Can't seem to find the old posts, so I guess we will start a new one. Anyone know if the three incumbents are running for re-election? Is the community satisfied with the job they are doing for us?

Since no one has responded from the 40 people who have read this post, looks like everyone is happy with the "sports board" that we have. Wonder what the next athletic improvement will be?

Thats funny I always thought instruction was more important than athletics? Whats the point if your kids can throw a ball and run fast if they can't read for God sakes?

Amen to that. I live in a district where athletic parents are unhappy that we kept full day kindegarten instead of sports. Can you believe that!?

Education counts... please tell me how you think the field is going to pay for itself? We will be paying for that field for the next 35 years and the field before it was in the previous referendum........ so we will be paying twice. And the free lights, we still pay the electricity and they are left on in the rain, snow storms and bitter cold. Not very cost effective.

you should seek counseling for your issues with sports. Its not that serious. Relax. Go bake some brownies.

Hasn't anyone ever heard of a well rounded child? Why does it have to be an either or discussion? Can't sports be a part of education? I know for a fact that the children that I know do better in school when they participate in a sport than when they don't. They are more focused and less likely to occupy their minds with garbage. A well rounded student will make a well rounded citizen.

1. as far as "wasting" money on lights, residents use the facilities at night, therefore protection and safety! Lights are on timers.
2. have you noticed that our students scores have increased. our students education cames first! and yes extra activities and sports make our children well rounded. helps when applying to colleges.
3. a sports board NOT, take a count.
4. it is ironic that parents ONLY come to board meetings when they have a personal interest. (removal of a coach/teacher, graduation off grounds, etc.) not because of education issues.

I BELIEVE SPORTS PARENTS HAVE REALLY GOTTEN THEMSELVES SO INVOLVED WITH THIER CHILDREN SPORTS THAT THEY FORGET ABOUT THE SUBJECTS THAT MATTER. "dead wood" was voted in this past year. you know whatt you have don't know what you're going to get. this board has done very well with our children look at scores. things are getting done without a circus performance as in the past. attend board meetings, STOP listening to hear say!

Can't the school district attorneys intervene in this situation? They appear knowledgeable and could probably handle arbitrating some conflict resolution in the school district.

Good point. Lamb & Barnosky is one of the premiere education attorneys in the state. They have in my opinion been very good for the school district, and have been here for the best and worst of times to make sure the school district made smart and legal decisions.

How can you stay informed when all the real decision are made behind closed doors and nothing is ever discussed publically. This Board meets in private all the time, the Board and the Superintendent like it that way. Never any substantive debate on issues, never any real controversial items discussed in open session, its all about smoke and mirrors and they are probably the most poluted group in over forty years of school board watching.

You ALL whine about how it's supposed to be for the kids, but there is not one board member left who has the guts to bring things out before the public and fill you in on how they are ripping you and your kids off. I've been to the Board meetings and those in attendence are a bunch of lemmings. Bring in the State Auditors time to shake up these fools who think they own those Board seats.

I agree one hundred percent with you, Informed in Lindy. A few years ago discussions were held in public on issues (except personnel, contracts, litigation and individual students) as they were supposed to be done. The past few years though, discussions and decisions... like moving graduation from Lindenhurst, have been held in closed sessions. All discussions except executive session, as outlined about, should be held in "open session" in front of the community.

It took took many years to get over the damage that TAXPac had done to our district, I just hope that we never find ourselves in that situation again.

For those who are interested, the next Board of Education (BOE) meeting is Wednesday, August 31st at 8pm at the McKenna Administration building. Would be nice to see a lot more faces there, besides we regular ones. Become involved, it's your child's education that could be suffering.

You know why you all are mad? Because there is less for you to bitch and complain about. You dont care about solutions you just want to be part of the arguing and fighting and bickering. When its peaceful, and productive and not dysfuncional you don't know what to do with yourselves.
