When Huntington Conservatives honored Michael O'Donohoe with a lifetime-achievement award earlier this month, Edward Walsh, the party's Suffolk chairman, praised the former county lawmaker - but also noted he had a reputation as a "bomb thrower."

Then O'Donohoe got up to accept the award. True to form, he did not let Walsh off easy for supporting Democratic County Executive Steve Levy for governor.

"I know Ed Walsh is busy and has to leave early," jibed O'Donohoe, now Suffolk's commissioner of jurors. "He has to go over to Steve Levy's house and scrape the Obama bumper stickers off the county executive's car."

After seeing Steve Levy's political agenda in his Levy for NY website, in which he outlines his "remedies" to save NYS, how can you support and urge your members to continue to support Levy?
Amongst some of the "remedies" he proposes that affect Law Enforcement ( you do consider yourselves Law Enforcement don't you?)
a) elimination of the Triborough Act of the Taylor Law
b) restructuring the Pension system
c) giving the Gov the ability to impound funds in order to balance the NYS budget ( yes that includes usung YOUR pension fund to balance the budget)
d) doing away with disability benefits for employees injured in the line of duty

So please Matt, Mike and the rest of the DSPBA, please tell us how you in good conscience can continue to support Levy. Look... we know you have your strings pulled by Vinny DeMarco, that's no secret. And in turn, Vinny has his strings pulled by Steve Levy. Isn't it about time you said NO to Vinny? NO to Stevey? Vinny sold out YOUR members with the FLSA and Sick Leave accruals. Please don't support Levy in his crusade to wipe out OUR benefits. And to you Deputies...if your union leaders don't have the #$%^ to stand up to Vinny & Stevey, please don't be lead down their path to destruction. This Joker known as Walsh seems to have a lot of clout for someone tha has not been elected. He is the mastermind behind the Deps taking the L.I.E., and the cause for a lot of problems.

He has been working on the Levy Juggernaut for almost 2 years. Just think of the power he would get if Levy became governor. Pretty soon Walsh would have been required to have his own social club like Gotti, Genovese, and the other capos had. That is unless Shandon Court isn't already been designated as such.

Your DSPBA has "ENDORSED" Steve Levy for County Exec, back in 2003. They were the ONLY union to do so. That is why you were rewarded with the LIE & Sunrise. The payback was lil Vinny cooking the "deal", you know the one. The one where the DSPBA sold out the unborn with FLSA and no sick accruals.

The DSPBA had the oppurtunity to say "we don't have the manpower, or we don't have the equipment, or we don't have the experience" but they didnt , did they? They SCABBED and even when this whole mess is finally put to rest, things will NEVER be the same between the two departments. Scabs heal but leave a scar.

The pba had every politician in the state say it wasn't a good idea for the deputies to take over the LIE and Sunrise at a press conference and that changed nothing. So, what would have changed if the deputies union said they couldn't do the job. I know for a fact, that he telling Leg, members that they have to vote "no" on a certain bill, or they will not get his party backing next year. The PBA should be telling these same members to vote yes. The bill is the 5 year term for PC, FRES Comm and Director of Probation. Dormer will be gone. I think the other 2 will stand alone and be OK. I do not understand it, here is our chance to get rid of Dormer, why are we sitting on the side and saying nothing . Tell me Jeff
