$2 million to $3 million to back Greg Peterson. Make that $10 million and watch the Legislature go down the toilet as well. No One remembers Greg Peterson, and those that do, remember that he resigned right after being re-elected. Looks like Suozzi in a walk. Nice Job Joe.

If the GOP is ever to pick up any seats in NC, they must accept the fact that there must be a changing of the guard, and Mondello has got to go.

If the Republicans want to have any chance of winning back the CE spot, they need to run someone who wants to make the kind of changes that Suozzi has made over the last few years. I'll be the first to admit that Suozzi has made numerous avoidable mistakes which have cost him a fair amount of political capital but no reasonable person can argue that he has not made the County government a more effective institution than it was when he took over. It still needs a tremendous amount of work but at least it is moving in the right direction.
Essentially, the message from Republicans should be that Suozzi hasn't done enough for the County. Republicans have the ideas to truly transform County government and bring it out of the medieval ages. The trick is to have a candidate that can articulate that and have some great ideas. Unfortunately for Republicans, they don't seem to have anyone who fits that mold.

2005 commercials
1.) music from 2001 a space odessy
enter- stooges looking like deliverance children. all are NYC residents who are in awe of the trees in Nassau. Suozzi tells them they are in charge and he will be governor.
Peterson wins big time!
2.) America the beautiful plays in background
NYC residence and county employees cross Verrazano bridge in a County SUV. He is illiterate but knows how to drive. He is in awe of his good fortune, his brother in law is a Nassau Deputy county executive.
Peterson wins big time!
3.) Hail to the chief plays in the background
NYC hacks on Nassau payroll head to Peennyslvania to work on the Kerry campaign. Next year they are promised they can work on the governors race.
Peterson wins big time!
4.) No song
Sylver and Suozzi talk in a dark bar room at the Garden City Hotel. Suozzi say I have a plan. Sylver's ears pick up. ......................................
Peterson wins big time!
Peterson gets my vote

Peterson has my vote and my support .
Suozzi made changes? What'd he do?
All he did was take Gulotta's ideas and try to implement them - failing at them - and hasn't completed a damned project he set out to do. Made campaign promises he not only didn't keep - he turned around and did the very thing he was complaining Gulotta did!
Mistakes -- please.
He exercerbated the crime and fraud and corruption he was involved in in Glen Cove, used the same techniques in Nassau and is currently negotiating with other governments for a job so he can bail on Nassau in 2006 when all the stuff he and newsday are working so hard to coverup hits the fan.
Hiring criminals and rapists isn't a mistake. It's stupidity.
The man did stupid things.

In 2001, like it or not, Tom Suozzi did not confront the full force of the Nassau County GOP machine when he bested Bruce Bent. A Peterson campaign will unite the Hempstead GOPers in a push to keep their jobs in the Town, and maybe gain some jobs in the County. The GOP has something to fight for.
All of the Suozzi hacks live in the City or Suffolk. Will the Pete Reinharzes and Meredith Feinmans of the world carry petitions and hand out literature for Mr. Suozzi? I don't think so. The NYC hacks think their sh*t doesn't stink, and do not consider themselves to be politicians. Suozzi may have to spend his whole war chest just getting petitions signed because his lazy, good for nothing appointees do not believe they owe their jobs to anyone, even though they just might.
Peterson will have the advantage of significant volunteer efforts and a grassroots campaign which can out gun and overwhelm the incumbent county executive. And just remember, if you punch Tommy Boy Suozzi in the nose he cries like a .... Bonecrusher Smith...... After Tyson made Mr. Smith his woman

Suozzi is so beatable, and the best you guys can come up with is a hack like Peterson? Does he represent new ideas? He's 62! Where's the young blood in the Republican party? This is an embarrassment.

Suozzi is still polling over 55% in Levittown (GOP Polls) and over 60% in Levittown in the Dem Polls. The race is already over. Why do you think Balboni, Fuscillo, and Murray took a pass, not to mention Alvano, Venditto and Guardino.
Picture the Dem Ads. Peterson hugging Gullotta. Peterson hugging McDonald. Peterson hugging Margiotta. Peterson huggin Parola.
Plenty of ads will show "Peterson Resigns" Its a laugher.
Levittown - make me laugh

Who you polling in Levittown - 10 people all thugs? The people who bought their houses at a fraction of what they're appraising for now or the foreigners that invaded the town making it a special little enclave? You saw how much good the polls did Kerry too huh? Go away poll man. Suozzi ran unopposed in 2001. He won't get the courtesy of another free ride this time round.

If Peterson is the best the GOP can put up, Suozzi will be a shoe in come next election.

Here we go again. NCGOP picking the same people from the same families. Hasn't JM learned? What about the executive committee?
The GOP is in it's worst condition in years because of the old guard so what does jm do? He picks the same people who got us into this mess. GET RID OF JOE already.
Sorry Sweatheart
01-20-2005, 05:06 PM
Are the democrats already running so scared that they're already resorting to negative publicity and dirty pool? Gee - I thought they only played like that against their own kind. Sorry sweatheart - try if you may - but you can't demotivate the GOP workers with this old guard crap. We know these postings about the overthow of Mondello are coming from Suozzi's PR people. We aren't dumb dems - we've been in control of this County for 30 years for a reason, and we're taking it back in November.
Suozzi has done nothing in this county but try and rule with intimidation and fear. When that doesn't work - he fires and lays off the people who won't give in to him and his administration of tryants and losers. He tried busting up CSEA - by cutting off their head. He won that battle - but after the new CSEA election - the furious workers and former workers will revolt against him and he'll see their wrath. He cut off the head of the union formations at the county attorney's office, and isolated the workers from the outside world. He'll see the wrath of those formerly loyal appointees, and the unhappy workers hired by Suozzi's own hand. He is attempting to plaster the board with negative impute against the PBA head - the only union so far he has not been able to buy off, and so far, the only group of County workers that hasn't been screwed by his administration.
Now he and his PR people are trying to plant spies and seeds into the GOP to cut of his head and start a civil war - to detract the party from the real work ahead in defeating the SOB so we can bring back what is left of the middle class, surburban sprawl we call Nassau County, before Suozzi squeezes it out of existence between NYC and Suffolk County. We are onto you baby. We're not stupid.
Behind Peterson will be united both the old guard and the new guard and the GOP will stand strong. Suozzi will face the full wrath of the Republican machine and it will bear down on him and his legislative majority like at no other time in the history of the County. It will stand like an impenatrable brick wall, and behind it will stand the cops, the firefighters, the EMT's, the county workers, the former county workers, the taxpayers and the pro-Dinapoli, pro-Sidikman, pro-silver Democrats furious at Suozzi and ready for revenge.
What goes around comes around honey - and we're coming.
I'm not sure what insulted me the most. you calling me a dem, a soizzi pr guy, honey, or sweetheart. Im gop through and through 'sweetheart'. And fyi, THERE IS NO NEW GUARD. Unless you call the few teenagers who are too naive to know the kind of 'leader' jm is. (or the executive committee for that matter). The 'new guard' disappeared after walking their eds, donating time, paying for tickets to see their chairman (when else do you see him?) and getting nothing but YELLED at by jm and the executive 'leaders' who think the reason that Bruce Bent wan't elected was because of lazy, 'wise ass' committee people.
Any by the way, I'm just curious, honey, what town job do you have?

Guest says his feelings are hurt because he's a man wearing women's clothing. He was called a democrat and rightly so. He's says that hurts him, yet he disses against the GOP. Wounded in Lynbrook - from his other postings - and ranting about Joe Mondello and the wonderful Republican Machine and so alone in warped sense of righteousness. Mondello stays - while naysayers like him - off with the high heels say I.

Do not underestimate Peterson. He brings together what remains of a powerful Republican Machine. The same folks who collaborated with Suozzi in 2001, could be whispering in Mr. Peterson's ear in 2005. I think that Peterson could pull an upset, if only because the county is filled with people who were loyal to the old culture, and who resent the City people. Suozzzi may be in for a low level political guerilla war and could be embarrassed by some of the revelations that are bound to arise. Suozzi is still a spoiled jackass, and can wind up stepping on his own c*ck.
In a low turnout election, Suozzi needs to motivate people to come to the polls who would ordinarily blow off voting. He cannot simply motivate them by being anti-establishment, because he is the establishment now. People will vote their pocket books, whether it be taxes, their jobs, and the quality of life in the neighborhood. You win these elections by turning out your loyalists. Suozzi has too many New York City hacks on his payroll who will not do the ministerial work of politics. Plus, the Democrats are not a united team. Understandably, because Suozzi has screwed so many local Democrats, who will not lift a finger for him in 2005.
With some momentum, and the backing of the Hempstead/TOBAY GOP organizations, do not count Peterson out by a longshot. Also, if Suozzi's personal morale is low because he is not going to be on the statewide ticket, he may just run an insipid campaign, and may just get his rear end kicked, because he lost his drive to win, and everybody can see just what a big phony he really is.

Who in the Democratic Party is going to primary Suozzi? The party is in the best place it has ever been in its entire history in Nassau County. Why screw it up?
Oh that's right, Bruce Bent is going to become a Democrat and primary Tom Suozzi! He'll even pay for his own campaign! Yeah, right!
How about Richie Kessel again running for County Executive! Lets get Tom Gulotta to raise money for him.
This thread is just a laugh a minute!
Timothy Leary

If this is the best shape Nassau Dems have ever been in, I think its time to change our registrations. No money in the bank, NYC residents hold half of all the patronage jobs, our Chairman is a joke (as he was in Oyster Bay) and our Democratic County Exec has truely been a failure. We all know Newsday and News 12 just front for him, everyone knows they're not objective. Lastly we are the joke of NYS, and Spitzer our next Governor wants no part of our leadership. Oh yes you say, what about FixAlbany... Chuck Levine voted for Shelly Silver for Speaker!
Nassau Dems - DOA.

NO LUCK WITH CHUCK

If he did vote for Silver after all the negative Albany stuff that he ran on he would be the biggest fake in Nassau Politics. OUTRAGEOUS!
Guess he learned from the master - TRS.

He would be the George McGovern of the Nassau GOP - a humiliating defeat
Unfair!
Unfair!
Unfair Twice!
First, some people actually VOTED for George McGovern - DD wouldn't even get hanging chad mistake votes;
Second, George McGovern registered (significantly) on an EEG. For you Republicans out there, that's 8th grade conversational English meaning that, unlike DD, McGovern had discernable brainwave activity.
It's UNFAIR - to McGovern - because NEITHER is true for D unn!
Nobody polled me, and I'm voting for Peterson. In fact, nobody has polled anyone I know.
