Democratic polls have Councilman Santino with a 75% ID recognition among Republicans in his district, but with only a 40% positive impression.

Suozzi is beating the bushes in RVC for a quality candidate in the district to take on Santino. Remember, Santino had to spend $400,000 last time out to beat a no-name throw away candidate.

Right now, it looks like the Dems will be running Suozzi compatriot Bill Geier, but the CE is looking for someone not on his staff.

Why don't they screen Ed Oppenheimer? He was one of the origional County Legislators, lives In RVC and has somwhat of a name recognition? I agree, Santino is vulnerable. Do a few mailings to registered republicans telling them that this election is a referendum on Chairman Joe: a vote for Santino is a vote telling Mondello that he's doing a great job and should stay as Chairman! I don't think Santino would survive and Mondello would have to pour in $$ and take it from other close races.

He only stole 1/100th of what Cairo did, and he repaid it all.

Santino wins easily. The slate in Hempstead for the D's will be weak, even with H. Levinson. Dems may get 40% thats it folks-Ha Ha.

I am concerned about this year. If we are not smart we could be in real trouble. The stuff about the petitions can blow up on us. Fred should not have gone as far as he did. We could have many people involved.

We need to make changes at the top of the party. It was more Joe than it was Tom that got us to where we are!

If Ed wanted it, I'm sure he'd win it.

So two wrongs make a right?

Stealing is stealing, wrong is wrong. Both were wrong to do what they did, even if they eventually paid it back.

You have got to be kidding. Bill Geier running against Tony Santino. Ed Oppenheimer what a joke. Santino will run away with it. He is a fantastic Councilman and atuned to the residents of his district. He is the best thing since apple pie. I love it!

Geier the disbarred guy?

Only Herr Suozzi can come up with the stoopid idea of hiring a man who is not qualified to administer oaths to be the Clerk of the Legislature, then run him for public office, where, if successful he would have to make and administer oaths.

Once againg, Herr Suozzi scrapes the bottom of the barrel to find foot soldiers in his personal war against the people of Nassau County.
