View Full Version : Pulling of PD Cars
Before everyone starts to blast me about this being a FD site, read the post first. I heard that they are looking to have Public Hearings about removing even more of the local sector cars during the midnight shift and the meetings are going to be held in various Firehouses.
Does anyone have a list of which departments will be hosting because there is barely enough cops on the street at night now. The worse thing in the world is to have to sit on an MVA for over an hour because PD is tied at something else with no relief. PD and FD need to stick together on this an stop it before it happens.

Would that be for Nassau or Suffolk?

If you want to free up cops, try not sending them on every BS medical call that comes in to the dispatch. Why do you need an armed escort to a 89 year old female vomiting. Cops don't want to be EMT's and they dont do any medical work other than hook up an AED, and many of them don't even want to do that, they just feel they have to in front of witnesses or family

Stop your griping, nothing makes me sicker listening to cops gripe about thier jobs. You want to free up cops, Ride as the EMT that most officers are instead of wasting a cop on scene for a BS call or any call for that matter. Ride the ambulance, most FD's & VAC's that have the problem of not getting out only need the EMT and are close to hospitals. If the cop rode the ambulance right away he wouldn't need to be on scene as long as it take the mutual aid department/corps. to get on scene. Thank god for the Ridge FD and Central Islip VAC, they make us all look good. LOFL's

Why would I ride the ambulance? If I am on duty I am not allowed to ride unless it is a prisoner. If I am off duty, why volunteer? It is giving away for free what should be paid for. I work hard for my money and can get hurt at any time, do you know how hot 7-11 makes their free coffee? It could mean I need to go out on 3/4 disability for burns to my tounge.

THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE TO RIDE THE AMBULANCES. THATS NOT THEIR JOB.
You love cops? you sound more like you HATE cops. It's your job to do the amblance calls and their job to do the police call's Your bashing them in one breath but sure love having them there when one of your pt's goes psyco on your ass.
I do not feel that PD should have to go on every aided call that comes through the system nor do I feel that they should have to answer THE SAME burgler alarms at the same house day after day, but they have to and YOU shouldn't bitch about it.
Go to the academy and make the money they make, if you think it's an easy job. But then again you will be there complaining about that job too!

I wish SCPD PBA would take a stand in creating a county wide EMS system to eliminate them from having to respond on aided cases. It is wrong for police officers to do someone elses job, cause agencies cant run them efficiently and properly.

and your an ass too!! Wow, your really original. I'd like to slap you with a dirty diaper. I heard your friends with Michael Jackson. Now with your retort see if you can come up with something good. I can play this game forever. Are you, or were you ever a fire chief?
sorry you guys felt the need to take this post in a different direction then it was originally meant. I started this a s means to help the PD keep cars on the street not bash them for having to do their jobs short handed.
If you talking about PD being EMT's that was Mitch Savino's from the PD side of EMS's doing. If he had his way thats all PD would be doing.
We all have jobs to do whether we choose to get paid for them or not they still need to get done and neither of us (PD or FD) can do that job without the other.
hooray for pd

WOW you got me!! Oh please don't threaten me with "the dirty diaper"
I just bet you could play this childish game forever. It wasn't meant to play back and forth. I don't know about you but I respect the police in my area and they respect us as well. We have a very good working relationship with each and every one of them. They are there for us and we are there for them. I am personal freinds to many of them as well, and I guess I must have taken it personal.
As far as Im concerned, You started this BS by stating some rediculous things and then said YOU WERE JOKING! I guess your sence of humor is NOT my cup of tea. Im done posting with you.

Shame, shame, shame on you! Get some therapy cause you have lost sight of what the job is about. And that's aiding the public which is one of many other countless acts, too. For instance, a Nassau County PO came to the aid of my ailing Aunt who collapse on the floor. He gave her CPR until the EMT's arrived. If it wasn't for him, she wouldn't have been here to celebrate her 80th Birthday.

If your on the job, I would like to know how the hell you got there.
First get your facts straight, drop the BS. The FD. does not call you, as a matter of fact 99.9% of the time many of you guys stand around with your thumb up your butts. [ Meaning at Recsue calls].
Not only are you in the way half the time, you can and do make it harder on the victems family [ in an aided case. EDP]
Do the FD a favor Go away, have the PBA work out so you don't have to show up on a rescue unless your called up by the FD.
Or would that step on your toes, make you feel like your not a GOD.
Hey one more thing , we do it for FREE, your Getting paid " alot"
FD. LT. EMT.
All ment with respect to the other jobs and duties the PD preform.
Your not needed at a fire or rescue scene

First of all, to overworked PO, what you wrote was incredibly stupid. I don't know if you were joking or not but what you wrote not only made yourself look like a jerk but the rest of us as well. And now to the Iron Cross, i firmly believe that the PD should not respond to simple aided cases (i.e. nose bleeds and simple aches and pains). We absolutely need to respond to cardiacs and difficulty breathing cases because we get there first most of the time. I have been on numerous kinds of these calls where FD doesn't show up for 15 mins. As far as i'm concerned, as soon as FD shows up I am not needed anymore and I leave. Let us not talk about getting in the way. Some of you firemen are clueless. We can have a shooting, stabbing, or some other incident where injuries are involved and 30 firemen and emts go trampling through the scene. Why is that? Are some of you guys so buffy that you have to stick your noses into everything. By all means do what you have to do with however many people you need but if you are not doing anything then leave. All you are doing is contaminating a crime scene. These comments are directed to the minority of you guys and gals. I know the majority of you are dedicated and hard working.

Still alive and can kick your ass. And not a drain on our system as she is well taken care of in her own home. So go be an ass in another thread, you moron of a man.

Police should only run on: Psych/violent, life threating (cardiac arrest, chocking etc.) They're not needed on a 97 YOF who's sick. They're also not needed on BS fire runs, A/A, CO calls, dumpster fires etc.
Lets free up the cops so they can answer the "PD" calls. This is why people wait 40 min, an hour plus for a sector car.

However you can't get more officers or OVER TIME if you cut out those alarms. While they may not want to be EMT'S, they sure what to be fireman.
