A State Police trooper who stopped a Ronkonkoma woman on suspicion of using her cell phone while driving ended up arresting her on charges of heroin and hypodermic needle possession and driving on drugs, police said.

Police said Jacqueline Vega, 28, of 7 Heritage Ct., was arrested Monday at 9:04 p.m. on the Sagtikos Parkway.

Police said Vega was charged with criminal injection of a narcotic drug, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, DWI-drugs and vehicle and traffic law violations. All charges are returnable to Suffolk County Court on Feb. 22, police said.

A 6th pct cop had a pick up of an armed robbery with a gun the other day. This subject was caught red handed and arrested as the cop pulled up to 7 11 and saw the guy with a gun robbing the place! They also closed out numerous other armed robberies with this arrest. Now this doesn't make the news? But a deputy dog caught a motorist in the HOV lane with a mannequin disguised as a passenger? and they make a press release on this, guys in charge, stop embarrassing yourselves and your department you're really making fools of the whole department trying to show you do police work. I know lots of Deputies and most are good guys and would make great cops but just stick to what you do. You're playing on the wrong ball field and the deputies are the ones that are taking the hit and the embarrassment when you do dumb press releases like this.
