Suozzi has destroyed the Democratic Party in Nassau County. In 2000 we were the party who held off financial disaster, made government more open, and finally gave the residents of this County the hopes that progressive change was on the horizon.
However Tom Suozzi was never about the party, a self addmitted outsider(LOL), he has only been about himself and his political opportunities. HE HAS TO GO - or we will turn this county back over to the Republicans, who now have a very poitive messawge to sell.
Isn't there some Democrat brave enough to take this jerk on before all is lost. C'mon Tom DiNapoli and friends. Where are you in all of this.
Thanks to Tom Suozzi, it will be another 30 years before we get it back.

You'd like to believe that wouldn't you? Fact is

1) "Held OFF" financial disaster, I agree with that. That's all Suozzi did was maintain the republican agenda and status quo. He fixed nothing.
2) "More OPEN" PLEEEEZE - you're talking about department heads putting in requisitions for security doors and deadbolts - the doors were always CLOSED - Suozzi's verticle system created secret meetings and everything was on a "need to know basis" - the only administration to use confidentiality agreements and try to seal court records -
3) and giving HOPE? Admittedly that's true. It's called passing out Bull crap - and that the Suozzi people were plenty good at.

Primary away. Peterson will win no matter who the dems run. Suozzi is a 3rd generation democration - no outsider for sure.

Suozzi doesn't get it.

There is one thing we as Democrats no for sure. If Suozzi stays in office, the chairman of the Dems will remain the same. If Suozzi wants real support from the rank and file, support someone else for Chairman.

At least 10% of Democratic Committee people are school teachers. This number plus a few more are deeply indebted to the teacher's union. If Suozzi's remarks in Albany regarding the teacher's and health care unions at the Conservative Party conference would some how come to the attention of the bigwigs in the Teacher's Union and their allies, this could cause some unrest at the convention, and a challenger to Suozzi could arise.

Remember, the teacher's union demolished Al D'Amato. If the teacher's union revolts against Tom Suozzi, his goose is cooked. Definitely in 2006. Possibly in 2005.

Our association has reached out to Iannarelli to urge him to primary Suozzi. It's not only the postings on this board that believes that Suozzi has not had any meaningful accomplishments. Even people on the steet are getting to know the truth despite Newsday. We think Iannarelli's Democratic loyality this time is misplaced and urge others to either publicly or privately get him to run.
