What is going on with the Middle School now? I heard the opening is being postponed for another year!?! The residents of East Islip have sure made one hell of a mistake by voting these guys in. Hopefully the logical people out number the illogical people when each member comes up for re-election and we can get some real brains involved.

First off the purpose of my post was to find out how true this rumor was and in hopes someone would know more and from a reliable source. Secondly I might have insulted the Board Members, but I wouldn't run myself because I know I couldn't do the best job. It is like when you critique the President of the United States, you might insult policies of his but you know you can't run yourself. I am willing to admit I am not the best candidate for the role, however, they aren't either. They haven't done the worst job, but not the best. I didn't start "BULL SHIT" I stated what I heard and wanted to see if anyone else heard a similar report. Have you ever called the District before? If it is a question the person that answers the phone doesn't know then you are never going to find out because you get shuffled between different people and finally are told to just call someone else in the District or use email.

The people that have been truly starting arguments here are the people like you using Caps Lock or using inappropriate language such as "bullshit" or calling me an "asshole". I am not going to continue to justify myself to someone who obviously doesn't have a firm grasp of the English Language such as yourself nor am I going to change the subject from the point of this post by continuing any such argument.

I have spoken to many parents about real issues, not issues like yours about the "CAP LOCK". Parents who have had problems with there kids being bullied or other safety concerns and they all credit a certain board member with making sure all of there needs are addressed and it is consensus among them that this man goes above and beyond what is normal to asure parents that there issues are taken care of. I can't remember an event I went to and didn't see him there. He is extremely approachable and brutily honest. So if I were you I would walk over to him r any other board member when you see them and ask them any question you have. See what they say, ask them what they have done during there spare time an you may learn something or possibly gain an appreciation for what they do. By the way I believe the President is well compensated for his job. :roll:

I've been involved in school bids and construction for over two decades and from what I see daily is they are on schedule.Even should they be behind schedule,all districts build into the bid,a completion date delay penalty which is quite costly to a contract firm.
343....I do not know how many projects you've seen but the quality of work certainly outweighs any corner-cutting.
You all need to focus on things more important....

Actually I heard a similar thing, but I heard a lack of money was involved. 343, I don't know if you heard of why but that is what I was told is the problem.

I don't know how true this is, so don't take my post that literal. Hopefully this only remains as hear say and nothing more, but I wouldn't completely eliminate the thought of a postponement.

Any and all construction monies are state secured and can only be approved beforehand by a bond vote and therefore must be spent,by law, only for what it is earmarked for.So any rumors you hear are by disgruntled employees with too much idle time or idle mothers who are afflicted with moldspores between their ears is nonsense.

What I meant and forgot a few keys words in that statement. I meant to basically say that the money for construction is fine, the problem is operation.

I wasn't paying too much attention to what I was typing at the time, so sorry for the confusion.

But you still need a reinforcement in school, the students could simply have no respect for some of the authority in school because they(school) dont' present themselves as possible Authority. I am not saying that it doesn't start at the home, just not all the time, there are those people that in their nature push all "weak" authority. I say "weak" because the authority seems that to some of those people, it isn't my opinion in calling the school weak.

I just wanted to know with out causing trouble at the Board Meeting or a PTA meeting. I just wanted to hear if there were any other rumors out there before I started going around asking questions and possibly causing more trouble at a meeting. Word around the schools is that they will not compromise to ease the budget crisis. What happened to them always saying "It's For The Kids"? I guess that just sounds good. One of the men tries to cater to the teachers union and another one is a community activist who seems to be representing the neighborhood. As a parent with a few children in the schools, I am appauld by how the mothers of this town drive. Besides the fact you feel you can make illegal turns wherever the heck you want, you also use your cell phones while driving thru the school area.

Guess what, I have a plan. I will be sitting out there taking pictures and recording plate numbers, which I will gladly present to the school district, and local authorities. I will embarass all of you who think you can do what you feel like doing.
