Ex-Nassau budget chief in B'khaven post

Brookhaven's Democratic leadership has tapped Nassau County budget director John O'Neill to take over as the town's finance director, making O'Neill at least the second ex-Thomas Suozzi employee to defect to Brookhaven since Republican Ed Mangano won the job of county executive.
O'Neill, who began in the post yesterday, has been described as "extremely well qualified" by Brookhaven's Democratic supervisor, Mark Lesko, whose town faces declining revenues due to downturn in the housing and construction industries.
Brookhaven Finance Director Charlene Kagel, a Republican appointee who has enjoyed bipartisan support, will become O'Neill's deputy, town sources said.
Stacey Epifane, a former aide to Suozzi, came to the town as deputy chief of staff last month.

That Newsday article is fluff. John O'Neill came to Nassau 3 years ago after being let go by Morgan Stanley Chase. He was friends with the Deputy County Executive for OMB, Tom Stokes. He first started working for DSS and then moved up to be the head of Nassau OMB. I think most people in Nassau who worked with John will agree that any skills he may have are pretty insignificant compared to his crazy (and I mean CRAZY) need to control everything and take credit for everything. The previous poster is correct to to say you should watch your back and I'll add you should probably make sure you document any ideas you have because he'll take them too. By the way, did you know that he is the only intelligent person on earth, everyone else is an idiot. Hey Brookhaven, thanks for the getting him out of Nassau. Enjoy!
Second that

Wait until he starts telling the stories about what a big important man he was at Chase. The CFO of credit cards, indeed. Banks hand out CFO positions like elementary schools hand out award certificates.

My favorite is the story about how he gave up his really really important CFO position at Chase to work for Nassau because he cares about people and so he could spend more time with his family. He even says it with a straight face. That fat f*ck is such a d*ck.

LOL Don't forget to run when he starts telling you how he really understands how valuable you are how much you have contributed with all your hard work. He is either is planning on stealing your work, taking over what you do, trashing you with the bosses or all of the above.
Have fun. Thank God he is out of Nassau!!!!!!!!!

If Brookhaven really wants to save money, they would get rid of Lori Baldassare instead of just transferring to highway.
In fact, Lesko should get rid of all the "lori's."
It's now over a year and all the predictions by Nassau people have, sadly, proven true for Suffolk.
