In an effort to offset the lost revenue from the Energy Tax he plans to repeal, new CE Ed Mangano, upon hearing Tom Suozzi concede the election, has just implemented a $40 million Concession Tax that Suozzi will be required to pay.

In other County news, the plans for the Lighthouse/Hub/New Suburbia projects will now be spent on 11 Golden Calves that will adorn the Republican side of the Legislative Chamber. The proposed 60 story tower that was supposed to be the focal point of the Hub will now be put in Peter Schmidt's backyard and his house will be re-named Schmidtzberg. The tower will be subdivided into 3 sections, known as Waste, Fraud and Abuse.

In an efficiency maneuver, the Leg has already pre-voted on every issue to come before it for the next 4 years and has spent thousands of dollars on stationary and rubber stamps that say "Approved 11-8". All documents have been scanned and stored in a pickle jar on Funk and Wagnall's porch since noon today.

In order to more readily identify the unqualified hacks and relatives that will soon be replacing the prior administration's hacks and relatives, the following measures will be implemented:

1) CE Mangano will create a new position, Deputy County Executive for Patronage. This will either go to Mangano's brother Duane, or his other brother Duane.
2) Separate parking areas labelled "Connected" and "Disconnected" will be designated in all County parking lots.
3) NIFA will be made a permanent County department and report to Parks. They will share one rake.

The Democratic Party has begun its search for a CE candidate for the 2014 election, and is considering Ralph Nader, Ross Perot and Tiger Woods' wife, none of whom take any crap from anybody.

Looks as though one of Suozzi's bitter-enders has difficulty in adjusting to the reality that, after eight to ten years in office and with millions in pay-to-play fundraising, 52% of those who care about their future turned the Dems out. Someone needs a politics 101 lesson. Votes matter.

Or maybe somebody just has a sense of humor and expected others to be smart enough to know a joke when they see it.....duh.

After four years the stamps will have to say "Approved 19 - 0"

its going to be an interesting show. I hope Managano does the right thing. He seems like a smart man and I hear he's a decent guy. He's the ultimate anti-suozzi. He ran hard even though he knew it was a tough race. It appears he has NO plans for any higher office. Suozzi loaded up the payroll with lots of no show wannabes. They relied on stories of the Gulotta days when County employment = high salary, good benefits and come in late, leave early and long lunch days. Many of Suozzi's people mimicked that workstyle (and toward the end he was taking on so many of J Jacob's freak show hires that it was absurd).

All we need is Mangano to make smart thoughtful decisions. if he doesn't, he won't have a second chance.

You meant to say, "one vote matters" didn't you?

Someone needs a 5th grade Math lesson...
377 votes means that .52 (that's POINT 52) percent turned this election,
or one-half-of-one-percent.

Same score as Kennedy beat Nixon in 1960.

And we though nobody cared anymore, huh?

Mr. Warehouse,

Not too shabby. You are accurate in the so-called correction that you tried to illustrate. Yes, Mangano's lead is nearly 1/2 of a percent. However, the other poster was smarter than a 5th grader. Ya see, he was referring to the 52% of voters who did not endorse Suozzi with their vote. If you combine the Mangano votes with the "C"-line votes, then 52% voted against Suozzi.

There was no spoiler in the Kennedy/Nixon race.

Anyway, I never take for granted people "caring," which is why I did my best to help Ed Mangano win. Everything from normal on the radar committeeman stuff to off the radar grass roots creative strategies of many sorts, opinion influencing, bringing up Suozzi's negatives, including "operation DS," etc, etc.

Never underestimate grass roots and determination when you have a great candidate.

Whoa, you mean 52%, of the 25% of the electorate, who showed up on Election Day determined this outcome?

Now I'm REALLY depressed...

bringing up Suozzi's negatives, including "operation DS," etc, etc.

DS? As in Nintendo?
You mean Tom had a VIDEO GAME endorsement, too?
Oh, where will the ego end?

I disliked Suozzi. That being said, the way to get elected today is to stand up and say " Im going to lower property taxes" Mangana won in many ways for the same reason Obama did. People where angry at the economy and wanted the guy in charge out. I have no ill will towards Mangano at all, but anyone who thinks Mondello isnt running the party and will be making the decision is a fool. No to mention that what people here want from Mangano is more of a miracle then reality. Great, hes going to repeal the oil tax, he will have to make it up somewhere. The parks are decimiated, theyve been cuttting as much as they could in the COunty for years and years now. Virtualy every cut I ever saw ended up costing twice as much. Ive seen several regimes in the County, Rep and Dem, Wasnt really any diffrence, Im glad SUozzi is gone becasue he was vindictive, I think Mangano dosent have that kind of ego or a need to pay people back who dare defy him. Thats really the only thing I see as being better. those who convince themselves that one side or the other is going to run this awsome Gov that the tax payers love is either drinking the cool aid or is in deep withone side or the other and is going to get theirs.
