Having worked in the Connetquot High School for the past several years, several incidents have taken place- reported to the proper authorities- and disappeared without any disposition or explanation. One of those incident took place in May or June of 2004. Approximately $10,000 was taken from the principal's (Jay Madux) office. This was a student colected fund for a senior event in June. When reported to the police , Jay Madux, the present High School principal was asked to sign a corroborating affidavit (a common request I'm told) and refused to do so. When the office personnel heard this the asked for their union delegates. Since this event went off according to schedule ,who payed for it?

Marran finally has been nailed!!!!!!!! This piece of crap has been allowed to shake and shuffle for years while the Board danced and dipped with this snake. One doesn't need a college degree to see a thief.....
It's assuring to know that the new Business Mgr takes no crap and is in it for the taxpayers and the kids.Kudos to her.....Chin up!

Let me tell you how the re-vote will go. Connetquot will schedule the re-vote for the same day as the Spring concert at both of the Jr. Highs. Why you ask. So that a few hundred mothers and fathers who go to the concert will have a convenient opportunity to vote for the budget. They've done it before and we should DEMAND the school board schedule the re-vote for a day in which no other school activities are scheduled that would conveniently bring in a few thousand parents district wide to the polls. I loved the taxpayer funded explanation of the budget. The way it's written they would like you to believe that there is a 10 dollar difference between the austerity budget and the proposed budget. The part they try to conceal is that the 10 dollar difference is per thousand of assessed value which means about 350-450 for the average home in addition to what they will give themselves in an austerity budget. Guess why so little of a difference? Even if they cut the busses and sports programs guess who still gets paid for coaching even if there isn't a season. You guessed it the coaches. They still collect their coaching salaries even if the kids are locked out. Nice scam huh? Another point that came to mind about the proposed budget. What is the school board spending 2-3k per school board meeting on? Coffee and cookies are not that expensive. Neither is a stenographer. If we are buying them dinner, I want to know what they are eating since it must be a really extravagant meal.
Hey Yeah

What is the story with all of the additions to every school in the district. With declining enrollment compared to the 60's and 70's why did we need to expand every building in the district. Why did the taxpayers expand the Arthur Premm property only to rent it out? If the property isn't needed for direct instruction to the children of Oakdale why not sell it off and reduce our taxes or better yet not have spent money to expand the elementary schools in the district and re-claimed and re-opened the Premm school since we must have needed more room by the expansions to all other elementary schools in the district.

Whose neighbor, son, brother friend etc. got the contract for the renovations. I wonder how much in kick backs were handed out to receive that lucrative contract?

This is a fairly common practice accross the state. A school board member as far away as Sullivan County confirmed this is the practice up there also.
i would say go to a meeting and confirm these facts.....because i believe you are mistaken
so did we pass or fail????????i

Born again christians who teach and administer in this district secretly look after, cover for, hire within their own religous network. I know first hand from the Directors all the way down to the class room. If you try to rock their boat, they blackmail you and use your children as amunition. They play the union well, and talented motivated professionals are setup to get the boot. The secret war has been uncovered. I laugh when I see them in the school having secret meetings. They think its awesome that they are secretly implementing God's will to make a better society.
We need teachers without second agendas and a union free district!
IVE NEVER HEARD THIS BEFORE....IS IT REALLY TRUE??????

I know several parents who either left the district or put their children in private school because of this. Its a no win situation.
Great tax investment!

look and see how houses for sale in this district
Long Island in general has become a resource of goods and services for the weathly. Industry has been kicked out for the means of retail. That type of environment is a direct effect towards any developement, wether it be economical or academic. People become addicts and whores of politics with a false sense of security just to earn a living. The powers of the NIMBY syndrome is to blame.
When was the last time you heard a child say they wanted to become an Engineer or a Scientist for Long Island?

You're absolutely right. we're educating our children and paying out of our nose for them to grow up and go to college and leave home because they can't afford it. Does anyone else recognize that this isn't a problem its an epidemic or am I the only one? Reading back whats this about the high school principal and missing money-refusing to sign an affidavit to find its whereabouts from page 1? What are the circumstances and what was the resolution...my son is going to the high school next year and I want to keep my eye on this principal if these allegations are true.

I've seen a woman who taught night adult classes at dowling for internet use, the following year she taught special ed for the first time in this district, and the following year became vice principle of an elemntary school in this district! All due to her religous connections in the district. In a two year span she went from 10,000 to 90,000. What am I doing wrong???
If that's true - that should have serious warning signs all over it. A person's religious afiliations should have nothing to do with the public school system. Separation of church and state provides that one's religion should neither enhance or hurt their chances of getting a position. It should be based on their qualifications, experience etc.

Jim Marran who made a mockery of our finances here and was somehow hired at Pat-Med might have finally met his doom. It appears that the Connetquot School District former and current leadership is cooperating with the district attorney's office who are investigating transactions, and potential illegal behavior by Jim Marran and other former administrators in the patchogue-medford school district. I'm wondering if its too late to get him on any wrongdoing that may have taken place here in our district before he left to go to pat--med.
I know it

you guys are pathetic. What is it that you think he did wrong at c-quot? And I guess he got away with it becasue of his columbia grad shooling?
And its 6 months since he was told to go home and sit in the corner while we think of what you did wrong at Pat-med....and now that they realize that they have nothing (becasue of his genious in steeling you all blind) - they have now asked for the DA to look into it with their rubber gloves and fingerprint kits.
you guys are pathetic!!!!!
Remeber it was Mr. Marrans allies that called for the hevisi review and the forensic audit

There will be no winners this year. We all lose to the curruptive union tactics and political dealings. Its sad to say that going outside the district for an education is the right move. I hope they're all happy at our expense!
Did anyone here the about the trustee resigning today?

Teachers union rejects contract due to benefit contribution!!!!
Teachers pay nothing for medical and dental coverage and get 27 days off with pay! The average person pays $50 a week for medical and dental ins., and 12 days off with pay. Join the club and stop bitching idiots!!!!Free ride is over.....Thats life! The union is destroying this district and deminishing the quality inwhich education is taught.
I Pay $100 a week for my med and dental ins!!!!
and your point is..........?
get another job.
Obviously your not up on Long Island's Job markets and are isolated in a fish tank somewhere.....you must teach for a living!
Maybe I'm jealous, but I am aware of my expenses. I just want to get a good return for my investments in this school district and not my children to be used as a tool of negotiation.
get over it. get over yourself.

Unions worked well forty years ago, in a time where the need was survival. Economics shapes academic infrastructures, in that maybe if Long Island didn't have such a bad industrial climate, the pressure wouldn't be so bad on our main stream services.
Hows That?
