View Full Version : Nationally Dems Are Shooting Themselves In The Head

Poor Poor Dems

I'm no Republican fan but I have to admit the Democrats can't get themselves to admit they may have been wrong, really wrong about Bush and Iraq. Kennedy and Kerry statements sound like more than just sour grapes they sound like obstructionists who don't want Democracy. Either here or in Iraq. The answer the Democrats have for all this, is to elect Howard Dean as head of the DNC. Pushing the party even that much further to the left, as if if it weren't already far enough towards socialism. What the heck is happening to this party? Why can't some common sense take over. The majority of the public is nowhere near as negative and to the left as our leaders in the party. If this party is ever going to get in power again it's going to have to listen to the moderates and not these left wing ideologs.

The Dems ain't perfect, but they ain't wrong on Bush and Iraq

It's great that there are elections, but there was no need to go to Iraq when Al Qaeda is the real threat.

Look at the facts:
No WND
No Link between Al Qaeda
1000+ American Soldiers killed
Now we've got to clean Bush's mess up!

Let's go after Al Qaeda like we should have

Finally, Democrats developing some backbone to go after Bush-Cheney lies. Maybe there will be a good vote AGAINST Gonzales. Then need to marshal support AGAINST ending Social Security. Then have to fight to get the troops out of Iraq, as the puppet government is going to be ineffective. Kerry, a bad candidate, ran a bad campiaign. Now it's time to fight these liars because you can't fool all of the people all of the time....

The best thing for the USA is to have a free and democratic Iraq.
Its in the center of the middle east. Its people are intelligent and hard working. That helps us in the war on terror. You liberal dems are hurting this country and you don't even know it. Nor do you want to. Muslims in Iraq can turn out to be one of our biggest allies in the war against Islamic fascism. The dems are beholden to left wing ideologs and destructive thinking which is a great danger to this country. The radical left has taken over your party. And I'm no friend of Republicans. But the Democrats are 10x as far to the left of center as Republicans are to the right of center. Many people I know who voted for Kerry couldn't stand him or his stance of being a war hero who came back and denigrated his fellow soldiers. What is wrong with you people?

I'm no liberal, I am a dem and you should get this point straight:

Is it a good thing, there is democracy in Iraq? Yes!

Would it have been better if we went after the real threat, Al Qaeda?
ABSOLUTELY!

So drop your right-wing "Do whatever Bush tells you to" nonsense.
The man is an idiot.

Ask him why he never mentions Al Qaeda or Bin Laden, but happi;y says Iraq all the time.

Bush is right on Iraq. We have to get use to it. Osama is in Pakistan, would you invade Pakistan? Al Qaeda is supported by Iranians who are also developing nuclear weapons. Would you invade Iran?
Syria supports terrorists and has many of them working out of their territory. Would you invade Syria?
North Korea has nuclear weapons despite signing an accord not to produce them under the Clinton years. They support terrorists world wide and supply arms to those regimes that do. Do we invade North Korea?

Iraq was the lesser of all evils for our military to handle. Plus an Iraq that is free and democratic can be a good ally and an example to the rest of the Muslim world. Good move by Bush. He has the vision to fight terrorism at its source. The middle east. Dems must wake up or we become marginalized to the far left in this country.

A blankity blank that can't seem to catch to ban from here. He's probably running to the Lynbrook library to post about Lynbrook and Becker - it's gotta be the same guy. He hates Suozzi and Mondello and he's a volunteer firefighter from his posts. That help identify him? Maybe he's freaking Bogsted!

The democrats Have NOT moved to the left. It is the republicans who have moved to the right to support a radically group of right winged neocons. ( who by the way were looked at as radical just a few years ago) What the party needs is someone like Howard Dean who will speak up. Thank goodness for Barbara Boxer. The problem is the democrats have been too quiet and let the republicans spin issues, tell lies. Time for us to tell them to shove it! And if you are a Joe Liberman type goodbye we dont need your types join the RNC .

God, the last post was so tongue in cheek that even I don't buy it. The more the Democrats demonstrate that they are out of touch penthouse socialists, the less relevant they become in national politics.

Dean's Mean Machine
02-10-2005, 01:12 AM
With the Dems getting ready to select Howard Dean as the leader of their party, look for Hillary and other Dems to get to the center as fast as possible. In fact they may even go so far as go far right of center because that will be the last area of the ship of Democrats to be afloat once Dean's Mean machine gets rolling.

Uncivil Servant

Why not? Just keep underestimating Dean's ability to mobilize 1000's of enthusiastic young voters, raise millions of $ and lend some passion and commitment to a party leadership that has been lukewarm milquetoast for the last few years. 2006 and 2008 ain't so far away. 2006 and 2008 ain't so far away. Not to worry though, maybe your hero Giuliani will run for Pres with Bernie Kerik as his running mate.

Oh, and BTW, please have W stay out there pushing his Social Security plan. :D

i'll underestimate Dean

Mmm, hubris.

First of all, realize this- 48 percent voted Bush OUT OF OFFICE. Now, if you need me to make the connection, Bush = Republican Party. So not only does at least 48% think the RNC needs to be out of power, the same 48% is much more comfortable with the DNC then the RNC. Furthermore, some 50-60 odd percent believe the country is going in the WRONG direction. Again, if I need to make the connection- that's the country being led by the RNC and Bush. So before trying to say the DNC is out of touch with mainstream America, try hitting the facts first, m'kay? Thanks.

Second, Bush was RIGHT about Iraq? Please, do tell me, how does that work? We went there for the WMDs. It's kinda funny, actually- turns out, there were NO WMDs. Funnier, there was no connection to Al Quaeda. And funnier still, the Iraqis have actually put a resistance to our occupation!

We got rid of a world dictator? Yeah, okay, nice try- how has that helped as at ALL? By what sort of arcane logic are you going to try to argue that the fact that Iraq is now one of the biggest breeding grounds for terrorism has made the world safer? And by the way, "going for the lesser of two evils" is not a proverb that's used in this kind of situation, just in case you were wondering. Usually, a choice between a "lesser of two evils" means that you don't really have a choice, that you are forced to pick. Iraq was a war of choice. Pre-emptive wars *are* wars of choice, by their virtue.

Don't worry Teen Dem. I was once afflicted with the brain disease that you suffer from.... But it was cured soon after I started paying taxes and living in the real world. I think you'll be a bearable person..... in about a decade or two.

Old conservative, you are so funny. You're one of those guys that got their first check, not actually expecting taxes to be taken out (duh!) and nearly had a heart attack when you realized that - gasp! - it's true! I really do have to pay taxes! Oh no, what to do? I thought that was a myth! And here it is 30 years later and you still haven't gotten over it.
