Not surprising considering the Democrats fiscal dilemma. As a Glen Cover where his camp is located, I only gladly wish to see him back doing his job w/the kids than with the grownups.

there were these kids that knew nothing about politics and would log in to LI Politics.com and write bad things about politicians. They didn't understand that to "fiscal dilemma" was brought about by the Rupublicans but for fun blamed the Democrats and their leaders because we didn't know any better."

Have a hot dog unregistered user and when you grow up - albeit in age or political awareness -- you will hope the people you now criticize are still in office.

"Lighten up, Nshoredem. Republicans did not create the fiscal crisis per se. The fiscal crisis was created by a mentality that did not question authority and merely followed orders, and was enabled by a middle management class that looked the other way."

Oh come on.. you can't be serious. The republicans were in charge. THEY were the managers and the "leaders." The "mentality" was a republican mentality. The woes of the county are the fault of republicans and republicans only.

you can't be serious, can you?...they'res no question at all about who ran the county into the ground. The dems were never in control in this county until a few years ago. If you're gonna come on this board and talk intelligently, then do it, don't defend those guys after the way they robbed taxpayers blind for so long...the 1and a half per cent kick back, the health scandal, the mitchell field scam, give me a BREAK...IT WAS ON THE GOP'S WATCH..

They didn't create it. Who are you kidding. They used the county as their personal boy's club with an unlimited expense account. Your right that Dems had veto power under the old system. And if you can remember back to the early 90's Gulotta proposed a tax increase of over 20% and it was greatly reduced because of the Democrats on the Board.

What orders are the "middle management class" following that so upsets you. The ones to reduce waste, become more efficient, and reward those for produce. That is part of the new mentality. Please do not say that was a Gulotta policy.

Stop talking nonsense. Maybe you were better off playing Pac Man or Mortal Combat than posting on political websites. You may even be better at it.

You have it wrong about 1 and a half percent. The GOP was only 1 percent. The Jack English crowd started at 3 percent. They just never got caught.

No one robbed anyone blind, let's not be silly. DT has it right. It goes back to the early 90s when the blind aversion to tax increases was born from the slim victory over Ben Zwirn and Lew Yevoli's pandering tax cuts, which almost left Oyster Bay bankrupt.

The Democrat Gang that Couldn't Shoot Straight may not have been driving, but it was right up front in the passenger seat with one hand on the wheel.

Let's talk about the big PBA arbitration award, for example. Suozzi & Co. bemoans it. But, the Dems don't want to remember that Gulotta had negotiated a less expensive deal that the PBA membership had accepted. It was pandering Lew Yevoli and company that refused to ratify it and that brought about the arbitration. Today's police salaries are a direct result of the action of the 90s Dem Board of Supervisors.

The Dem's actions in the 90s make Peter Schmitt look like Mary Poppins. Remember, the Dems had effective veto power that Schmitt's Republicans do not have.

So let's just cut the crap about robbing the County blind. BPA was an isolated incident and an unfortunate case of one individual looking for personal gain. The underlying problem was the absolute need to find ways to cut expenses in lieu of raising taxes. Let's see a show of hands from everyone who remembers Yevoli's pandering campaign slogan, "Lew Yevoli - He Cut Your Taxes" and his bogus "Tax Cut" party ballot line.

Zwirn wasn't any better. He slashed the North Hempstead's workforce more than 41 percent and still left the town fiscal basket case. May Newburger had no kind words for the state the Town was in when she took over after Zwirn. Just a few years earlier the Dems and Newsday were praising Zwirn and Steve Sabbeth (remember him?!) as the new vision for Nassau.

There's enough blame to go around. Remember history, or be damned to repeat it.

The latest poll has the Dems in a tizzy. Seems Miz Personality's approval rating has actually dropped by more than HALF in four years. For an first term incumbent council member that is a phenomenal drop. Don't be surprised to see a replacement candidate.

The type of mentality you are discussing in your message has caused the Nassau and Suffolk police departments to neglect my right to protection.
Read my message: An open letter to the Attorney General of New York. You are obviously my type of person. Have you posted messages anyhwere else?
Call mne if you want to discuss the conspiracy on Long Island. The attorney General's offcie has never answered my letters even and their failure to do so is a violation of the law.

Fiscal Dilemma ? are you serious? what Democratic Fiscal dilemma?

Obviously you have forgotten whose dilemma we are trying to correct. I believe it is the dilemma that the 14 years worth of republican rule has put us in.

I guess it is true that a person's attention span is short. Mondello and friends put us where we are today. You can't expect an administration to fix something in 2 yrs, which was 14yrs in the making.

It took Nassau Republican's 14yrs to screw Nassau, but it took less than a year for a Republican adminsitration to screw up our nation economy. Maybe we should have Nassau Republican's run the country - not Texan republican's God help us ...
