Sooooo...the new Mayor-elect proudly states on Channel 12 and elsewhere that he had help from the Democratic Party.
I thought that these were supposed to be local elections. What the heck is a national party and it's massive resources doing "helping" in a village election?
Give the Democrats a Dfor their miserable, underhanded ways.

Why are GOP supporters mostly morons? Getting help from the local, not national, party is what villages do. The parties may call themselves something else, but they are still the patronage grabbing Dems and Reps we know and despise. If you buy the "different label must be different people" hocus-pocus, then I have a bridge in Brooklyn (or a new suburban "vision") to sell you.
lol....please the Democrats and Republicans always help in Village elections....Hall got massive help in Hempstead and won. Jordan in Freeport got massive help from the Democrats, but lost......the Republicans could not overcome the anger in Hempstead, but were able to muster the troops in Freeport to get the win. It is just how it is. Why are people so surprised?

I wonder what the two cab owners are going to do since they had garner roof signs and bumper stickers on their cabs. I bet the new mayor will let other cab companies in Hempstead afterall from personal experience I know I cant ever get a cab there.

Bustling College Town

Hall is such a Suozzi man. Another lunatic with an unrealistic vision. The guy wants to have a bustling college town in Hempstead Village. Could you see that? Hofstra University could give orientation packets to all the incoming freshman which consists of martial arts training, an emergency cell phone programed for the DEA, an automatic weapon and a curfew requiring them all to be in the dorm rooms as night starts to fall. I mean - doesn't he think Hempstead village has a few OTHER problems he should probably be working on before trying to build a bunch of bars for college kids to get killed in? I mean, maybe he oughta be getting rid of the gang there, the drug dealers, and clean up the disgusting tenement buildings and the undesirables who live there. THEN maybe he can talk about trapping young, out of town kids in the village with some chance of survival. Idiots.
