Doesn't the website care for honest opinions? Nothing was derogatory unless being pro police union about government using statistics to their cause is considered as such.
As a civilian I can empathize with the police union head on this one. As statistics can be misleading when used by government officials to get want they want.
Removing my posts and others only reafirms the publics suspicions on how our government runs.

i heard Dormer did not even stay around long enough to hear what Frayler had to say . He had some prior committment . He did the same thing last February when he was supposed to show at SOA meeting to answer questions . He bailed last minute without so much as a courtesy call to say " I ain't comin ". I guess he is afraid of looking like a fool when the right questions are asked. Here's one I just heard from a reliable source . Apparently Dormer went to a certain Pct's midnight squad inspection . he was fielding questions from the PO's about some of the impending changes . A PO stated he was " concerned " about how the changes would adversely effect the PO's on the midnights and went on about the safety issue. dormers response " If you are afraid to work midnights i will arrange for you to go to the 2 tours ! Talk about talking down to or degrading PO's. How did he get "You're Scared" from "I'm concerned". The man is just plain ignorant.

In all honesty, no BS, in a heartbeat I would work for a boss who has the balls to offer that type of reply to a subordinate.
As far as him ditching the SOA meeting, he's the boss, he can do whatever he wants. If you don't like his style or policies, find another job. If you feel his policies are not in synch with officer and public safety then I strongly suggest you grow a hair on your ass and call his secretary to arrange a meeting with him to discuss why his policies are not in line with your view of how the police department should be run.
Do yourself and the rest of us a favor and start acting like a man. And please keep your whining off this board. Until you propose your own policies based on the resources available to the PD, most of us really don't want to read your unproductive whining here. Keep it in the locker room where it belongs.

Be my guest Dewey, go work for the man when he gets returned to his true vocation at Sports Plus. You can go scrape gum off the floor with him. That's all he's qualified to do. I have no problem with him ditching an soa meeting. Your right, it's his perogative. The sarge was correct, Dormer left without listening to Frayler or more importantly, without listening to the many civilians who had the courage to get up to speak. It's pathetic when a person dictates policy and then refuses to listen to his upper level managers all the way down to his PO's. He literally ran out of the meeting in order to attend a function at the Huntingto town house. He has his priorities. As for the Pct Inspection that he attended in the 2nd, when a cop tried to read a quote from Dormer published in Newsday in 1992 when Dormer was Chief where he said that response times would go up if the sectors are reduced, Dormer shouted to the cop "Stand down officer!" Give me a break. One last thing Dewey boy, your reference to "the sarge" to start acting like a MAN shows where your coming from. Never assume gender. Scrape On Fool, your gum awaits
Do yourself and the rest of us a favor and start acting like a man. And please keep your whining off this board

It's time for him to go!! He apparently could care less about his officers' safety. He also does not apparently give a hoot for the public's safety by removing officers from the midnights, who patrol while they (public) sleep. These people are paying for 24 hr coverage in their neighborhood and are not receiving such services.
Several incidents have occurred since Dormer and Levy's plan has been instituted. We are currently in the cold winter season. What will happen as the weather improves and people start hanging outside later and later in the nighttime? Their stubborness is going to result in more officers hurt and members of the public hurt. This is not a scare tactic, it is the unfortunate truth as evidenced by years of experience. As the weather improves, crime unfortunately rises. Right now, only the 2nd Pct is adversely affected. Wait until the 3rd Pct is forced to undergo the same!! Please wake up and reverse your unsafe policy!!

To grave yarder and all my brothers and sisters , do yourselves a favor and do not even respond to the likes of Dewey . His sole purpose is to piss us off. As soon as you ignore their posts and post a reply about something else they will feel ignored. There is nothing you can say to this loser anyway. Probably has a suspended license, dWI's , and a car seized once or twice. The cops post are good reading because they are intelligent and offer different alternatives or suggestions to help us deal with the issues we are facing. I may not agree with some of them but they give me a feel for how other cops are reacting. I don't give a rats ass what perps like Dewey have to say, nor should you . He should go back to his can collecting , or sitting at home collecting unemployment.

Since my original postings were removed I would like to ask this question to my local elected officials,
How is it that according to Suffolk County officials crime is now down in Huntington Station yet other government statistics say gang crime is seeing a huge increase in the area?

great question that they don't have the guts to answer
I have a remedy for the cop with the hairbag condition, but it would require actually doing some police work instead just simply talking about police work.

I find it interesting that you refer to the public as "they."
Makes me wonder if you are one of those officers who subscribes to the Us vs Them police mentality.
BTW, when you took the oath to become a cop, didn't you realize that you would have to make sacrifices in exchange for the King's Ransom you call a paycheck?

Hey look. I'm using a police rank as my posting name. Does that make my posts intelligent?

Excellent suggestion. First the cops want to unlawfully seize PBA cards...and now they want to censor us.

Good job to all my fellow Officers in the 2nd pct at the shooting/ stabbings at Charlie Browns at 4am. I'm sure you were all totally shocked :o that there were people awake and committing crimes at that hour. Levy and Dormer are very wise.--- The writer formerly known as the sarge .

I was using a pronoun ( fyi it takes the place of a noun) . I am NOT "one of those " who has an "Us vs. Them" mentality.
Oh, i took the job understanding that there would be sacrifices and do not for a minute regret anything. I do not , however, appreciate the current administration (Levy/Dormer) jeopardizing/sacrificing my safety as well as my brother and sister officers' safety. I have no problem working days, nights, weekends, holidays, rain or shine, etc. I DO have a big problem when SAFETY IS COMPROMISED by shuting down sector cars and removing officers from ANY tour!! Obviously, you are not a member of any law enforcement organization. You have an axe to grind upon us for whatever your misguided reasoning is. This department can make cuts that would leave plenty of coverage without harming already shorted patrol. They choose to have every precinct run by an Inspector, Dep. Insp. and Capt. Why? Remove an Insp spot multiply by 7 and you would easily save much more money! I don't see CO's of Precincts generating any revenue for the County by issuing summonses and making arrests. C'mon, let's get real here!

I hear that !!!!!

Likewise to the people of the 2nd pct. When you mail out your hard earned money for taxes, did you realize your police taxes would be going for the fat cats in Hqs and their new toys, as opposed to having a officer patrolling your neighborhood between 9pm and 7am? That your neighborhood would be an experiment in lets see how little we can get away with say only 2/3 police staffing, and still get 100% of their taxes.

Censor? hardly, just ignore. If you ignore a dog that barks all day for attention are you censoring it? No, you are ignoring it because every time you yell or scold it, you are feeding its need for attention. Kind of like the majority of post to rebel against the cops-type here.
Ignore it, sooner or later, it will stop barking, usually right after it defecates, then its too busy eating its own waste to make any noise. Again kind of like the poster here.

The Commish just makes up the statistics to fit whatever it is that he's doing at the time. In the last sentence in the letter to the editor of today's Newsday Thurs, 2-17-05, the Commish chalanges the reader to just "look it up" If that rag of a paper would just "look it up" they might find out that the numbers the Commish is dishing out are not real. Phoney Baloney Statistics. The calls for service per shift is wrong. The response times are wrong. And he knows it. He makes up the numbers to fit his BS. I guess it's just too much to ask that Newsday would have at least one investigative reporter in it's employ.

Ponder this kiddies. Steve Israel secured funds from the feds to deal with the gang problem in his district. The stats that Israel used probably came from the SCPD to justify obtaining the funds. You have two less than palitable scenarios. 1. Suffolk PD or the DAs office lied about the magnitude of the gang problem to Israel to help support his bid for obtaining federal funding. 2. Suffolk is now lying about the current magnitude of the crime/gang problem.
Either way the feds among others have been defrauded. The last time I checked it was a Federal Offense to defraud the federal Govt. Contact the Office of the Inspector General or whatever oversight body does investigations for Congress and fill em in. Watch how fast Steve Israel distances himself from the county if he thinks they will earn him a black eye. Divide and conquer. acquire every overtime slip, every memobook page for every minute of federally funded gang enforcement and deconstruct whether there has been any fraud or waste. Follow the money, follow the money, follow the money.
hey Mr. Israel while your at it have the feds look at why Slumlords in Your district can use HUD money to rehabilitate the many houses they own like Pius for one
Many of us thought it was taxpayer money for those needy people who lived in their house to maintain it
not to wealthy slumlords who live on estates of 10acres or more fixing up their cash cows
