It seems the NH Dems are in a panic. They are fearful of their chances in NH, especially after the Council District debacle. So in order to inoculate themselves, they are trying to convince DiNapoli to run for Supervisor.

They also have done an estimate on the cost of Sumitomo and they choked . . .

The knees are shakin'

Fear is a marvelous thing . . .

Tom:

From someone that knows, admires and likes you: do some due diligence about the fiscal condition of the Town before you decide to go for it. It is a lot worse than you think. Almost a no win situation.

Far worse than Nassau County since most of the Town's revenue (more than 50%) will go to pay debt service, AND DEBT SERVICE ALONE, far into the future. There is no escaping that very real reality.

There will be no real ability to address the needs and concerns of the residents: code enforcement, zoning enforcement, quality of life isues, etc. You will be the one who takes the blame for May's fiscal madness. Like Kiernan took the blame for years from May and Ben.

A run at this could very well ruin your career, not enhance it!

Pause and look and see what you would be in for.

It may not be enough for you to be ABLE to win, which you could, most likely would. The real question is what would you do if you DID win.

Think about it.

Whatever you decide, have your eyes open to what the deal is. If you deicde to go for it, so be it, but do not do it on a lark or a whim. I think that better opportunities will come along for you in the not so distant fututre. Why gamble on this loser? Let Jon or wayne or Tony try their hands at it. You have too much to lose.
