So the Ambulance chasing attorney could not get hunderfund off like he does for all the rest of the schools he represents . . .

Maybe this will be a wakeup call for the residents, and we will all come out and vote down some of the future budgets. At least untill we can get back to a normal mode of spending. It might hurt a little at first, but no pain no gain. Say NO to your money going down the drain!

someone should check who represented the super, if it was the school attorney defending the super, it might have been improper for him to represent him as an individual since the attorney represents the school, and not the personal actions of a school official. the school attorney is there to represent the school and their officials in regards to their actions taken in their capacity on behalf of the school, not personal actions that result in civil or criminal actions.....the school community should look into this further and maybe even have the state review it.

Jim Hall the teacher's union president admits being part of it and using union money for such disgusting act. The teachers should dump him.

hunderund was represented by an attorney who was paid by the insurance company for the district NYSIR, the school's insurance policy paid the defense costs I am not sure who paid the damages it could have been the insurance policy, but once again the law firm was a firm that does alot of work for nysir and many districts in suffolk county and also advertises for personal injury plaintiffs on an injury helpline on TV that seems ethical

either way, if school funds, either thru insurance or otherwise was used to pay for his defense in a civil complaint due to his actions as individual this would be improper

Hevesi would have a field day in commack. Hunderfund bought a million dollar house this year, and is bragging in the papers that he has made so much money, probably to hide the real facts.

The only way you can have the type of corruption we now see in schools systems across LI is by allowing administrators to control our schools by bringing in friends and relatives. It is that simple. Unless laws are passed that simply forbid what Hunderfund and Mayer did, it will continue. Having school board run by inept, weak and irresponsible "public officials" amounts to a joke. The public is responsible for this. Most of us never go to a meeting, and vote for budgets with as much thought as ordering a slice of pizza. The answer is in the vote. Sooner or later (probably later) when the crushing cost of education eats it's way into every family, change will take place. If the state wants to really protect us, do it the way it has always been done, LAW! Just think what one cozy relationship between a superintendent and a union president might cost the taxpayers. Now multiply that over all districts and over 10 years. Your number should be in the hundreds of millions in salaries that are set too high based on nothing more than the community constant approval of budgets. Ask our "lawmakers" to help us now.

The board that allowed Hunderfund to go free and continue on is next. When the state investigates the district, everyone will run, but the board members will take the hit for allowing it all to happen.

In the 92/93 school year, Cuomo cut state school funding mid year and eliminated much of the state audit oversight as a cost cutting measure as well.
Many of the problems we now see such as Roslyn, Three village, Commack and elsewhere is because of this and the apathy of the taxpaying homeowners. Until more residents attend board meetings and get more involved, nothing will change. We cannot expect the state to do our job of monitoring how our school property taxes are being spent. Gone are the days when high priced school administrators can have carte blanche with our money and use the excuse "its for the kids". No its not, it for your bloated salaries and benifits!
We have to elect board members who will monitor this and how our hard earned money is really being spent, not megaphones for the administration.
Perhaps consolidation? What say Mr. Mills?

board members can't do their job if administrators like Hunderfund and union presidents conspire to keep them out or keep them quiet. Even after this guy is found guilty by a jury, the school board is still defending his actions. Wait until they go into Commack, they will finally learn their lesson.

Commack board meeting tomorrow. Newspapers will be there for a change. Maybe there will be some announcements.

there isn't a person in Commack today that isn't thinking "hey, am I in trouble if I know what goes on and never reported it"
The state commissioner Mills has always known what went on in Commack all these years. Ever wonder why a superintendent would try to be in the papers boasting about how much money he made? So nobody would question his spending and assets! How did he pay for everything?
