Nobody should be building jails. Jails don't solve anything. They are just a place where people get thrown away because society doesn't want to deal with them.

The racist courts don't want to deal with social issues like poverty so they put people in jail. Jails are full of people of color. They get stuck in the system and they never get out. The courts make sure of that. People who don't speak English get thrown away. African-Americans get thrown away. Latinos get thrown away. Kids grow up without parents because they get thrown away.

Don't give your money to building jails. Put the money into WIC and health clinics and FAN and good programs. Build housing. Build parks. Set up alternative schools. Don't build jails.

I have to agree with the last poster. I always considered myself to be a fair and reasonable person. But Bertha is much to radical. Easy to make those generalized statements even though they are not true.

If Bertha really feels that way why do people like her, like our open border policy with Mexico? We import the poorest of the poor and then Bertha complains. Why doesn't she go down to Mexico and tell the Mexican government to start spending their billions of dollars on there own people. Then perhaps she could claim to be a sincere leftist.

Why should I go to MExico? What's wrong with immigrants? What is too radical? What is a sincere leftist? Your dismissive and condeschending remarks just prove my point. You look down on my ideas because you are a racist. You look down on Latinos because you are a racist. You tell me to go to Mexico because you are a racist. YOu should know that the world has more people of color. And they make babies. One day, there will be no racism because the whole world will be people of color. Until then, racists will keep trying to jail and exile and keep down we people of color.
