with waivers is part of the William Floyd indictment! An administrator who worked in one position, retired and then returned as a consultant in the same capacity without a waiver from the state. So your insinuation that its just a paperwork/administrative oversight is evidently not washing well with the DA. Hope Marran doesn't call you as a character witness lol.

Its bigger than the bank accounts.

Its manipulating figures, its allowing people who don't work for the district to authorize payments and sign check, its about giving contracts to buddies and associates. Its just one of the pleasantries that the good ole DA has got snatched in his web of deception.

"He's a good guy..." "the victim of a political witchhunt." I guess the comptroller and the DA and the feds are all in this conspiracy that Weeks and Felouzis just happened to cook up lol. That's some power they've got...if their influence reaches all these government agencies.

IT DIDN'T HURT AS BADLY AS THIS FABULOUS REPLY TO YOUR FOOLISHNESS. The issue in Pat-Med is much much deeper than waivers for retired employees. Now we're looking at willful maneuverings and other issues that could be violations of state educational law all the way up to federal law when it comes to the mismanagament of spending with the federal grants.
