in the whole scheme of things it's not a big deal. not a career maker or breaker. but it is a legitimate solid felony arrest and a great job by the 5th pct. cop. the detective on the case should be ashamed of himself for allowing this to happen. i know he's a good guy but he blew it on this one. as for the d/sgt. in the 6th (f.s.) he's just a backstabbing weasel who's done nothing but screw over hard working cops his whole career. ask people in 5th pcs about him. he's a real p.o.s.

SCPD screwed up the bad guys plan. The eway is the perfect place to make your getaway now-a-days. If it wasnt for thoses 6th pct cops, there wouldnt have been a chance in hell they would have gotten caught on the eway.

Depends on the time. If it happened when the Deps head home, or sandwich time. They could've seen them through the hedges from Yaphank Avenue where they sit for hours talking.

The Deps took over highway patrol and heard they got the EWay. They figured this was a new sandwich shop and were very excited at the fortune of having someplace away from the jail to make bologna sandwiches for the inmates. Grand schemes and dreams formed of how this new EWay shop would compete with Subway and Quizno. Little Vinny dancing and singing in the new commercial.

The Deputies, however, were shocked and scared when they approached EWay and found it was a major interstate. Complete with vehicles traveling close to 100 miles per hour. They could not understand why people would not slow down for their new Geek Squad patrol cars and why oh why did their former union leader take them out of their comfortable little spots to endanger their lives on the EWay.

To this day the deputies are scared. Ask the ones who are assigned highway patrol and they go back to their relief points or their old cushy hideouts (Gabreski Airport) . You can run the stretch of both highways and not see as single Patrol car. Alot different from when they first took over isnt it.

The leg did not negotiate the contract, levy and his multimillion dollar team did. he gave into our demands. He agreed to abide by perb. He agreed to abide by arb and to add another year onto our contract. He agreed to reverse the holistic transfers, not to outsource our jobs.
The next contract will be agreed to by levy and signed. It will be better then Gaffneys last. It will expire while he is in office, he will have a chance to re up it again. Let him stay.

Thats funny, the legislature is not involved in any way shape or form in our contract negotiations. Only steve levy and his hired guns were. so when the voting taxpayers watch or read about our contract, let them realize it was levy who did in fact agree to give us a contract in excess of what we had orginally asked for.

He is here. but he has just agreed not to outsource our jobs, in a year our contract will be up. He will be facing us again, and seemed to have calmed down, and is more agreeable to to the process, after all he will have learned the hard sell was quite feeble. He wasted millions on his elite team, only to give in at the end. He will move on, but not up. his political career will not go past county level.

Assuming it goes to trial, which it probably wont
5th pct cops will be called upon to testify as to what they did.
The cop whos' call it was will testify to what he did.
The detective who processed the arrest will be called upon to testify as to what he did.
No one is going to ask about whos stat is was. No one is going to ask why the officer who was on the scene of the crime got the arrest instead of the officers who did the stop.

the officers who stopped the car would be testifying to stopping the car and what they heard, saw or did.
The officer who went on paper would do the same. Porbably 1st on scene, gave out a local, etc.
So would the detective.
