If this were even half truth we wouldnt be doing our jobs. All you people do is complain. If you have a problem come down to the firehouse and let us know. But we work our a$$ off to protect you and this is the thanks we get.

What an ignorant comment about saving money on a paid department in Nissequogue. Look at your tax bill. The ENTIRE fire department YEARLY operating budget is under $100,000. You could not pay just the salaries and benefits of 2 people for that money.

If anyone really believes that 56% of any fire department budget in the village goes to parades and uniforms, I've got a great deal on a bridge I want to talk to you about. The amount spent on these items are insignificant.

If you are worried, go to a village meeting and get the real info. Compare what Nissequogue residents are paying for fire service to any other fire department on the island. The main reason the department was formed was to save money. Find a friend somewhere else in the town of Smithtown and compare tax bills for fire protection. I would be shocked if you paid half as much.

You are right I beleive its much more that goes to the parades and this other waste.
